  1. I do know where your comming from, in the same boat actualy. Im a Omega man at heart. I have been around RWG about six weeks. I agree with you about the overwelming selection of Pams :unknw: I am quite facinated with the brand and history of the watch maker. I can spend $$$$ 400-500 on a rep if need be,I just dont think it is nessasary (imho) I have just orderd a pam 217 Destro (47mm) from Andrew.($168) My second rep. I feel that this wach captures the heratage of Panerai. A very rare piece indeed. It is very ,very close to the gen, magnificent. :good: I was tempted to ask the dreeded "who has the best???. Im glad that I did the research. I have discovered so much in the last two weeks. I learn very little when the answear is easy. Thats what makes it a hobby for me. Its the hunt not the capture. Although the results of your efforts are rewarding. :) Take a look at that 217 and tell me what you think. As far as I can see the rep bands/ straps are of poor quality. I have a custom strap being made as we speek. The ss bands look good for the most part, more so on the pams. Good luck and happy hunting :) Mike

  2. Welcome Retro and Adam to RWG. Good to have you here Yep Toads Noob Guide should be the first order of bussiness. It is what realy got me going. I knew very little when I arrived. I still dont know that much. All I realy cared about was getting a nice rep and not to get riped off. I was not planing on starting a new hobby. I did not know there was such a animal. :pardon: I am now having a great time. It does not matter if it's reps or gens or whatever. It has become a great joy in my life. It could not have come at a better time. I hope your experence is the same. :drinks: Mike

  3. :welcomeani: Omega_0810. I'm a Omega kind of guy myself. Rwg has a very user friendly forum. Im a little confused about your dilemma. Click on RWG up top. Then you will see a list of catagories. Example, how you found the Intro/rules/sup section. There is a trader and dealer review section toward the bottom of the home page. This can get you started and familiar with the community. Toads Noob Guide should be your first stop, tons of infomation. Fake Master has a list of scam sites you also should become familiar with, very helpful. Like anything else the more you use it the less difficult it becomes. Just jump in there and things start to fall in place. I will tell you this, be careful. This little hobby can grab you by the ???? well you know ;) I dont think I have been that helpful but I try. I'm also very new. Good luck Omega, have fun :) Mike
  4. Welcome Rotee. The advice that Fxrandy gave you may be some of the best advice you are ever given. Take your time, your in no race. I do understand how exciting it is to find that special watch. The more you read and study this forum the better off you will be, promise. Enjoy the show ;) Mike
