  1. Both are beautiful watches, and neither will hold their value particularly well, so don't buy a gen as an investment, buy it because you can see yourself owning it for a long time! Of the two, the Planet Ocean has the more classic lines, and it has a better movement. It uses a co-axial movement, whereas the Tag uses a standard 7750 but with a Tag engraved rotor.
  2. The Skyland just about perfect in terms of size and everyday wearability. I have a 7.25inch wrist and found the SA to be too big. The Skyland is just about right, the SA just felt like something I would wear for other people rather than for me!
  3. Looking good. The difference that Cheif's AR makes is priceless....and we all know how bright that thing is going to glow too
  4. Who's watcbox is this!?!?! I see more gens than reps
  5. There is the correct datewheel with the white on black (in quartz too), but I'm afraid I can't remember who sells them. See if Andrew can source you one.
  6. hmm... it's advertised as quartz, but the picture shows a Navitimer with a 7750 layout. If that was quartz, the sub dials would be closer together and the seconds would be running at 6. My guess is that what you actually get is nothing like what is pictured.
  7. Me too Here is a picture of a genuine F1 item I have on my shelf...... Can you guess what it is yet A McLaren F1 front wheel (from 2007 I think)
  8. Another great review Morlock! I have the black one on its way to me, I can't wait to wear it now, having read this review!
  9. Such a beautiful watch, IWC really hit a home run with the Vintage range! I think it could be the two part dial that makes it appear slightly smaller? I share your sentiments about the strap....it's not even a nice looking rubber strap! If it was like the rubber strap that comes on the Costeau I think it would look much nicer!
  10. I bought it from a member a while ago, its no longer in my possession though. As far as I know only two were ever built. Much work went into them that's for sure!
  11. Swiss HBB, one of a kind; Engraved rotor;
  12. It would be nice if there was a radar. Joshua just dropships, no QC at all. What I can't see is why he won't send out another one. I would assume Joshua would take this back to the factory, they would bodge another movement in there and re-sell it.
  13. Ouch, that is painful to look at....one of the nastiest replicas I've ever seen!
  14. I had the exact same problem with mine! I hadn't seen this review before, Im glad it's been bumped up, this is the most detailed and informative review I have read so far! Brilliant work TT (even if it is over a year late in me saying so!)
  15. How's this for some advice, in picture form
  16. It might be the colour contrast of the black on silver. On the black dial rep, there is a clear gap between the large ticks on the subdials, and either side of the subdial ring, on this dial, there isn't. I think it's the same version as mine here. It's actually a slightly silvery dial, which gives of a radiant effect when in the sunlight (very hard to capture. It has the same effect as my Glashutte, you can see there are like little lines extending out from the centre to the outter part of the dial.
  17. I share Laz's sentiments completely...until it comes to the buying bit. The PO screams quality. The dial is so clear under the AR coating, and the black on white numbers looks so classy, for me it is the best looking affordable divers watch out there. However, when it comes to pressing that 'buy' button, I always come back to the SMP. God knows why, but there is something 'special' about the SMP for me.
  18. Im sporting my new Carrera;
  19. There isn't any as per the gen. Only the new CV2 (day/date) comes with AR John....lovely gen there! That's the version that caught my eye all those years ago!
  20. Well it seems that I have been firmly bitten by the Tag Heuer bug! I completely agree with By-tor, that whilst some brands are struggling with new ideas, Tag is stepping forward with new designs that are novel, yet beautiful! The Carrera is my favourite of the Tag Heuer collection. I have always wanted the Black with white subdial rings, but the 'fat rings' is one flaw I couldn't live with. After seeing a few pictures of the different dial variations, and finding out that the silver dial comes with the correct subdial rings (figure that one out!?) I opted for the silver dial. I have put it on a cheap rubber strap temporarily because I can't resize the bracelet of the Carrera (thanks to the UPO breaking my link removal tool grrr..) I am going to get the datewheel swapped over this week, and then I will present to the forum a comprehensive review of this particular model....which I feel is seriosly underrepresented, and cast away in favour the usual Carrera Racing, and the standard black dial variations......lets see if we can change that Of course, it was purchased from none other than Watchmark....a great dealer! I am now on a Tag Heuer frenzy, so for those who have Tag Heuers, lets see them, and hear your opinions on the brand!
  21. Try the standard tang buckle straps from the dealers, they are very good quality, and a real bargain for 40USD! Here are some pictures of different straps on the Skyland (now sold)
  22. I would go for the full blown double AR. The latest Links ar com,ing with AR on them and they look so much better, and see TT's pictures above!
  23. Good to see those Canadian postmen got it to you in the end! Looks great, wear it well!
