Thank you All.. for the "real" input !!!! And to our Coach .... I definately know my "limits" as I am not going to attempt a DW swap until I feel I can do it without 20 PM's So what I'm "hearing" (reading) like any learning or training is,.... not to get into "bad habits" .. and practice .. like muscle memory in Sports comes from repititions .. Looking through the loupe is like looking throgh a microscope .. I need to "learn" to relax that one eye .. again muscle memory and training the eye muscles.. As I was one that experienced a rep that was "short cutted" I can relate to what the end product is.... it's sort of swaping the jets in a carburetor before you decide on what kind of performance you want and what type of Cam to install...... kinda like wiping your a$$ before you sh!t !!! and I will make my final "basic tool" order today.. the most basic and necessary one.... Rodico and I don't know what to do with watch paper.. but I'll order some so I will have it when I find out what it's for A nice soft florecent lamp wouldn't hurt either... .. so I can actually see what I'm doing @Ubi.... even if it's one micron in size the DUST ... when I finally learned how to take out the movement and get out that one long thin strand of lint.. it was like letting out a breath that I was holding for a year !!.. sheesh... Guy's you will be hearing from me more now... i got all the tools .. now maybe some study on the movements may be a good thing and break the habit of making toy models without using the instructions.. ( as I did when I was a kid)

This is contingent on 20 orders.. as I said.. I have my mags traken care of already... so if the 20 orders cannot be met .. then I'm afraid everyone is on their own to order seperately from ebay...

if it's an auto movement it's a little button in close proximity to the stem/crown .... if it is a manual wind.. you need to turn the scew that is in close proximity to the stem/crown 1-1/2 turns to release (better verify that ) @ terry .. I need to do that on a old 7750

yes the expensive nail polish remover is 100% pure.. stores removed the surfboard brands of 100% .... cracking (no pun intended) down on the drug labs availability.. is this method OK for the AR to follow ??

I got a asian movement out of a Pam 112 I can send you .. it arrived DOA... and my collector took care of it and sent me an additional working one... let's hook up later and I'll send you it.. it's time we "all" start doing this together.... that way we can all have a good laugh down the road..

My start was or is "born " out of necessity !!.. you recieve a rep that is 20 minutes fast everyday.. to send it back to China when all it needed was simple regulating .. but the "fear" of the unknown.. and I want to utilize Ziggy's threads more..there is a wealth of info that is going to waste for lack of understanding.. Watch repair people in the retail sector make you believe it's quantum physics .. so they can charge you 20 bucks for spring bar swaps .. or something of that nature .. so the "fear' factor is implanted in us long ago... but I know "limits" so for now I try and stay "coachable" and take it really slow... Bazz sent me a link of the basic outline of a mechanical movement.. schematic etc. ... it is very enlightening .. I should stop starring at the DVD's and start studying my "hobby" ... it would really enhance the hobby and it is very rewarding even to do the simplest of tasks..

This will IMO turn out to be more informative than I thought.. as we learn through our mistakes or others kind enough to share them with us... terry .. this has got me feelin some pain brah!! Instead of getting the whole set of bergeon screw drivers like I did ... bazz .. ubi scoobs can give you the few must have and you can get it ala carte from ofrei...

yup .. the ol "carpet patrol"... that just happened with the mag removal.. I had no idea that it would shoot off the crystal like a projectile Of course I had "no Idea" what would happen..since that was my first attempt.. second time I face the crystal toward all my pillows thrown together..

Being a elementary school student and attempting to learn the basics of "Watch Repair" ( seems more like .. how to break repair) ... I figured to ask the vets ..... back in "the day" when you were just starting ... or "attempting" to learn how to work on your own reps (in the basic sense) what was the one thing that you did that you can laugh about today.. I figure Bazz ,.. Ubi... and Scoobs..... will be laughing soon enough.. thanks for the help guy's One of those .. I can't believe I did that .. or "thought that" stories... Hind sight being 20/20 and it being the one thing that you thought only you did.... please share it ... so we can benefit from the ... faux pas.. Or at least think .... "then, what I did is not that lame..."

no worries D. .... i communicated with the vendor on ebay today.. guess he's wanting to go off ebay for this one.. I told him it is all contingent on the validating of his crystal /mag being saphire and the removal of the mag.. I purchased one off him from ebay today.. so the 20 usd shiping inclusive is contingent on 20 units... I should have the crystal by the beggining of next week.. the mail is backlogged a little due to the long weekend of July 4. ... so as soon as I verify it's all good we can get things rolling btw. I already have my mags for the GMTIIc to be AR'd .. I'm doing this just to help out members for the next AR run .. figure the only way to see everyone with a cool wrist shot So You are down.. I'm just gauging to tell him how many we need as long as the one I ordered is a go ...

maybe it's just coincidence ... but for the last 3 shipments ..express has taken much longer than normal.. are they scaling back flights also ?? a parcel that alway's took no Longer than 5 day's express to arrive at it's destination.. took 8 day's .. and parcels from china that took 4 to 5 day's is taking much.. much longer these last 2 weeks I'm just wondering if this is a sign of things to come ... everything is being scaled down..

the price for the crystal with Mag (2.5) is roughly 29.90 usd plus 7.00 usd shipping (more for outside CONUS) per crystal... so on or about 37.00 usd at regular price .. The price I am quoted for 20 units is 20 usd each shipping inclusive... If we order more quanity he would probably give a little more of a break.. so 20 crystal shipped to me for 400 usd ... No worries S... I feel like that everyday when I get home after being up @ 12 am every morning I will remove the cyclops ... Chief has said 30.00 usd for the coating NO... you will be recieving the coated mag from chief ... your crystal has the laser etched coronet @ the 6 ... up to each individual to install the mag.. we can work on a tutorial if there isn't one already available Aloha~Cheers R
