  1. I've had several QC issues since I started buying from him last year. He's always made them right, but it's taken a long time. Sorry, but this just shouldn't happen with the cost of reps. I won't be buying from him for now, it's just not worth my time or stress. Here's the last three purchases, all with problems: BP Fifty Fathoms: Great watch, cap screws missing. Took over 2 months to get new ones PAM 026: Brown instead of pencil grey DLC PAM 364: Bad bezel alignment, crown assembly fell apart after a week I think I'll start with Angus for Noob stuff anyway, Josh/Andrew for everything else.
  2. I lost my cap screws also... Actually, they are hex or allen type sockets 0.9mm, so you should use an allen key. Although the 24mm spring bars may work, the lug width on this watch is a really odd 23mm wide, so you would need the Ø1.8 mm here http://www.uhrband24.com/23-mm-c-25_821.html If you want to use the originals, I'd suggest some Loctite Blue 242 to keep losing them.
  3. Wow... Great review, thanks for the link! That did it for me... now I just gotta convince my betterer half
  4. I'm looking for a great watch for my partner and ran across this Lady Royal Oak on PureTime: http://pure-time.com/product/lady-royal-oak-33mm-ss-silver-textured-dial-on-white-leather-strap-ronda-quartz/ Does anyone have any feedback on the quality of these and or the movement?
  5. Hi Andy... Be careful: I've lived in BKK for many years and the dealers of good quality reps are EXTREMELY FEW and FAR between... So much so that I buy all my reps from the trued dealers here, whether it be Joshua/Andrew, Angus, Sead, or Toro. The best rep dealer I know of here asked me if I can source reps for him! With you being new to reps, you will be an easy target.... The shop in Phuket selling reps for €500-700 saw you coming from far away, please stay clear no matter how many beautiful deep blue crystals they show you can be scratched with their crappy little screwdrivers! There are a few shops in MBK that have some 'OK' reps... they'll still be more that what we'd pay through the trusted dealers here. Getting good reps into Thailand is very difficult... I've been hit by customs several times this year alone. Bottom line is that the very best address in Thailand to source your reps is right here on the rep forums (take your pic)... or right in Guangzhou after much research and good contacts!
  6. sounds suspect to me... I'd be taking some more aggressive steps to get it back!
  7. Wouldn't this use an ETA 2836 movement?
  8. I got one a while back, the watch was so nice to me I didn't even do a comparison... You'd think they'd at least measure the gen... jeez! Here's my qc pic next to the gen:
  9. I'm pretty sure these: PAM 55 Titanium 44mm Luminor Solid Brown C - D only PAM 61 Titanium 44mm Luminor Solid Brown C - D only PAM 56 Titanium 44mm Luminor Solid Brown C - D only And before mentioned PAM 40.
  10. Not sure if this has been brought up before... Has anyone else noticed that the 3, 6, 8, 12 cutouts font seem a bit anorexic on the rep from the TDs photos? Gen: Rep(s):
  11. I've lived here (in BKK) for 5 years this time... I only buy from TDs
  12. Thailand in general are pretty weak on quality reps, unless you get a good dealer at MBK in Bangkok and even a few in Patpong market will pull out a good one once in a while... but you'll pay more and god only knows what's inside... If you're spending any time in Bangkok before you go back to wherever... look me up!
  13. The black color version of this is not too bad... but super expensive... somewhere in the $300 range :-S
  14. yeah, but with some diligence there could be 160 or more depending
  15. Someone... please rep the Ennebi Mictofo Bronzo Decennale:
  16. Hi Guys... I just wanted to post a pic of a great watch I got a few months ago... This is the BWB limited edition of 50 collaboration with a small watch company called Maranez based in HK... This watch is really great quality and starting to darken up a bit. Hope you like it! Here's the specs: Model: Maranez Bangla Bronze LE Movement: Miyota 9015 Automatic Size: Ø47mm excluding the crown, lug to lug 58mm, height 17.5mm with anti-magnetic inner case Case material: Bead blasted CuSn8 bronze Case back material: Titanium Crown: Screw down, bronze, Ø11mm @9:00 Crystal: Slight domed sapphire , AR coated inside Dial: Petrol blue/green. Super Luminova C3
  17. That would be great, but unfortunately, I've read that the date window for the A7753 is a bit different than the date window for the ETA 7753... can this be confirmed?
  18. I'm a mechanical/design engineer with extensive CNC set-up/programming experience as well, with a background in the aerospace/defense manufacturing as well as tool & die industries. Been using SolidWorks since before its first release back in '95 (just took the plunge to SWX '15). If you need any help with anything, I'd be excited to be part of some projects with you!! I would think that the final finishing and polishing would be the trickiest parts of completing cases and components... I've seen many times reps are mostly good except the difficult to reach areas, or that the final machining operations weren't fine enough to get the tool marks and chatter out... Keep your finish tooling sharp and your feedrates down, it doesn't have to be a race like in Guangzhou!
  19. So beautiful and so much work put into this! Well done!
  20. IMO: Pam 049 (small white), great with a pink or light blue croc Pam 050 (small black) just about any smaller size rad
  21. That is, by far, the most beautiful dial I've seen... I see a project coming up for me!
