Whats a reasonably sized rep collection?
lanikai replied to DemonSlayer's topic in General Discussion
I'll acknowledge the "personal choice" mind set..... like art some collectors like to have them just to view.. admire.. some collectors like to put them on display.. there are different psyches for collecting reps.. if it were just about keeping time then none of us would be here. like kruzer said: .. it changes... and what might have been shelved a year ago now is being admired and worn.. but some just are taken out and admired..and worn wilst enjoying my favorite cigar of the day.. replica's of the genuine article are not (for me) just about keeping time or even wearing for that matter.. in some part it is about the History of an era...ie: Panerai.. IWC Pilot watches and the "hobby" of modding them ...the quest to perfect the flaws there is no way to actually wear all my replica's... sometimes I'll wear 3 different reps in one day.. that is definately not just a time piece when you do that... Life is about variety at times... or it gets very boring -
Never Posted a Wrist Check.. but somewhere in our community it's the Middle of the week So I would like to start it with SOSF And continue with the Omega Speedmaster / Date ; hkt antique Alligator Just realized .. that's it for me posting until the weekend

I believe Lello had gotten enough request to start this project ... that would be icing on a very delicious cake..

my point being; how can you be "accused" of anything? who is the responsible party in this issue... not you, not the rest of the members in the group buy.. i just cannot see how a "solution" would be brought about on this board ?? If it's a debate you are interested in then I would equate it to a game of slow table tennis.. back and forth..is all.. Neil has obviously made many enemies with his sharp tongue, and up until recently for lack of a better word .. exclusive sales of MBK-MBW... "monopoly" would be a very charged word... so there are many that would like to see him fry.. I have been at the recieving end of his so called "wit" But I don't in anyway believe that Neil is a "scammer" in anyway shape or form.. and this is coming from a member who has nothing to gain nor loose by stating this.. with all his percieved faults.. Neil may be a person who is vindictive and would withhold sending out the watches immediately for the simple reason of "getting back" at those who are ... in his mind messing with him.Look at the members who have not recieved any communication from him.. just a coincedence that they are the members who stood up to him and in a "no holds barred" posting of his business ethics.. or "scamming accusations" ? I don't think this is a coincedence in anyway.. is it right ..NO... is Neil capable of this behavior... YES... IMHO And that is why my suggestion that it would be better to face the man rather than him not even being able to view these posts my suggestion as I stated was ..."just a thought" .. but i have explained my thought out more thoroughly.... Sure this talk will get back to him.. but what good will it do here ?? other than to flame the man... you want bantar.. or a solution? or better yet .. your timepiece that you already paid for ?? and in closing .. I Don't blame anyone for being as emotional because the principal coupled with the money dished out already (no matter if it is 1.00 or 100.00) .. makes it all the more grating... IMHO all the postings here are not really helping the members who are without their watches.. and if you say it will hurt his sales on the the only board he is allowed on... Well, it would seem to me ..Neil has made his bed... and it's "his" choice to loose sales .. not the members who are left without what they bought and paid for..and have yet to recieve.......... Edit add:... it has come to mind that ... Neil has already made the decision to loose sales.. past tense forget the watches .. a Refund is in order here.. members here have a very vital fact ... "Truth" .. you hold the truth in your hands.. validated proof that the watches and communication have been ignored.. no "wit" needed.. simple ... TRUTH..

don't you think all this would be more effective on RG ??? Just a thought..

Omega Railmaster 39,2 mm - Pictorial and review.
lanikai replied to Stephane's topic in The Omega Area
to do a little comparison.. it would seem like the sunlight brings out the texture of colour you are discussing ryaku.. look at the area around the 12 and 1 marker.. seems like in more natural lighting the dial takes on this look.. I'll try for a pic in the sunlight tomorriow.. -
it takes that long for the parcel to get to the post ...paper work... scanned.. departure.. then tracking is available...but you will get a tracking number right away.. read the above posts... you can check with USPS tracking right away.. better than the chinese EMS.. I get mine about 4 day's after it is actually on board the plane.. but first timers get it put on the slow boat out of China.... mmmm that sounds like an old line...

As a right of passage if this is your first order it goes to Chinese Customs as a way of payment .. after the first one it should be fine .. no more problems after this.... so just order another rep now..... and if someone shows up at your door step showing what looks like a badge.. well....
-
My first rep was a ... fiddy, BR Bently and Sub.... somethings never change even after all these years.. hey You guy's are strange... ...... .............

Yup anticipation is 99.9% of the fun.. remember your "first time".. wait what forum am I on.. oh ... shoot ..... replica.. ok .. anyway you will alway's remember the first one.. clockguy.. now the time will crawl .. because you'll be checking the tracking every hour...

