  1. It looks ok. The crown guard reminds me my old Invicta Noma III watch, which the it (CG) was not very well made. More over, I just simply don't like the scheme that manufacturers make "limited" editions to get outrageous amount of profit.
  2. I verified with Josh, and he said the black v2 is available.
  3. Not sure about that one, but this is my current favorite.
  4. Can someone tell me which dealer has it? Pretty please!
  5. Wow, this is nice... I like. 100% rep, not a franken, right?
  6. It doesn't seem to me the black SOH v2 (non-chronograph) is out of stock. Are you sure??
  7. Guys, I've been thinking about this watch for months. Seems to me there are several prices for this model. They are sold as cheaply as $150 and as expensively as $320. Some comes with rubber band and some comes with SS bracelet. Which one is the good one? I'm thinking going with 7750 model and the SS bracelet, just in case if I need the bracelet. Like this one on Josh's website. What do you think? I sure don't see a whole lot of reviews on them here. Thanks for your help!
  8. As for rep watches, I like my BCE, TT BCE, Skyland and SOSF. The BCE, Skyland and SOSF were sent for service and gen dial installs, so I am wearing the TT most of the time. It's not considered to be exact replication, especially the date wheel font, case number and the SS bezel bezel I just installed (replaced the TT bezel which doesn't center well), but I still like it. The rep v2/v3 SS bezel is tighter to rotate and gives very solid clicks. If I can't find an updated datewheel in the future, I will keep wearing it. I've been eying on a SOH and Pam 199 ultimate. These might be something I'd like to purchase in the future. For gen watches, I like my Seamaster, Planet Ocean. Someday I want to own a gen BCE and a titanium Avenger.
  9. Points taken. Thanks guys! Because we are so diverse, it makes our forum much more fun!
  10. So shall I safely conclude that is Bentley 6.75 can't be frankened then? Thanks Yodap and Chief!
  11. Points taken! Thanks guys!
  12. I know these are common sense principles, but it's hard to practice them consistently (I know I do). If you have something else to add, please feel free. Thanks for reading!
  13. I know the title is not a valid word, but it sounds pretty good. After being around for some time and these are something I've learned/need to improve on. I would like to post these points for our fellow friends. These are solely my personal opinion, so it's ok if you don't agree. 1. Knowing what you want. This will save you $$ ultimately. There is no point having a bunch of rep watches that you are just ok with. Especially rarely someone can recover the original price when selling watch used. In this case, you'd better off save you $$ get a gen or better made rep of your dream. I've noticed people tend to buy $200 - $300 watches, impulsively (including me), but if you can save that money (if the urge is hard to resist, transfer the cost of the watch from your bank account to your PP account... pretending the money has already spent every time you want to buy), then you will be surprised how much you can save in a short time. Once you have the $$, go reward yourself with a gen or a super franken one! This appies to straps too. With the $$ you saved, you can jump on the hot deals when you see one. 2. Having a long term strategy/plan/goal. Do you want to buy this watch because it's best out of box or easy to modify/takes gen parts? In some cases, you can find both qualities on one watch, but sometimes you can't. Does the watch accepts Swiss ETA movements or just Asian movements only? Standard automatic movement is a lot cheaper to service down the road than a chronograph one. It's better buying a Asian ETA clone movement than a Swiss ETA when you order a watch in my opinion. This is because you can alway install a gen Swiss one later that you know it's a new Swiss movement. Add the watch service fee to the total of the watch purchase. It's better to have your new rep watch serviced asap when you get it then you will be good for a long time. 3. Research. If possible, always check fellow forum members posts and reviews before ordering the watch. This will more likely help you to find the right one. Especially there are so many variations out there. Check with the reputable dealers before they ship the watch. Returning is time consuming and increases shipping risk, thus it's always good to know what you are getting and not to return anything. In many cases, after you have done your research, you may realize you won't like it as much. Also in many cases, you will know when to jump on a deal right away, when to wait until the price drops. 4. Buying an used rep from fellow forum members is better than from the dealer in my opinion. You may get a better deal, quality checked, short shipping time and reduced custom risk if the watch is in the country already. The watch service cost is a sunk cost, and it's rarely added to the sale price, so as the straps sometimes. Just make sure ask good questions before purchase, and buying from members with a lot of posts. 5. Knowing when to modify a watch. Sometimes modding is desirable, but sometimes it's not, you'd better off with a better version of the same watch. You will have to make sure the watch you are modding is the one you want to keep for a long time. Otherwise, you will lose a lot of $$ that you can save for a better watch! 6. If you have to sell a watch. Make sure you understand and accept the $$ you are going to lose realistically. Sell your piece quickly so you can move on with your life. 7. Watch collecting is never an investment! Especially in the rep world.
  14. Not sure... It may belong to the dial or maybe case since it rotates, but I think since those gen dials available for sale mainly because they are replaced by diamond dials... gen owners may not replace their rehaut rings... thus none of them are for sale unfortunately.
  15. The things I have seen are like this one. http://cgi.ebay.com/BREITLING-BENTLEY-MOTORS-6-75-BLACK-DIAL-WATCH-MENS_W0QQitemZ220584380507QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item335bda885b Is the rehaut ring there? Or I'm thinking about something else?
  16. Good point, Chief! Frankly, I haven't seen any rehaut rings for sale. Mainly just the dial. It's probably not going to be worthwhile then. You are right about the Breitling bezels. They are generally hard to remove. Instead of spending the effort to remove the rep bezel, I wonder if we can ask the dealers to ship us ones without the bezels installed when we order watches.
  17. Anybody? What do you think? Will gen dial and bezel fit? Is there a need for replacing the rep parts?
  18. I think the TT one I have is an early v2 (not 100% sure). I say this, is because it has bad Asian date font, but does have the little mark right 10 on the minute sub dial. The thing I've noticed interesting is that its bezel is drilled for all the screws (12 total), whereas the other version one I have only had 4 holes drilled for the windrider tabs only. The bezel on mine is also about little thicker than gen, but the case has deeper grooves to hold the bezel wire.
  19. Thanks guys! BT, I have read your review, but I must skipped some of your text... spent too much time drooling over your pictures... Shkolnik, your BCE will make me drool over too! I sent one of mine to have it modded, so hopefully when it comes back, it will look like yours. For some reason, the white/off white stick dial just really catches my eyes. I can't help it. I know the rep dial is not as good, but I'm willing to replace it with gen dial. Unfortunately, the gen white stick dial is harder to find versus the Arabic dial, so I will have to be patient and wait
  20. BT, But Joshua also sells v2 with updated date wheel for $308. That's what confused me. http://www.perfect-hour.com/bl10090-chronomat-evolution-graphite-asia-7750-28800-updat-p-4689.html I already have a v2 BCE modded, but I'm just not sure if it is the ultimate version to mod. Thanks!
  21. Thanks for sharing and recommendation! Your BCE looks great! The correct date wheel is really hard to come by, so I think I will have to go with v3 BCE then. Joshua sells a v2 with updated date wheel for more. Maybe the extra on the price is just for the better bracelet.
  22. Guys, I know they are pretty close, especially v2 with updated date font. But since I want to have it modded, which one is better to do the modding on? On one of our sellers website I see "water resistant" showing under v2 but absent on v3. Also, for some reason, v2 is also more expensive than v3. I'm planning on installing gen bezel, dial and Swiss ETA 7750 movement. Thanks!
