Have you tried spreading the extension apart, see if that helps is snap better? I haven't seen a close up of the 4th gen to see how it compares to my smp, but the tension of the extension is adjustable by placing a screwdriver between the prongs of the extension.

What was real bad about the clasp? The engraving or the clasp itself?

Paypal also ruled in my favor and I got nothing because seller did not have funds. I was fortunate enough to get my money back on a montblanc that I bought that turned out to be a replica, but it required a bunch of paperwork and about 3 months going back and forth. I ALWAYS had to call them, but they make you wait till the max amount of time specified. So if they say 24-48 hours, they wont do anything before 48 hours and in my case they wouldn't do anything until I called even if I waited days. PAYPAL SUCKS, but at least its cheaper then Western union online or moneybooker.

I ordered a scratch pen off of ebay, the vids make it look very easy to get a very good brush job, they even use a pam and an omega smp in the samples. I'll post a review when I get it.

SMP has been my beater watch for years, before I started getting reps. Ironically this is the first day I've worn it in over a month. Although now my 8 year old smp looks like new thanks to by-tor's refinishing guide and an $18 bezel insert from ebay.

Not sure about oem, but all the big strap dealers should be able to source them for about $10.00usd/set.

Orange strap is great, but prefer black with tan or gold stitch to match the hands on mine (previously your)217.

Especially the high prices on older models that have since been revised and improved, or are currently selling at half the price that was originally paid. Unfortunatly most reps do not retain their value as the newer models typically get better and better every couple months (with a few exceptions ie. smp).

Local optical place would probably have a screw that fits.

Bought my wife a 44m PVD, with pink strap (like on davidsens pvd thread) she really likes it. And if she gets tired of it i'll through a ballglove strap and wear it.
