  1. Did you debate putting the GEN dial on at the same time... this is probably my next project if i keep my breitling swiss with gen dial.
  2. Dails from all the vendors right now are all very accurate. Current subs differ by: Bezel/Pearls Date Mag / Alignment Crown Guards But over all except for quality controls issues, as long as you dont get a defective sub they are all pretty good right now.
  3. I was in the market for a new sub before I bought my first rep. Now I have 6 reps and about $3500 left, and one of those reps was the sub lv I was looking at gen. Unfortunatly I bought a PAM... and now I have 2... um make that 3...
  4. His post in the dealer section here says: SO CALLED ULTIMATE SUB I think what he is implying is that he has the same quality as PT's ultimate for standard price. It actually doesnt look bad might have to pick this and the 4th gen PO up and do a review.
  5. The method I use for oiling is: Remove bracelet get a 10" long piece of clear plastic wrap place bracelet on plastic apply liberal ammounts of gun oil (non-blueing) on front and back wrap bend each link foward and back about 5 times let sit 30 minutes bend each link foward and back about 5 times unwrap wipe dry with microfiber cloth reattach. If its a brand new bracelet you will also want to polish it first... there is alot of gunk/oxidation when you first get it. Your watch will go from grey to silver (if you removed a link do a comparison after you polish and you'll be amazed.)
  6. looks like pvd case, and back links are pvd as well... bezel and front links are polished ss. I was just thinking about this config this weekend when browsing the pvd post. Is this available, or is it a 1 off.
  7. instead of marking the center you could place the new cyclops on the outside (upside down) and mark the edges all the way around.
  8. That works well. Im assuming from looking at the bezel design you have to remove the movement to get to the second hand (would still like to epoxy in place), and that the bezel doesnt come off without a press. If you dont want to epoxy, i'd suggest only reseting your chrono at 12 otherwise eventually it will slip.
  9. not that im trying to do that
  10. I think people are trying to snipe the auction at the end.
  11. There are quite a few posts on this issue, mine has the same problem. When you reset the chrono near the 6 position, there is enough force that the chrono hand slips. Unfortunatly it will always return to that position until it either slips agian or is fixed. To fix you need to remove the movement, and epoxy the hand in the 12 position with the movement reset. Once epoxied your chrono will always return to 12 no matter where you reset it from. If you send it in for service, or if you have local watch repair that will work on reps this shouldnt be a big deal for them.
  12. I used oxyclean, and a little bit of bleach just last night on basically a throw away strap... I was quite pleased with the results and may keep it for occasional use. Gives the 217 Destro a very military look. I'll post more picks later.
  13. Thanks Damn was sitting here all day refreshing every minute and omeone walks into my office for 5 minutes and the dang things over. Oh Well, at least I got a new Pam delivered today, so its not all bad...
  14. If I was into vintage I would be PM'n Luckyyy for MBW in a heartbeat, they are stunning examples of reps. The LV on the other hand, is a good rep but not GREAT. Although his description says he uses 440 steel, and if the case would accept gen parts (like the vintage models) I would be all over it. Unfortunatly I havent seen enough reviews on the MBW LV to determine if thats the case, and I currently have an LV that I'm pretty darn happy with to shell out big bucks on something I may not like as much (I couldnt wear it with that damn bold 300m unfortunatly), but i wouldnt mind stripping the bracelet of it. On trc a newbie reported that Luckyyy responded to his pm (i guess patience is the key, send one pm and only one and wait for your turn to ride the MBW go-round), and placed an order and is awaiting delivery. So he's out there, im just not sure if I would go that route for a sub when there are some many great value subs out there.
  15. The land of Swizzle sticks and gumdrops. But my question is does it also come with a bumpersticker for my pinto that says: "Check my watch... My other car is a Bently."
  16. Oh Oh Oh I'll take one.
  17. 217 for today, but mailman just brought me an 063 with a bracelet and 3 strap so I may be wearing that some... I feel the PAM Sickness, where can I go for help?!?!:
  18. Guys name is watchman and he doesnt know what a replica is... come on I know 16 year olds that know what reps are.
  19. Looks like a wierd hybrid... closest to the 300m GMT
  20. I actually say it as a rep on another site, and it was pretty poor... This one looks much better, I'll have to check it out. Thanks TTK
  21. Those look just like the illimidot I got from ofrie for 10.00
  22. No offense to the dealers here, but typically the dealers are always going to say what is better... and downplay what is not so great. Checking both the dealer review/rep vs. gen/and rolex picture forum and you'll have more information then you'd ever need. Trust me 4 weeks ago I knew nothing about reps (and damn near bought a swiss A1 blah blah blah for $900) Now I have 5 reps that are awsome quality including a very nice lv sub... for just a tad more. Only problem is I think the people at work believe im selling drugs or won big gambling, they believe I would have and do have 5k gen watches (which I do)... but 5 new 5k gen watches in a month and somethings up. Luckily, we got our bonuses 3 weeks ago and I left for vegas the next day so I let them assume what they will.
  23. 27... I think (anyone else forget?)
  24. hopefully lietztozeiss doesnt mind i used one of his pics: this was the band before: and after (dry and oiled): Also have a SC Loader Black with tan stitching coming too.
