Will formula 1 crisis increase watch prices?
nikki6 replied to vikkyrob's topic in The Tag Heuer Area
I don't know about highly unlikely!! F1 has an massive following and most of them will buy anything with F1 on it somewhere!! My Father (Thunderchild) has a gen Maclaren Merc F1 Link TAG. On the caseback it has the 2 drivers, David Coultard and mikka Hakkinen, and the Mclaren team boss, whos name has just flown out of my head!! I hate that!! But I would expect that to be worth a nice sum, even before all this furore with F1 at the moment. Mikka beat the Legend that is Schumacher to an F1 title, David Coultard, the great Scottish hope at the time and was always destined to win a title but always ended up with wicked fast drivers, or rubbish cars!! I think you may find that some of the Ltd Editions and team specials may have just jumped up over night!! Sixx -
Problem is, is that F1, ie, Bernie and Max have contracts with all the circuits that the F1 circus (read, procession) go to. So if FOTA want to split and start a new faction, ala American champcar and Champkart (or what ever the feck it's called!?) they would have to try and book different tracks, problem with that is that the FIM will undoubtedly have some form of contract with the other tracks. Be it with Nascar, champcar, MotoGP, World SuperBikes hell Radio controled car racing, they will still have leverage with pretty much every half wothwhile track in Europe at least, also Australia, Africa now that Kyalami has come back out to play (man I love that track, full throttle on a Superbike down the Mineshaft, Awesome!!) Asia and most of the Far East. I'm not sure how much clout they have in the US, maybe members there can help us out, but I know for sure they have p1ssed off a lot of people with the whole F1 circus at Indy I think it was, when the tyres that were provided wouldn't last the race and drivers pulled out on safety grounds. Bernie, et al, went nuts calling the drivers for everything, drivers association had words and suddenly the track and the American version of the FIM, the AMA, were called for everything. As OS has said, this is going to be a lawyers delight, it will be like birthdays, Christmas, everything come all at oncce!! Can you even imagine the amount of money that would be involved in a case like this, just onlawyers alone!!?? It will be staggering!! Let the crows rip and tear and the vultures feast!! Maybe at the end of it we will get racing worth watching again, rather than a line of cars just going very fast one after another and heavens forbid someone should overtake!! Watch MotoGP or World SuperBikes!! See proper racing at it's best!! Nothing like finishing a race with someone elses tyre rubber on your leathers and their paint on your bike!! Sixx

Sounds like a real nice project bud!! On the bracelet, are you going to have differing shades in the links? You know how you get the bracelet and it's part polished and part brushed, are you going for a similar theme with shades (obviously not polished) like have what would be polished lighter and the brushed darker? Think it's going to be a REAL nice piece when you're finished man, good luck and keep us up to date! Sixx

ROCKETEER = K2222 - Admin Team is there something U can do ?
nikki6 replied to Pix's topic in General Discussion
I have never had any dealings with Rocketeer, but I recall him being a fairly longterm member and had the tag of 'tester' under his avatar. Kinda like Lanikai has 'Raffle-meister' under his and TT has 'co-Admin' etc Is this something he put on himself or did he actually test things for 'good of the masses' so to speak? I may have completely the wrong person here and if so I apologise and retract anything inflamitory. From what I remember him and another member, sorry can't recall the name, were trying to find UK ar specialists, then it was thought while hunting for one they would be a central collection for a run to Chief. This is just my memory of it as I was going to put in a couple of crystals, but fell ill and wasn't able to get them to 'central hub' on time. I think that on one thing we all agree on and that is that the integrity of Chief in this business is unquestionable. He has proved time and again that what he provides is the best and if it doesn't come out the best, for whatever reason, he fixes that reason and makes it come good again!! I don't feel a man here can have any doubt in his mind about this fact. I feel it's really inportant to keep this in mind as this thread grows legs!! It's really the 'Tester' tag thats sticking in my head for some reason?! Again, I really do apologise if I have this all wrong, my memory isn't the best. Sixx -

Chris at Eurotimez has came out and explained his issues an that they are now all sorted! He has been a well respected collector/dealer on here for a good while now! He does his own QC, that is he employes people at the factory to properly QC the watches before they ship, he also does a fair bit of the QC as the watches go through him. Watcheden are a bit hit and miss, really good for low end reps at really good prices, they have plenty of higher end reps too. But as I said, what you get, as with a lot of dealers, can be a bit hit and miss! No idea about PT, never used hi, the site is brutally hard to navigate when you are blind and it drivesme nuts, so I don't bother with it. Thats not a put down on him, just I can't get along wit his site. Homer I don't know either, never used him. Out of all EU/UK based dealers I would say Narikaa is the best by far. Great choice of merchandise and his communication is always prompt and polite and aftersales is perfect!! I would say use Narikaa or Chris at Eurotimez. But we all have to be comfortable with our dealer so its best to look around for your self bud. Sixx

I have the Black dial version. There is actually 2 different models of this, one that is 44mm x 14.5mm thick, this comes on leather or SS. The other is one that comes in a white or black dial, this is 46mm x 16.7mm and only comes in leather strap with deployment. I have the slightly bigger model and it feels almost as good as my fathers Calibre 17 RoseGold. Thankfully the TAG logo is straight on mine and the crown is prett solid, annoying that it doesn't screw in though. Altogeather top value I would say!! Sixx

Live it up big guy, it sounds amazing where you are staying!! I hope you have a great time and happy birthday!! Sixx
-
Nope, not as above, it's a well known problem with this model. Graphite treatment works wonders if applied. Take it to a rep friendly WS and ask him what he thinks, but the graphite is the main cure on here it seems. Sixx
-
Damnit CS you just ruined my running funny joke by getting there first!! *shakes fist*
-
I'm with the big guy on this one, always best to try get the proper tools for it rather than waste a load of energy, good swearwords and chaffed knuckles only to find it still didn't work. If you look on ebay bud, they have loads of watch tools on there, you can buy a boxset that isn't too expensive and it comes with all the fitments you need for pretty much any watch on the market. Hope you find what you need mate!! Sixx
-
Panda all the way!! I have the BTR in black, the Panda makes the set!! It's a really stunning watch! Sixx
-
Bugger, thats who I meant to say!! I always end up getting their name wrong! So yeah, what b16a2 said!! lol Sixx
-
That first site has a XXT open 45mm on offer Pho, no idea about it as I can't see it, but it's certainly there. It's listed at about $700. Sixx

I think there are a couple more PT aka Perfect Time are in the UK, I think, I haven't used them. Narikaa is in Europe mainly, well sometimes, he does some really good reps at great prices and his after sales is the best I have ever come across! Check him out in the dealer section. Sixx

That was for the whole year. Yeah the K4 is such a great looking bike, last model before the ugly end cans and that nasty duckarse tail piece!! The Ltd Edition black initially came with all the stickers and crap on, so I removed them all and just left the silver 'S' on the tank, got black screen, tri oval carbon end can, system is already titanium, all my bikes have specially made rear-sets (foot pegs), the right one has slightly bigger spikes so my boot would catch and grip on it as my right leg is paralysed. (Well to be fair so is the rest of my right side now and I'm blind) but was still able to race and keep with any fast group anywhere. Goes to show, doesn''t matter whats wrong if your heart is in it you will find a wy to over come it!! Sixx

Hey Raffo, welcome to the forum my friend!! I hope you learn a lot and have good times doing so!! If you check out our dealer/collectors list, there is a supplier called eurotimez, Chris there will be able to help you out with pretty much anything you need! Or goto Eurotimez.com and his team can help you from there. Sixx

The link that Strat has given you is showing 2 different watches and doesn't seem to be able to make up it's mind about the clasp or the bracelet material. Most pics have it with the carbon midlinks and bumper plates, but the flat strap across the back of the watch shot shows no carbon midlinks?! Stunning watch, Narikaa does a really good quartz version of this. But any good deal you get on a 7750 I would jump on it if I were you!! Sixx

Rolexman, does the gen have the circles on the dial, or is that a trick of the light when you took the pic? If it does it sounds way cool!! Sixx

Lol, your mam is a very wise woman Dave!!! Sixx -
I guess PayPal are trying to do the nice, friendly, "look at us being all kind and fuzzywuzzy for the families" But it also means you are no longer covered by the protection scheme/scam, that they run! I'm by no means one of the PP haters who think they are the devil and are trying to steal all your money I have used them for years with only one issue that was quickly fixed for me, but I would say this is a promo "fuzzywuzzy" act to try attract some of the milder haters back! It costs them nothing at all if you lose your money this way, it's not covered, but it also makes them look good. Win/win in the promo stakes. The exchange rates are another ballgame altogeather!! It drives me insane when the market figures say I get $1.7066 to

Ebel 1911 Discovery - Vibrates when winding ?
nikki6 replied to mortster's topic in Other Brands Area
Easy on By-Tor there guys!! He has written numerous times about this subject, as has TT in his Noobguide. There is only so many times someone who is trying to help can take being ignored!! I didn't think his reply was all that offensive, just direct and too the point, as stated above, only so many times!! He was trying to do a favour and help! Sixx -
