Eugene Williams, as her mother, Brandy, and sister, Mya, 8, look on. with a mentor to help them along.. some of the brave that gave everything... from different parts of the world.. all became "Sons of Hawaii" We Pray for your Families and Thank You ALL for your Courage !!!!

I was reminded of what National Holiday this is not by the beachgoers and Holiday traffic.. but by a Front page article in the Paper of a Family left behind since their Father laid down his life in Iraq 4 years ago.. Two little girls the oldest 8 and the youngest a little over 4 years... and their Mother.. opening the paper there were pages of the fallen soldiers form the Hawaii bases not just from the islands but from all over the mainland and Saipan also.. They are resting in their Home States and some are here interned at the National Cemetary of the Pacific ... "Punchbowl" On this day I put Politics aside, ... the topic of leaders with agendas etc. .. the right and wrong of the War.. And I pray for the Families that have lost.. Sons, Daughters, Husbands and Wives .. and ask that God Bless them and protect their Children from Harm.. May the Brave Men and Women that gave the ultimate Sacrifice to their Countries .. Rest In God's Peace...

It takes Rolex (by their own account.. weather it be just a marketing ploy) .. 40 man hours to produce the ceramic bezel inset .. hard to imagine.. to me it sounds like PR marketing.. but with this said could you imagine the price of such an item ?? one senoir member (not as active anymore) emailed me as a side bar.. to say that it will be available ala-carte ... the "old" ceramic is rocket science ploy..
-
.... ... ... ha...ha... well, it's in Hawaii but today being a National Holiday... it will sit in the federal institution called a Post Office until tomorrow.. then since it has been a long weekend and postal workers can work at their own pace.. hopefully i will get it tomorrow.. but it may be late in the PM due to the backup.. then i still have to get to the AD .. (this one I can go to).. to view and feel the genuine ... I am in the process of installing a DT that has been on roids.. so all said and done.. "soon"

Eh Brah !!!.. just thinking about this very topic today.. and specifically your response.... remember last year the Swiss Federation.. went after one collector in particular ... I'm sure the makers could make an exact duplicate of the genuine.. I do hold a belief that they add little flaws purposely.. ie Fonts etc... this is just a hypothesis on my part.. it may keep the powers that be off their backs but as you say HB this is a hobby and they are reps.. otherwise one may think that members are looking to pass these off as the real deal.. for what ever reason.. be it monetary or otherwise..

here is the genuine.. cyclops.. you can not really discern from this pic but the motive is they AR'd the underside of the mag so you can view the date font from a 45 degree angle instead of having to turn your wrist.. IMO they are not AR'ing the entire crystal to keep "tradition" (for lack of a better word) or to stand alone from the others in the AR trend.. sorry .. wanted to be real in the size this is exactly what has been on my mind .. why should I take the time .. most of the day .. to take pics .. do a little research.. go to the AD .. to view the genuine.. when i post a thread that will get crapped on and used for target practice.. usually by members who "announce" they will not get it .. sheesh .. or members who never take the "time" to do anything else.. poor parenting when they were kids.. .. little or no manners.. etc... sorry just venting.. thank you S... I'll share "taking one for the team"... if you'll mentor "kissing up"....

"Divine Wind" I'll take that as a compliment S .. I was actually being obtuse in my statement as I believe the "look" is very well done to rep the inner guts would not be cost efficient..agree 100 % JF.. Here is the genuine clasp.. not as simple as the earlier models Well said MP!!!... this is indicative of some of the posts... members that have done "0" to contribute to the community in either information or donation to help keep this forum alive .. take it upon themselves to critique members and mods who have contributed thier passion to this community..!!!

There are a number of ... "flaws" for lack of a better word .. IMO if they were to be repped the price would be much greater.. I payed over 400 usd for the MBK 1665 and 1680 and still had to put a lot more into modding them ... the cyclops on the genuine has AR on the underside of the mag.(only the mag) and the clasp is spring loaded on the genuine and very different from the usual clasp on the other GMT's .. there... 2 more reasons why not to get it.. .. or you could say your just having a "bad hairday.. that works too" I think we should inform the Chinese makers that members have chimed in saying they will not get this because of the clasp or bracelet or font.. earth shattering info that they "must" be aware of..

the bezel inset is not PVD.. and it is not plastic.. it is an exclusive to one collector.. so any other collector chiming in ... well you figure it out.. I'm given the specs on it and the material used .. but I will hold my comments until i view the genuine in person and then recieve the replication .. so in other words until it lands here we can all "guess"... and still you may have to purchase one yourself to be sure..

