  1. Yes it's back another few months now. I will be really surprised if this is still released in all honesty. The fad has come and gone, and I think they've missed their market. I have a black and white TV for sale if anyone wants one?
  2. .....great advertisement for employee/employer relations
  3. Definitely. It's great how a shared passion can actually lead to a good friendship....and you need not even have met the person face to face. I envy you having met some, and even had some as house guests, it must be great. Now I have a little more freedom this summer Im hoping to attend a few GTG's and meet some of this great community! If it was something that was publicised yesterday I know what you mean, if not....I haven't the faintest
  4. Congrats on the purchase, I have one of these and it is such an elegant looking watch. It looks great under a shirt. Wear it well! lol
  5. For the sake of sounding like a bore and a parrot........the Omega 2531.80 is a must I love this watch, and for the money I can't think of any watch out there that comes close to it....or maybe I choose not to think about it Either way, it's a great watch, highly recognisable if you want that kind of thing and just soo soo comfortable.
  6. Beautiful picture! It's now my new desktop pic
  7. Thanks everyone for the kind words. I was kind of hoping that this would turn into a more communal thread, with new members and old members posting about their experiences on this wonderful board @Cornerstone - I really take my hat off to those that continue to do a masters, and many of my fellow students are off to law school for a year now, so I wish them all the best with that. I certainly don't have the focus to do anything like that at the moment, so Im off to start working and paying taxes now haha Maybe in the future I might undertake a post-grad but at the moment, it certainly is a case of putting the feet up and soaking in the freedom for a few months
  8. @P8B - I wondered why there was a massive invasion of 'Spartans' Well, what you did went beyond what I was hoping to do, so thank you If I don't get too many donations, Il count that $30 towards it, and Il match that. If I get quite a few then Il probably separate that from the other donations so it raises a bit more money. @Freddy - thanks my friend!
  9. Dear RWG, I have just completed my last exam today which signals the completion of my university degree. I want to offer a massive thank you to the forum, because truly it has helped me find motivation and see the light at the end of the tunnel. I entered this forum just over three years ago now, and I am so glad I found this place. At first it was a great resource to research and buy the replicas that I wanted. However, after a while, the purchasing of watches became second fiddle to the participation with such a great community. Over the years I have made some great friends, but most of all, everyone in this forum is here because of their love and passion for timepieces and to share experiences along the way
  10. The main difference I noticed between the two was the quality of the finish on the dial, and the quality of the AR on the gen. The genuine dial has a beautifully textured blackish dial, whereas the replica is very flat in texture, and sometimes appears grey/browny colour in direct sunlight. If there was a 'WM9 standard' PO released, there would be a waiting list longer than the Great Wall of China
  11. No worries. haha Im glad you like my lightbox. It was a box that my dad's pressurewasher came in I think, so I duefully borrowed that as a project to see if a lightbox can be made on a budget. It's not exactly art in itself, but it does an ok job at creating a nice lighting for taking pictures The next part by Ammandel will be about adding the finishing touches to your pictures....if you have seen his pictures you'll know that we're all looking forward to this
  12. Introduction First of all welcome to Part 2 of my guide on taking pictures with your camera phone. This part will focus on basic problem sovling when taking a picture. Sometimes you may find you have captured the moment but the picture is slightly warm in its overtones. Or you may find that the subject of the picture is blurry, but you have a nice landscape picture. Fear not, you are one step away from getting that picture you want. Therefore, this guide has tried to focus on what if your picture looks like this, and how can you go about adjusting the setup to alter it to how you want it. Equipment Nokia N95 Lightbox Blurred Picture Sometimes you take the picture, and when you upload the picture to your computer, it isn
  13. Thanks for the input everyone! Im going to try and find about travelling over there and flights this weekend. If make it over Il shoot you all a PM to arrange a GTG of sorts. If it falls through my back up plan is to get over next March to meet up with them and see the Melbourne GP
  14. Ubi, I read rumours somewhere that the Aquatimer is in the pipeline as we speak. Im not sure how far along it is, but hopefully we will see one soon
  15. Great pic Ammandel. Having worn my Sub for a week solidly now, I decided to give the SMP some wrist time this afternoon (been wearing the Sub this monring ) Edited photo - submitted a pic of my old 2531 by accident
  16. Il make sure I stay away from the 'nasties' I would like to come back with all limbs attached Cheers Offshore, I would imagine we'll use the bus to travel down the coast I think the plan is to stay in Cairns for a few weeks once Im there, so I would imagine that for the reminaing two weeks Im there I wouldn't get too far South. Thanks for the information, that's what I was looking for really....just to make sure if i do end up further than spitting distance from Cairns, I can get back there for the flight home without too much hassle. It's the 'winter months' at the moment isn't it? Do you think I would need any winter gear, or is it still pretty warm (Im used to the UK where even in the summer I have to defrost my hands in the mornings )
  17. For the money the PO is in a class of it's own really. The Co-axial is a little workshorse, the AR is great, lume is outrageous, and the finsih of all of the watch is superb. I would personally keep it rather than going for a Sinn. But again it's something personal, and if it doesn't feel right then act quick and take them up on their offer
  18. I know where you're coming from. If I create the ding, then fair enough, but when you first get a watch it is nice to have it in pristine condition. However, for a watch like this, and for the price you paid, you will soon forget that the mark is even there. The main thing is that you're happy with it though. If you love the watch, but don't like the ding, I am pretty sure you'll not notice it after a while. However, if you're not keen on the watch, and the ding is the final straw then that is different.
  19. The 42mm does fit very nicely, at that price i would definitely keep it and have a $50 credit put on a tab. The PO is a great watch, and it won't lose much (if any value) from the price you bought it at. Do you have pictures at all? Wear it well
  20. This is a question for the Australian members amongst us....I know there are quite a few so hopefully I can get some light shed on my query My friend is flying out to Cairns tomorrow and is travelling the East coast for 10 months (ending in Melbourne). Due to work commitments at the end of the summer I can't do the same. I am going to fly out there for four weeks and meet them in Cairns. We will probably stay there for a couple of weeks, then move south a bit. My flight would be back from Cairns four weeks later. My question is.....if I stay in hostels, and we treck south, how easy would it be to travel back to Cairns to fly back to the UK? I would imagine in four weeks I wouldn't make it that far from Cairns, but if I do, are internal flights fairly easy to get at the last minute? I suppose if the flight isn't an option, there would be a good train network to get me back North to Cairns? Thanks in advance for any input
  21. Great shots Laz! I think you'll enjoy this one as you have some really elegant pieces in your colllection, and this Breitling is a bit if a bruiser, so it sits in the collection very nicely. It looks so nice on that dark leather strap! I used to own a rep on the rubber strap, it makes great daily wearing in the summer months.
  22. Well there seems to be a theme here, so Il join in as Im sporting my Sub today too.....
  23. It's the black I managed to get one from another member. It's from Bk originally and is without the engravings. It has had the datewheel inlay glued in, and everything checked etc...so it should be as good as I can get it without going gen hopefully. I may try and source a thinner crown, do the genuine ones crop up for sale now and again on other boards, or can they be bought from a retailer directly?
