Q. ... why would you want to take a "rep" on an excersise that counts on precision and "working" capabilities.. unless your talking about free diving at minimal depth.. why risk it .. just a thought

ok,.. so the gold dial with gold markers does exist,.. thank you good to know.. the one i have posted is a cream -champagne colour... the pics off the collectors sites have the saturation level in the digital image reduced.. the ones from the collectors at least for now are "very light cream" colour.. now the only rep left without verification of the genuine is the "White SS" model... edit Add:.. i keep trying to desifer if the cream colour comes from the light bouncing off the markers and hands this is what colour yours eyes will see even in strict light.. for effect I am posting this particular pic again.. now the question is... is the genuine this colour or silver white ?? or bleached white ?? .. that will be the determining factor in the replication.. edit add: the subs oare not dark as in this pic..

go with the V-2 version if available.. black with sticks .. double AR should be available..

I was charged Duty 2 years ago on the Breitling Bently ,although the collector attaced a minimal $ amount ... the US customs sent a letter to the post office declaring not to release the watch until the duty was paid.. i ended up paying 50.00 usd .. so in that instance it didn't matter what was declared ... one other member in 06 in the UK was charged a lot more.. you can alway's refuse the parcel.. Seems like this is happening with more frequency in the last week .. there are other instances of this here in the US.. but members have not posted it (witinin the last week).. it appears that the powers that be want their "cut" too..

Z... it is the cream dial.. the pics you posted are because of the "saturation level" in the image processing (too white)... the pics you saw of my Portofino is the actual "cream" or champagne colour.. the only 2 that IWC list in their catalouge at the moment is the black dial and the cream dial with gold stick markers and gold hands.. the lower pic you have is the correct one..the gold and white dials are not listed .. that does not mean they don't exist... but you will be happy with the cream colour dial,.. IMO it's the best looking one.. one other point the colour of the gold markers is more a 18k look .. very nice darker looking gold... it really is not the light tone of 14k like in the pics the collectors have. and Thankyou .... got this last year after waiting the better part of 06 for it.. i have the case set with the double AR but i think I'll be sneding it to jakub or chieftang for their AR the AR that certain collecotrs had for this rep is no where near our 2 coaters standards.. this was sent to me in error with just single AR then my collector sent the whole case set to me with the corrected double Ar..

comparison looking at the rings through a loupe the rep is recessed more than the pics will show.. the light bouncing of the gold makes a difference.. but the rings on the rep are definately thinner.... well, if not for those rings being thinner we would have a definate winner.. but second place is the first to loose.. thank you scoobs for finding the genuine pic edit add: the stick markers on the genuine appear to be rounded as well .. the rep seems square

the rings appear to be on the "sharp" side..where the genuine seems to be more "rounded" IMO took this with the cannon...(lazy)

Ok scoobs... the sub second @9 is definately recessed on the pic..the hour @6,... and minute sub @12 are bordered with a gold ring.. I'll take macro pics some time this week..

The dial does not seem to be a cannabalized piece.. I'll try to take more detailed pics today scoobs... stayed up too late and payed for it trying to get up at 12 am.. sheesh.. slept through 3 different alarms.. and they are the loudest known to civilized man.. they appear recessed as I looked through a loupe at the dial.. the stain finish is very very fine ...and the concentric rings in the sub dials (my favourite) are very well done.. kruzer00 Posted Today, 01:58 AM Lanikai- I know this is subjective but how does it feel on the wrist? yes the new generation Tag .. does have AR and the display case back.. @LR.. everyone including my collector say's the Arington S. has the wrong case back.. I think I can live with that though... the dial is "fat"

I don't know.. .. i don't collect watches just to wear.. i like viewing them as art.... i may wear a few during a 24 hour period... and my attraction changes from month to month at times.. beleive it or not I wear them most of the time.. when I don't come into contact with a lot of people.. so they are mainly for "personal " enjoyment..

Actually i wanted the SS version dial.. my collector said that the ss is not listed on the genuine catalogue.. I asked to be sent the most accurate.. and this is it.. the pics on the collectors site does not do this dial justice.. fo real !!

it is "Fat" meaning cool.. .. between 12 and 14 without looking at the genuine or rep specs.. the strap takes everything away from the piece... gotta get one made.. genuine alligator would really top it of .. no doubt !!

Sometimes less is more .. so for the Tag link I choose to single AR it.. Jakub did a brilliant job IMO AR enhances the dial as much as deflects light off the crystal.. so i am not so concerned with the disappearing crystal in the Tag but I wanted to enrich the dial..since this model tag does not have AR on the Gen. Wada ya think ? the crystal won't disappear with the single AR but it's like pasing a gemstone throug gamma.. it just enhances the colour.. (not changes it) .. but brings it "out"..IMO anyway

IWC Portofino Chrono No time for a review .. now.. but I had to get these pics up since it is one of the richest combo dial and markers ... IMO Cream (Champagne) dial/gold markers and hands 44 mm case to crown ss case A7750 Double AR sub seconds @9 min. @12 hours @6 the dial is satin finished the subs are concentric rings.. they will change their colours according to the lighting.. from the same as the dial to gold to darker and lighter.. only drawing of the genuine so until i can find a real life image.. i won't do a full assesment..

Well tazz just increased the price to 450 usd .... way to go tazz Actually I'm in for 1 or 2 .. but then again I'm easy .. but not cheap This piece will get alot of glares of WTF.. the older generation may need chiropractic assistance when they have that knee jerk reaction once they see you walk by.. the younger generation may relate... after all if they can pierce thier entire face then $hit they better not critique this watch And if you wear this into a strip club you have the dubious honour to say .."these pair aren't real either" I actually find the Swordfish to be attravctive in a morbid sort of way.. ...they probably look better after a few rounds at the pub and no where to go after it closes..