I'll know for sure by Tuesday....supposedly it is ceramic Hard to tell with the studio pics from the collectors site.. lighting play's a big role .. and the pics are alway's over saturated.. so the only way is to have one in hand.. correct hand stack looks good.. We'll See........(in other words... mine should be out of customs by Sunday)

Experience is the mother of all.. and if you have not experienced a total destruction of your timepiece.. (although it's a rep.. still a timepiece none the less) you cannot appreciate the stance that Ziggy has taken when he has spoken up about work that hurts this community rather than helps it.. I do not believe Ziggy "needs" to advertise or ride the "coat tail of inferior work" just to gain more customers.. what members don't seem to understand is that he is a perfectionist and stands behind his work ... I see him take flack from members who are swayed by the masses.. yet he stands alone in calling these so called modders on the carpet.. when my "drama" was in it's apex flav pm'd me and asked for it to stop.. well he started the post ... he also offered other options .. some members are swayed by "free" parts... for me it was about the principle of the actions... knowing he did inferior work and making comments like " if you don't like it go buy a genuine" what I CANNOT believe is here you have a member charging outrageous prices for work that is not even done .. and when Ziggy brings it to the attention of the forum.. he is accused of wanting to have it "all" when you are the best at what you do.. it is easy for others to be jealous and envious.. the point I am making is that people would rather believe the BS that certain modders put out.. Zig has stuck his neck out for this community and then members from other forums take shots at him.. that's why i tend not to visit the other forums... I am a member who wears the "Colours" of RWG.. I see members take info from here .. claim credit on it on other forums.. Ziggy has tried to help other forums by giving his post to others to post on their forums only to be mocked... Now I can expect this on the other forums.. but when our own do it.. that is unexceptable time and again he has given warnings and post pics.. yet members still say he does this for his own personal gain.. that is the biggest Bull Excrement floating around !!!!!

The one thing about my pieces that I can count on for exellence is and has been Ziggy's work on them... I have long since accepted that no matter what condition they arrive at out of the box they will not be 100 % until i mail them off to Canada. Having experienced Flavs work or lack thereof at a very high price .. and being dragged through the coals on the board after he accused me of trying to Blackmail him.. when what was read on my PM was after trying to reason with the man about my non functioning watch ... and yes I lost my Temper.... i am sure there are still members who are upset about it... that the truth came out through pics of the work that destroyed my 029 and that Ziggy spent hours on and then ultimately had to start over with a new dial and hands. I have projects back that I don't post or even put up on the wrist checks.. I don't want to get caught up in the "can you top this?" ... attitudes.. etc.. .. so I enjoy the mods for my own satisfaction... maybe in time I will post more of Ziggy's magnificent work .. he has been the heart and soul of this forum... and his informational threads cannot be found anywhere else.. for me it has been and alway's will be ... quality and not how much time or post anyone has.. I guess the Forum is evolving .. Thank you Ziggy for your up front honesty.. i alway's say whats on my mind ... better that then BS then take jabs in someones back.. Aloha~Cheers Lani

I'll check ..... I think the Graham line will be like the Panerai's ... many different models to be repped.. I think I'll see what comes out on the flops.. ... Looks like this is a great rep.. but maybe just a teaser..of many to come.. so before I go "all in" I think I'll sit back and take a look..and see what cards are played out..