Getting rid of sunlight swirls on polished band
lanikai replied to UB7's topic in The Breitling Area
ok.. so you don't believe me I pm'd you the same thing.. so if that is not working it must be the cloth your using after you rub the swirls out with the cape cod.. you need the semi swede cloth .. let me see if I can dig one up to send you.. sheesh.. little Bro needs one now with his .."Genuine" wouldn't be right to walk around in the Sun with "Swirls" people are bound to talk.... only joking man.. I'll see if I can find the cloth.. -
All I can say is .. best to stick with the collectors on the RWG board.. members in the EU would know whom best to deal with outside the forum as they have the "experience" with other sellers.. But to point, on your initial question on the "EB" instead of "EA" ... this has to do more with the printing of the Express forms .. they (like everything else) print them up in huge batches... they also come in EJ...EO... etc. Makes sense at least the bean counters can tell from the alpha's when batches were printed.. good luck

Without an essay type post on the Chins EMS.. long story short .. most if not all of "sellers" or Collectors depend on "forwarders" to get parcels out of China... these are people in the profession of assuring the proper taxes are paid and see to it that the package is actually on it's way out of China and past Chinese customs... Remember China is not known as the "land of the free" .. the Chinese Customs opens all packages leaving China (info from someone in the US Government on China's relations with the US) .... there was a period in 06 where it took over a month for me to get my parcel.. forwarders were being raided and had to move goods all around the place.. (someone forgot to pay their "tax" .. ) at times I can get a tracking number before the order goes into the maker.. it will take a little time before the forwarder even gets the paper work done on it..so if you get a tracking number and it does not appear on the USPS site check with your collector.. only once did the forwarder forget to pick up the rep and ship it out... one time in 2 years is not bad.. I could get into all the reasons for Drop shipping but I'll pass on that .. you figure it out.. I would not be woried about your parcel being stolen... that's why it is important to have a collector that guarantees delivery... the worst that happened to me is I was charged tax on a breitling rep .. the Bentley.. about 50 usd.. it happened once, it was an isolated instance Customs in the US knows what is going on, they turn the other cheek .. they routinely every once in a while open the package .. just for procedure.. usually when it is slow for them and they don't have any urgent drug investigations.. ( I have a friend in Home Land Security Airport Branch) Customs is always more lax in the midwest.. non "Port Cities" have no problem most times with even embargoed goods .. I find SFO to have a history of Holding parcels .. they have the right to hold it up to ... I forget if it's 30 day's or 90 day's...I once viewd the secured area of all the confinscated goods in Hawaii.. it is on one of the piers and the vaults are surrounded by razor wire and tons of security.... You should see what they GOT... makes you drool.... The RED FLAG for them is when one parcel has 2 or more of the same model, or seperate parcels with repeat models..,.. (if they do find this and your parcel is confinscated your address is then "red flagged") in their system..... that is a sure sign that the reps are for re-sale.. and they come down heavy on that .. it turns from our "hobby" to ..."counterfeit for profit".. commercial resale.. better have a good Attorney or many alias's if you are planning to be a collector in the US.. or have a very sophisticated method of getting the reps in.. Demonslayer .... I would get in touch with your collector.. sometimes they get tracking numbers mixed up or like I stated once my watch was somehow missed in the order to the factory and the forwarder did not ship it.. it's all good .. just check with your guy.. or gal.. ,

During the ending of 07 China's EMS started using the "EB" now here in the US.. USPS started the "EB" series of Alpha's right after the New Year (our new year).. maybe it has to do with the year... or just not repeating the same set of numerals after the Alpha.. what ever the reason it does not seem to affect shipping in anyway ~

Here you go Rxus Let me know if there is a particular angle or concern you have.. the Graphite dial has the Lello DW .. BCE V-2 black dial is going to get one the Graphite looks a little darker than it actually is in the side by side pics.. the last solo pic of the graphite is a bit more realistic...the sub dials are black where the dial is more ash-black a very dark grey if that'll help you picture the true colour.. sorry .. it's reaching twighlight here.. correct red lettering in "Automatic".. they both have silver rings around the subs and thin concentric rings in the subs... and rings on the outer portion and in the middle of the dial... all hands are silver.. the pearls are centered very nicely it was hard to get a close up of both so these are cut out a little but check out the black dial in TT the gold in the sticks IMO really bring out the AR and the black dial.. this dial may look even better with the numeral TT version.. Aloha lani ...ps.. I would have posted my white dial with numeral as IMO it is the best numeral in ss.. but it is on a trip at the moment.. Sorry .. got a LITTLE carried away in the moment

Omega Railmaster 39,2 mm - Pictorial and review.
lanikai replied to Stephane's topic in The Omega Area
Thank you very much for your time Stephane.. the pics are great as is your review I agree whole heartedly with your assesment of this Replication.. the maker did a great job of it the font on the dial is very crisp and the lume is first rate (for out of the box) The rep straps that come with the Railmaster 39.2 IMHO is the best reptile grain bar none.... If I may add and share with you my Railmaster in 39.2 and 47 mm or 49 mm cannot remember.. it is oversized for my wrist ... but at the price who could resist?? Big Brother
