  1. I go to WUS sometimes. In fact, I don't go there very often now days after I've discovered RWG. Sometimes gen owners do make me feel that they are less knowledgeable on their watches. What's the point of spending the $$ getting a gen if you can't notice/enjoy all the wonderful details?! I'm really trying hard not to say anything on that thread, but I don't know how long I can hold my silence. Other than all other differences people mentioned earlier, the one thing I have noticed between the gen and rep is the quality of the stainless steel. The metal on my ex-UPO (gave to a friend of mine) is a bit grayish compare to gen. This is especially apparent on the bracelet.
  2. Anyone knows how to make bezel on the Pam 243 tight? Thanks!
  3. I guess I've found the answer to my question. See picture below. The original patent shows the crown in centered around the crown guard.
  4. You are right Mickey, but having the crown not centered kind of bothers me... I'm one of those guys like perfectly symmetrical things. So should I assume the answer is yes, the genuine Panerai have centered crown then?
  5. Hi all the gurus, Can someone tell me what the visual differences between a v2 and v3 BCE bracelets are? People say v2 bracelets are better. I just want to know why. Thanks!
  6. I would do nothing, but it's definitely good to know if it is or not. Is gen Pam's crown centered or bit off? Thanks!
  7. Any thoughts (in comparison to the gen)? It's almost very centered on the case. I've never owned a gen of this sort, so I have no idea if this is even close. Thanks for your comments!
  8. Started the day with my BCE. Ended with Casio for swimming. I just ordered a Debaufre Ocean 1, hopefully it will replace my Casio for swimming.
  9. The CG on my Vac custom 44mm is 6.5mm thick, 23.8mm long. The wholesaleoutlet990's is thicker and slightly shorter than mine.
  10. Has anyone bought this CG from Wholesaleoutlet990 on the bay? http://cgi.ebay.com/PAM-CROWN-BRIDGE-PANERAI-WATCH-44MM-47MM-PART-/180488547777?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a05f4adc1 How is the quality on this one? I have a Vac custom watch. The crown guard on it was damaged (on the lever) since new from Vac. He told me his whole batch was like that... anyway, I've been using it as it is since. I wonder if the wholesaleoutlet990's CG is actually better than the one I have. Thanks!
  11. Definitely leather if you are not planning on swimming with your watch. I have a white dial two tone BCE. It looks awesome with brown Breitling leather band.
  12. Thanks Sander! For some reason, it looks small.
  13. Guys, I just got this date wheel. I was told it's for ETA 7750, but it looks small to me. It does however, has the ETA font. It's measured to be 24.5mm in diameter. Is it for ETA 7750 or 2824? Thanks!
  14. Guys, How is the WR on this watch? I'm seriously thinking about getting one. Thanks!
  15. Looks like someone is selling on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/U-BOAT-WATCH-50MM-NEW-BOX-CHRONO-replica-UBOAT-/270571079016?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Wristwatches&hash=item3eff4b0568 He is also selling a rep Rollie... http://cgi.ebay.com/Submariner-50th-Anniversary-Green-40mm-replica-/270572725387?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Wristwatches&hash=item3eff64248b
  16. 243 is better than 199? I thought people say 199 is the best...
  17. I had the same problem with IE 8 (under Windows 7), so I switched to Firefox.
  18. I take my time to buy my watches, so I rarely sell any of my rep collection, especially the franken ones. Once I decide on a watch to franken, it pretty much automatically becomes a member of my permanent collection. My small collection mainly consists of Omega and Breitling. I have two Pam homages (gen RXW MM20 and a Vac custom) that are also to stay. Just FYI, my next purchase would be Breitling SOH, SOH chrono, SA and Pam 199 ultimate.
  19. There are really no golden rules about this. It all depends. What the watch is on, leather strap vs. metal bracelet. How the lugs are shaped, do they bent down and hugs the wrist or straight. The lug width. Thickness of the watch. The actual dial diameter. Even dial color (lighter dial color will make the watch looks bigger sometimes). Finish of the case... etc. Your best bet is to go to a local AD and try the watches on your wrist and keep the mind open.
  20. I bought my 45mm gen Omega PO for $1400 shipped.
  21. Hopefully they come out a new version with sunken date wheel fixed. It doesn't bother me when the watch case is or is not 316F, but it really does when I see sunken date wheel.
  22. 7753 movement worth $600, so to me $800 is about right. However, if the movement originally came from the dealer, I would put more doubt on if it's 100% genuine. Thus, I wouldn't buy it for this trade value unless it's confirmed genuine by someone knows these things BEFORE I buy it. Once you complete the transaction, it is kind of too late to have it confirmed then.
  23. Have you tried fredmiranda.com? When I search for a particular lens, I go there. Good luck!