@andreww.... been wondering just this week where you've been ... to me you were synonymous with Breitling ,.. but it's like anything time away makes it better the next time .. and for me some small thing could trigger it.. a new strap,.. a new model repped.. or just the right pic .. whatever the reason ... I don't think my passion is waining ... just resting .. gotta admit a lot of energy is put into researching ... posting.. posting new releases.. sometimes a break is in order.. taking a break from posting wrist checks ..I'm sure it's common with a lot of members.. normal actrually OR>>> Seasonal ??..... Seems like a lot of members are on the same page. Now that I have all the Lello DW's .. my Palms are starting to take some form.. I think I put them on hold for the simple reason that I could no longer look at the font in the DW's .. and because this hobby offers such a wide range of really good reps now .. choices are available in a wider range of timepieces.. I'm wearing a lot of the Rolex models now... but after having the IWC 3717 over a year and putting that down,. until I could get that proper.. with HK strap ..Dw .. now it is whole.... so gaining interest again in it... It ebbs and flows in cycles .. what looked really good last year is now hibernating..and what was dormant last year, is this years flavour.. I have my 250 that I got in 06 and finally have the parts and ability (for the crystal removal) to get the ball rolling .. it's all relative..

Coming in late.. but this was Monday.. And this will be Tuesday

Agree !! when I took a reality check I reasoned that the cost are outwieghing the end result ... the end result being to "Mod" the MBW .. I'm not even going for a genuine bezel.. I'm sticking with the Wholesale outlet variety .. although it's not 100% it will do for my purpose.. which is not to "pass" it off as a genuine.. but to have a "replication" that I'll be happy with..
-
I stopped bidding on one @280.00 it sold for 450.00 .. ordered a clark.. it doesn't make any sense to me to go that route.. after all is said and done the timepiece will still be a rep...

Just react the "Old Fashion Way".. beat the Sh!T OUT OF THEM and tell them if they ever dis you again.... Nah... have you experienced this>>?? I have experienced the opposite... a couple of men that frequent the coffee shop and juice bar in the morning have made it a point to raise their watch up in what ever way they can .. while they stand too long in front of their Porsche or BMW or one in front of his classic Ferrari... well turns out their watches are reps.. a PAM .. and 2 Rolex.. long story on how i let them know I knew (not with words).. but whenever they see me now they look soooo embarrased.. I don't know why.. I got on a rep.. but they don't know that.. probably because i never made a big deal of it .... but everytime they see me they want to go hide in the opposite direction..someday we will have a big laugh over the fact that I never "called" them out and I am wearing reps too.. so the moral of the story is ... "your not that important".. meaning everyone is not concerned with your watch.. and the people that mind don't matter and the people that matter .. don't mind.. just don't make a big deal of your watch and if someone compliments you just shrug it off as"no big deal".. (cause it really isn't) relax..

Thank you for stating that point Ken.. I would rather pay a little more markup .. knowing that if the product is defective i will not hassle nor stress about getting a replacement .. and parts if need be.. Remember, TWP made this statement under extreme (IMO) duress ... usually when something is too good to be true .. it is too good to be true.. and since there are so many scammers that can call themselves "factories" this would never be a safe bet...
-
could you be more specific and give some examples ?? I speak for myself but I am sure like myself most members with time under their belts are talking from experience,.. after buying and dealing with collectors for so long.. as far as "sponsored".. or talking money under the table so to speak.. that is really blowing smoke ..!!! ... how many transactions have you made ?? and this has been said enough ... but it is the nature of the business which happens to be illegal.. I think all of the RWG collectors back their sales ... it may take time and not in the time frame we are used to because of logistics... i still am waiting on some repairs to return .. but they will return .. i have had more defective watches (that have always been replaced) than i can remember.. in other words your "seniors" have a track record of information.. weather the new members care to follow "experience" or just think they know better is up to them .. the point is everyone is here to help.. but what is frustrating is to spend time out of the day explaining.. answering Pm's and then the new member goes the opposite way.. a short time later he or she will post on the board and whine about just the thing they were warned against... then do you blame "seniors" for taking the approach which you may call "stubborness"... I mean .. common sense tells you this is a unique hobby and not subjected to the normal guidelines of buying from "shop NBC" ... granted there are those who can be a little more tactful.. this may in times be due to the different cultures and languages .. but the bottom line is RWG offers more support and information than you can find on line .. (I'm sure the other rep forums are also supportive) ..but what do we do ?? call out your collector ?? I have solved my issues with my collector in private.. in the past if the collector has left me holing the bag.. then simple.. i "speak with my wallet" it's a numbers game... luck of the draw... how the stars are aligned.. take your pick .. but regardless.. I and we... as a community are not perfect .. but tell me where you will find the positive support as you will here.. not just for reps... gotta take the good with the bad man... just my 2.....
