  1. Nice picture, the 2254 is a real classic. I have seen a couple in the wild, and the Speedy bracelet is really nice on this one, but when they have the 'Bond' bracelet, it really makes a difference!
  2. Wearing my PO too Lani. Put mine on a 24mm Pam strap, I think I might get a proper 22mm at some point I quite like it on leather!
  3. I wouldn't say the He valve is a dead giveaway, it's only really obvious in pictures, on the wrist you wouldn't know. I prefer the look of the Seawolf, but I prefer the way the SOSF wears. For me the Seawolf was too bulky on my wrist.
  4. Wow that looks brilliant. I am by no means a Pam WIS, and the usual thing I look at to determine authenticiy is the crown and CG. No matter what replica you buy, they all look wrong. As soon as I looked at yours it had be fooled! The proportions all seem really good. I find the T48 looks too thick and bevelled slightly wrong, but the crown on this combined with the V-CG looks perfect! Wear it well, that is a very nice Pam!
  5. My gen measures the same. The PO's are measured to the outside of the casing i.e. where the crown guards are, not the bezel itself. Yours is the 45mm UPO.
  6. I can't help think that this post is from a forum member, the referral to replicas and super reps makes this suspicious, I hope Im wrong. http://www.tz-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=74906

    Who?

Posting the same thing in different forums without doing a search or any hint of doing a search will not do you any favours. There is a whole welath of information out there. Check the gudes at the top of each forum fo the brands you are interested in Get familiar with the movements, the models, come back with ones you lie, and what you have found and then we can help you from there. There are no spot on replicas all have flaws so it dpeends on what models you like and what flaws you can live with.
  8. Thanks for the input, it's something I haven't really ever thought about before. I think the problem is that with replicas it varies so much. Therefore, I could do a pressure test, time it against a quartz etc... and give you the following information; It runs +5 seconds a day, is water proof to 3atm and has a power reserve of 44 hours etc.... but it would be specific to this watch. There is no QC in the rep world (generally) therefore not all watches would conform to the stated information. It is very much appreciated, and good to have new ideas.....I will certainly be incorporating some of your suggestions in my next review....so thank you! Thanks John, yes it's a great little replica this one, and like you say, they even included the bevelled date window which adds that little extra detail to the dial! @everyone else, thanks for the kind words
  9. Today I went to my local jewellers who had sourced a HBB for a customer. I must say when he opened the box my first reaction was 'looks cheap and tacky' I held it, and examined it, and my first impression didn't change. The colour scheme and the feel of the thing did not feel like a
  10. First of all, I would like to give big credit to Jmarin who kindly provided the excellent pictures of his genuine Tag Heuer Carrera. Secondly, another bunch of Kudos to Watchmark for providing the watch, good service as per usual. Onto the review
  11. It's the PO for me this weekend;
  12. The factories slipped up on that one The sapphire is very slightly convex, but there is no distortion whatsoever. The movement is beautiful on this, especially considering the price! It doesn't look like the genuine, but hardly anyone will know. Check out this link, I hadded a video which shows the genuine movement in motion. http://www.rwg.cc/members/Glashutte-Senato...ies-t90059.html
  13. In genuine form, the IWC winsa hands down for me. It is the grail of all grails. However, the replica you have linked to isn't the best, and I think you would be left disappointed. The more expensive 7750 basec Portuguese has reliability issues, so by process of elimination I would choose the GO. I really like mine, and for the money I put it on a pedastal.
  14. I have read of these being opened up and being as dry as a desert. It's a complete waste of money, send it to a local watchsmith or someone wh is trusted on this board.
  15. Great choice, both are legendary Pams. Amateurish photo's that are not, they are very very good
  16. I almost bought a 3714 from the USA, but unfortunately the seller didn't want to ship it with an extremely low value to avoid the tax. There isn't really any other way around it, and I don't know where you'd stand if they did a spot check on it either! If you do buy a watch for say $1000, it will be liable for VAT + 4.5% duty.
  17. Very nice, you don't see many of these being posted but that looks very well built! Certainly doesn't look like it would be put to shame by the SA in the size category, it looks huge!
  18. I bought mine from Mark, good dealer and a good price; http://www.timeshops.net/GL5503_-_Glashutt...g_1918-2922.htm
  19. I know for many people like myself, the IWC 3714-01 is their grail. The black strap and the silvery white dial is a flawless combination providing a beautiful formal looking watch. The gold accents and the subdials help provide an extra sporty dimension to the watch, making it a really versatile wearer. However, the rep is prone to problems, and the genuine isn't cheap. This is why I love the GO Senator Sixties so much. It captures most of what I love about the IWC, but for only 118USD!! It is more formal than the IWC because there are no complications, but his is a good thing! Anyway, here are a few more pictures I have taken today with my trutsy Nokia N95......
  20. On a rep the He valve is purely there for aesthetical reasons. I'd be quite happy if it was fixed in the correct position. I would think very few people have the real need to undo it even on the genuine.
  21. The only replica of that one comes in stainless steel, not titanium so it's not accurate. Have a search for the IWC 'Slevin', and the Coasteau divers. Both are very good replica's. The come with an asian 7750 but they're not a bad movement at all, especially after servicing. Have a read through some of the IWC section (especiallt the guide at the top which is very good), it should provide penty of answers. If you have anymore questions after that, ask away
  22. ......currently writing a for sale thread, will post in General Discussion ASAP
  23. Certainly is Yodap! It looks like the version based on the 21j movement, they sell for around 90USD. Source him the Asian 7750 based Bentley 6.75, he'd love that
