Thanks for the kind words my friend. I want you to know that am really looking forward to have you guys! Will do everything (well, almost) in my power to make sure everyone will have a great time (hard to fail with that list of confirmed attendants really).. About the menu budget, I must say that €35 (+12) can be quite a challange here for a 3 course menu if you want some quality. There are cheaper alternatives of course but then it will not be local cuisine and I want you to have a nice experience! @All: Like Stephane says: don't be shy - you will not regret it! Unless you really need to hang on to those brain cells.. -

OK, everyone. Here's a small update on the subject.. Who's in/ confirmed so far: Stephane FxrAndy (+ better half) 'The other Andy' - a personal friend of mine (who also happen to like drinks and horology, albeit not being a member on this forum - yet..) solkryssare bionic tim modelizer Maybe/ hopefully: archierocks Adeodatus redwatch (if I can hook him up with a job for a couple of days) vlydog (if he can get the house ready before the 28th) I will ask a friend of mine (a great chef) to organize a 3 course menu for us at his restaurant. His challenge will be to prepare some nice local cuisine in the 35€ price range and about another 12€ supplement for those of us wish to add a half bottle of wine and a half bottle of water. Will keep everyone in the loop and update my first post when I have more info regarding the menu for the evening. -

I use the classic vintage 2mm gen Rollie springbars for mine.. Works like a charm.. Dunno who's got the best aftermarket alternative - but I'm sure somebody else will chime in with that info any second! -

As a matter of fact I do know a lot of post houses in my neck of the woods. But unfortunately most of them will be closed from mid July to mid August as there will not be much happening in the industry here in that period.. Hmm, but shoot me a PM about it and I'll check if anyone's got a project with a tight deadline in need of some class A sound shizzle! -

Just want to make sure I don't invite any undercover Rollie lawyers or face eating zombie attackers into my little nest.. -
There it is! Simply stunning! It has been a pleasure to follow this project closely and I must say that 'The Mystery Modder 2.0' (or v2?) has done a GREAT job (as usual)!

Not sure how I missed this post either?! Excellent comparison Gw4k! Looks pretty good apart from that tall crown and weird rep factory pearl!

Now that's the spirit! Don't let me down bro! Oh, and let us know ASAP if you can make it (which we certainly hope) - need some time to stash up on the vodka redbull if you do.. -
Dear all, To carry on tradition it has been proposed that the 5th Annual EU GTG take place in Malmö, Sweden on July 28th. The format for the evening will be as before - a meet and greet followed by a stroll to a local restaurant for dinner followed by after dinner cocktails in a location of your choice or return to the start location for drinks and music. Lady guests are more than welcome as are members from outside continental Europe. We will not be arranging accommodation but this thread will be updated with hotel recommendations with time, so stay tuned. Members that wish to make a long weekend (or more) will find plenty to do over including the "Scandinavian capital" - Copenhagen - just a 25 minute train ride away and very nice white fine sandy beaches nearby (make sure to check the water restistance on your gem first though). This is an opportunity to meet old friends and make new ones that is not to be missed. I for one have made some very good friends and acquaintances through these GTGs. I will be asking one thing of members that intend to take part and that is that we pay for dinner into a paypal account before the event to ensure that we can cover the costs of the restaurant in one bill. Dinner details can now be found below, I ask that those that wish to attend make themselves known here. From Stephane, FxrAndy, bionic tim and myself we look forward to yet another memorable evening and greeting old friends and making new ones. *We retain the right to vet new and unknown members who wish to attend, please dont take this the wrong way but a big part of this GTG will take place at a private venue* The dinner will be a "RWG special" 3 course menu at a nice restaurant for 440 SEK per person (about €50,5 at todays rate). This price will include two glasses of wine and coffee. The menu has not yet been set as the chefs will prepare something with the nicest available local ingredients of the season. Will know more about a week prior to the GTG and update this post accordingly.

Anybody deal with eBay seller "spliffster?"

With a seller name like that I would not expect speedy shipping.. -
Finally got my Tudor Monte Carlo parts... Now the fun begins

Ouch! Sorry to hear that M. However, this seems to be the most common result when removing the paint from the DW subdial hands - if they do turn out steel I think one should be considered very lucky. But the subdial hands on the set we found - and is about to place a group order on soon - looks very good and should need no modding.. *knocking on wood*- 46 replies

Great! You will be included in the group PM once Ephry makes room for another one..
-
Ouch! Sorry to hear that mate.. But the DW subdial hands is really a hit or miss unfortunately.. Hence the reason for this thread to unfold into a small "group buy".. You want in? (Sorry for the hijack BTW)
-
Sounds like we have a no brass group buy going on! Awesome - will include you in the PM mate! I'll check again.. [Edit: Still no luck buddy]
-
Alrighty then.. PM time! [Edit: Your inbox seems to be full mate]
-
Wow - That's a new one for me! Never seen the brass version of the DW hour and minute hands before! For me it has "only" been the subdial hands when removing the paint in the centre. Let me know if you need a DW hour and minute hand in steel (or what looks like it) mate - should have a new and unused pair in one of my parts boxes somewhere.. He's asking $88 shipped. Let me know if you are thinking about placing an order. I would not mind swapping my brassy subdial hands, so maybe we can work out a better price if ordering two sets?
-
You are absolutely right about the "handles" M. Was at the office when I posted it and my 7032 has not been worn in a while, so the accurate Yuki/ gen hour and minute hand shape was not fresh in my mind. But the other hands looks good me thinks! They are from a HK based seller on chrono24. Hour and minute hand could use a little modding to get rid of the "handles" though..

The subdial hands in the first set does not have the correct shape and the ones in the second set is too thin alá Yuki. However, this full set looks very promising:
