Judging by the pics my guess is that it does have a slim case (5513 Sub'ish) which explains the shallow rehaut. So here's your chance to grab a nice price copy of this über rare 1665!
Turkish: Fuck me, hold tight. What's that?
Tommy: It's me belt, Turkish.
Turkish: No, Tommy. There's a gun in your trousers. What's a gun doing in your trousers?
Tommy: It's for protection.
Turkish: Protection from what? "Zee Marias"?

Just checked it on his site and it does not have a HEV. Also the font of the caseback engraving is incorrect. I would add some $$ and get the 21j Cartel version for $118 instead.
I have never been questioned myself, but if someone would ask in a rude way then the classic "I dunno to be honest - took it off a dead body at [dodgy street name]" would be my choice of answer..
Otherwise: "What do you think?" and if the answer is yes then I'd follow up with "..and why is that?" to flip things around (as most people can't point out the tells anyway and those who can would most probably never ask that question). Or just a simple "Yes, it's a just a nice looking $50 knock-off that tells the time".
$100 is indeed a bit steep for tiny after market pieces like that. And Phong's price is even higher I assume?
@jmb: pretty please, with sugar on top? (I'm definitely in if you ever decide to have a go at it..)

I have also never had to pay for shipping to EU when dealing with Yuki.
BTW M, how much is their GW 1665 caseback? I could actually use one of those..
