  1. Rep crystals are a bit finicky. If they are not seated properly in the bezel, the likelihood of the crystal exploding is high as the crystal is generally not as well made as the gen versions.
  2. Kruzer - I also understand that not all the EL fiddy/217 casebacks have "swiss made" on the back of the ring. Is that your understanding as well?
  3. Looks nice! Where did you get the dial from? What lume product did you use? I was thinking of doing the same with my cali.
  4. Wow!! This is great news kruzer! I am down for at least 2-3 cases. Please let us know when the cases will be ready for sale! I normally post over at RG. Maybe I should keep my eye on rwg since there always a few interesting things going on here as well ...
  5. I agree that it looked a bit too glossy to me as well. It could be his older 112H dial or just how the pics are taken. Also, does the font look white to you or ivory in color?
  6. The EL 217 dial has slightly lighter fonts compared to DSN's 217H. Only evident when comparing it side by side. Like the EL fiddy dials, its the best rep dial out there for a 217H.
  7. HackR - when did you get your LH 219? I think the latest version (v.201c) is not as glossy as his older dial. The sheen on mine looked pretty good compared to gen and not shiny like his older dials. I was thinking of getting it re-textured by flav but will see ...
  8. Kruzer - I am aware that in addition to what you indicated above for the gen v1 fiddy dial, the numerals & indices are also slightly thicker than the later versions. And the "1" in "12" are usually off on the rep dials ...
  9. I think he meant genuine rep sapphire crystals not OEM. US$190 sounds very high. I remember getting one for US$120.
  10. These are the comp pics I was looking for earlier. Glad it showed up here. Had seen them before RWG switched to the new look as it was not possible to find them now using the search system ...
  11. Hi Kruzer, I remember seeing a post here a while back from someone (could be you) with three types of gen fiddy dials, but can't seem to find it now under the new RWG. Had the link previously but none of them works now. If you know where the new link is or had the old pics, can you please repost here? I am really interested in seeing the three variations again.
  12. +1 Have it on my gen 111F and 111H as well.
  13. If you have the correct EL 44mm case, there will be no flat indent between the lugs. The EL 44mm cases do have an elongated "U" shape indenture right at the bottom lip of the area between the lugs. Gen E-L 44mm PAMs have a small flat indenture towards the bottom between the lugs, and so does the JF cases but the JF lugs feets are a little too stubby and not long like the gen cases.
  14. +1 The mvt and crystal gave it away instantly. Looks like a cartel version with asian engraved H mvt. I would like to know too, where was this sale posted? The tags on the pics looks like eBay ...
  15. Is this bc-05 from RG? If this is the same fiddy you posted over at RG, I say keep it as true to the original as possible. Its a beautiful example of what a fiddy should be ... All it needs are better looking hands, AR stripped and servicing. Fiddies with this type of characteristics are getting harder and harder to find ... Which dealer/member did you get this from? Is this the PWC ultimate? Looks very much like mine ... If you are looking to create a fantasy fiddy as you have suggested above, get a cheap fiddy to do it on. No point screwing around with such a beautiful piece.
  16. If the fiddy you are looking for needs to meet all those requirements above, then you are in for a very long, long wait ... I don't know of any rep fiddies that had the aftermarket AR done (chief or jakobh). The good modded ones have the AR stripped as the gen has very light and almost invisible AR. So best thing to do here is NOT have any AR. There is no such thing as a swiss engraved E mvt for the fiddy. The good ones are gen-ETA based meaning the base mvt is a gen ETA 6497-1 but the back plates are asian made, hence the term "swinese mvts". Most of the fiddy crystals have some form of distortion in them. Very few have good crystals. Best ones out there are the rare EL Fiddies (old and new versions, but the new versions have mineral crystal) and old school fiddies from a few years ago, as well as some of the recent PWC/DSN ultimate fiddies (quality of varies too among the same batch). Some of the fiddies have good looking CGs, but most need some form of modding to get it to look right. Last thing to mention, you can expect to pay a decent amount ($400+) for a good modded one. The top modded fiddies will cost you an arm & a leg, especially if it has all the mods done and ONLY if it had a superb base watch. Until you have seen/handled/owned some of the best fiddies out there, you have no idea how bad the cheap ones are ...
  17. Looks asian to me ... the tell is in the Incabloc shock protector and rough finish of the movement plates/bridges.
