No. But for now the previous (?) model is not available, even though most dealers show it on their websites.

Generally as Ronin says. Exception is noble metal reps, where the Gen would be solid the Rep is plated or just plain steel. Whereas a white gold Rolex looks like a steel version, it is heavier.

Vacheron Constantin Overseas Deep Stream (QC photos)
mbjoer replied to calatrava's topic in Other Brands Area
If you do, make sure to ask them first if it is still the same case back as on their website. Then make sure to get a QC picture before they send. Timesshop is not good at updating their site. -
Seller warning not to post QC pics on forum, is this normal?
mbjoer replied to picoweb's topic in General Discussion
The sellers comments are unreasonable and should be ignored. The comments QC pics have attracted here are no different in quality from other postings on the fora. It is for the purchaser to determine which comments he/she wishes to take aboard. Not everybody knows what to look for and posting on a forum can be a great help. It does not mean that all nit-opicking comments are valid, but quite a few are. When there really are issues with a watch it is much better to have then resolved while the watch is still in China. To do so should be as much in the dealers' interest as in the buyers'. I would get highly sceptical if my dealer sent me that kind of message. -
To me the size issue with the current rep is no problem. As the Gen is made in 50 copies only there as no chance that I would ever get to see one to compare a rep to. However I do hope that the new version will have super lume, top AR and deep engravings on the back. And that they will run a spell check on the case back... I suggested to Mrs King to pass on a message to the factory to show proto types of the watch here, so that silly and avoidable mistakes are avoided. But I do not think she quite understand the suggestion ..............

Perhaps a solution to your agony is around the corner: According to Connie King a new 1:1 version is on its way. I really hope the new version will be as good as the latest batch of Noob Pams.
-
If the movement is not up to scratch it may be a bit early to demand it. I know nothing about that. But if it is OK, it would be great to see it in a Patek. With proper engravings!!!
-
From Connie King. From what I hear about her, she seems to know her business, so it sounds likely to me.
-
Most anticipated, because it seems to be on the way, is the 1:1 Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Paris Boutique . The current version is too large compared to the Gen, but it does seem such an attractive watch. Hopefully the new version will live up to the standards of the recent PAMs with super lume, no-crystal AR as well as deep and crist engravings. This one deserves to be really good!
-
Unfortunately it is not. As I remember it, yours was a modded version. Considering sending if off to Goin for lume and AR as well, but the bracelet issues (it is also not that smooth) has so far held me back.

Sorry to be the troll here, but I do like it when the back of the watch is as good as the front. It seems to me that the ship on the case back is getting more and more bland as time goes by. Look at this one for comparison: That is the old Arabic Numbers version. And yes, it is a rep. I hope they will make a new version where they will pay attention to the back as much as to the front.

Got a cheap Corum a few years back as one of my first reps ever. I don't really like it that much, partly because it is not waterproof. But precisely because it is not a favourite watch it has become my "never-mind-the-dings" watch, and has proven very robust. Keeps time well and has a surprisingly good lume.

A Patek/Breguet/Lange/VC dress watch where attention has been paid to details: Engravings on movement and case back deep and crisp Sharp looking case hallmarks and (dare I say it...) no spelling mistakes...

I have unsuccesfully tried to buy the AP RO Paris Boutique. It is such a great looking watch. In the process I had an exchange with Connie King (awsome response from her - almost replies before the message is sent... ) in which she suggested that a new 1:1 version might be on the way. Very interesting news! But still looking for a current version ......

Problem: Am trying to order and have the band sent to Goin in Taiwan. But website will not accept addresses outside the US. How do I get in touch with AP Bands directly?
-
I am just putting in an order for this one: http://www.puretimewatch.com/product/day-date-ii-ss-silver-stick-dial-a3156-best-edition/ From what I can tell it is a very good replication. The dial and hands look pretty good, the case has the accurate hallmarks and the crown has the appropriate 2 dots. There is also a Roman Numerals version which is equally accurate. Naturally it is made of steel and thus not as heavy as white gold. But visually it is pretty impressive.

Rattrapante - is this the rep's next frontier?
mbjoer replied to ExtraExtra's topic in General Discussion
Who knows? Perhaps a $3,000 minute repeater? I think that is within reach, but the question is if the rep market is prepared for such an expensive item. -
Thanks for all this information. I am now ordering the strap for the "newer generation", and hope that will fit. As to the accuracy to Gen, I am not that concerned. It is a very rare beast and there are probably more reps than gens out there. To me the important thing is that it seems plausible, and from what Ihave seen of it, that will be the case. But I appreciate you highlighting this aspect as well.
-
I am in the process of getting one of these and wanted to put an AP Bands strap on it. Can anyone confirm this is what they refer to as "Older Generation Case ROO"? Also, just to be on the safe side, can anyone confirm that it is possible to switch directly from the rubber to a strap without any conversions? Many thanks.

sapphire-glass both sides antireflect for Portuguese Chronograph 3714
mbjoer replied to postvak's topic in The IWC Area
Domi did movement - a few times... I do not use it a lot as it is likely to cause trouble again. I think, but do not know for sure, that I have one the old movements with fewer jewels. Looks good but ... -

Great stuff in this thread. Thanks for showing and the excellent pictures to accompany the text. One thing I am missing though is the dealer aspect. Was he told of this? And if so, how did he react? -
As if the world stands still. The history of Trusted Dealers is full names that dropped out for whatever reason: TTK, WM9, Marvellous Replica to name a few. New and great dealers like Watchinternational would not have been found if your dogma had been followed. I agree not to suggest anyone to venture into the wild world outside the Trusted Dealers. But if anyone volunteers to do so, you and the rest of us just might benefit. So much as you should stick to your recommendation of Trusted Dealers, you should also accept if someone - fully aware of the risk - dares to chance it.
