  1. Starting the Week of with the Pam 207a Daylight ...Slytech have a Great Monday ALL !!!!!!!
  2. thank you sssurfer and merrickv.... if Ziggy does it a certain way then i will research more or if he ould be kind enough to drop a post here .. i would appreciate it... it may seem easy to those who have done it.. but i would rather not learn by mistakes (my own).. i will go ahead and order a crystal press.. see if anyone can post pics or see if I can find a watchsmith that will give a quick tutorial.. for me .. trying to follow written instructions without visual is kind of like me trying to explain to someone in a letter the theory and method of "bench pressing" .. and kinestetically using your lats, traps, pecs ... limbs in a certain angle and sequence .. at the same time coordinating that with the 3 parts of the lift.. and someone just following the written explanation to do it.. I am determined to do this right and not by experimentation either.. so thank you very much for your input .. maybe i can digest some of this and go to the next step .. i have a couple of dead movements that I can try .. and see what problems i encounter.. thanks again.. lani
  3. Hi M,.. thank you you have done crystal removal and install for me and there has never been a problem.. however I would like to be able to do this basic chore myself for the simple reason of convenience.. logistics and availability ... I can get more crystal out..and to Chief.. does anyone have pics ?? or is it the same as removing the rolex stem ? In what position does the stem need to be in upon removal.. time setting.. calendar setting.. fully closed setting ?? and in what position when reinstalling; and does it make a difference when you reinsert the stem as to where the crown is or was.. i know this sounds like a lot of questions for something that in most members experience is simple .. but in my minds eye it is hard to get a picture.. how can the "key less works" be damaged or: the does and don't of this? I see most pics .. the crystal being removed with the thumbs of ones hand .. is this acceptable ?/ i for sure will get a crystal press to reinstall though thanks in advance Lani
  4. HI, in an effort to maximize chieftangs AR coat because Ziggy can only do so much ... i need some direction so i can remove the crystals form the watches .. i would be exstatic and in euphoria if i could have some instruction on how to do this.. also those extremely annoying dust flakes on the dial that appear from no where, it would be nice to get them out of the dial..!! I am willing to invest in a crystal press and what ever tools I need... all i wanna do is remove the crystal ... .. not change the face of the Western World... are all the crown removals the same ?? Are there screws holding down all movements ??what attention do you pay tot he chrono pushers ?? how to store movements until the crystal is reinstalled ?? any help would be greatly appreciated... I did do a serch but could not find any comprehensive tutorials on this .. Rolexes yes.. but I don't need to right now and the keyless works can wait.. thanks in Advance aloha Lani

IMO .. just something to look at for now.. i like the fact that unlike the 07 model they are luming the coloured inner bezel .. @it... i'm sure once it hit's the AD the ball will start Rolling.. this is like a given i think.. @pix... yes.. let's lite a candle for the inner bezel

  8. Beta's love was unconditional... like all the creatures other than us humans... we're all tough when it comes to physical events.. but the love of your dog... alot of times,.. I'd rather be with them than humans.... spell ... DOG... backwards ... and that's... GOD (love)... that goes straight to the heart of us tough guy's..
  9. I was thinkin (trying not to make it a Habit ) .. i "need" to learn to remove the crystals from watches.. the cystal press is relatively inexpensive... I could only imagine the possibilities in have the ability to do that.. need to do some research.. time to take action..
  10. SP.. i am so sorry for your emptiness today.. there is nothing more saddening today..Beta 's pain and suffering is over .. the Hardess responsibility to fulfill is when the day comes to say goodbye.. it is never easy this is Pua and Koa when they were pups.. joined at the hip they were.. inseperable.. the 3 of us... the day that Pua let me know with her eye's that is was time for the final trip to the vet she loved.. was the hardest thing for me.. but she let me know it was going to be all right.. she told me with her eye's that..."we had many happy and sad moments throughout the years but now she was in pain and tired and needed to go... and that i needed to let go ,because she was going to be OK.. and she knew I was going to be OK.. and to take care of Koa..".. she too could not stand up or move much.. so she told me with her eye's.. and miraculously she even wagged her curly tail again.. and that 's when I knew it was OK.. when Pua was being taken in on the table to the examining room she found it in her to turn her head at me, when for weeks she could not move.. and this (pic above) is exactly how she looked at me .. as if to say.."thank you for taking care of me through all the years"... and through my tears .. I said aloud,.. "NO.. thank you for taking care of me all these years" both Pua and Koa have visited me in my dreams.. and they are together again joined at the hip .. they have shown me that they are fine and together again and happy.. and although I miss both of them sooo much I know they are OK.. I keep their pictures on my fridge.. I still see them everyday.. often.. I believe your Beta will do the same ... when she comes to you in your dreams she will be so happy to see you and let you know everything is OK Lani
  11. Grreeaatttt everything Pix.... saying anything else would not do your thread justice.. so nuff said.... thank you Lani
  12. I agree.. when is the last time we saw chromium on any watch.. and if it is chromium then it has to have a copper base but also it would have a nikel covering over the copper... what was the point of that "joke".. enquiring minds want to know
  13. genuine used as sample....the movement will not have to be modified... should be exciting
  14. well, the congrats go to you IT.... looks GOOOODDD you wear it very well my friend !!!!!! it was made for your wrist.... Live Strong and Wear it Well !!!!

  16. @ Dani ... yup dogs are the coolest creatures on the planet.. unconditional to the max !!.. looks like yours just woke up in that pic and is trying to smile @ hyster.. my ex is british.. not England's fault .. but i forget ... what is the equivalent in lbs. to a stone ??
  17. My heart bleeds for you P4 .. life is sooo unfair .. keep it simple I believe it has been done a number of times.. as we say in the islands..."SO WHAT"... Ainokea .. translation... "I don't care".. just joking with you froggy.. actually if I'm having one of those day's and I spot your avatar i chuckle to myself.. kermit...hehee thanks LR.. Bob Marley ROCKS !!! ... all this just gives me insight into this community and the fact that we are alot more than just watches.. and that the world can respect everyones beliefs .. or Mana o`..... even little Green Jedi's... ....
  18. Beautiful Cabriolet..... I had a 356B coupe.. zenith carbs .. wish i had it today.. when the Boxsters came out I told a friend who at the time was driving a 911.. that I thought it was really cool the Porsche was bringing back the style of the 50's and 60's ... he thought I was talking through the side of my throat... I still believe that the Boxster has the styling lines of the 356 series .. I miss the whine of the air cooled engines.. Porsche just couldn't keep up with the other European makes with out going to water cooled.. they have been working with Harley Davidson... they helped design the new V block that Harley uses now.. HD couldn't get any more HP from the old V-twin.. so Porsche helped design the new engine.. in simple terms the V has been widened..but to me that has made the thumping of the engine that was signature HD different... aahhhh "change we must" So true Raijor... Dr. Ferdinand Porsche... designed the 356 for total functionality,... the faster you travel the more control you gain ... the nose of the car is pushed down by the stream of air flowing over it.... and the flow continues over the roof down the engine back and folds towards the bumper giving more of a push ... Brilliant... no need for rear spoilers ... and such Power for a 4 cylinder engine... it is still an engineering marvel...... it's nice to see Porsche coming back with the smooth flowing lines in today's models..
  19. after readily recognizing the cool avatar's on the board i am curious to find out what the theme is for you ? .. I see you as not a face but an image or theme .. so what is yours.. I'll start.. mine is of energy.. pure energy moving half way across the world and landing on the shores of the Islands in the form of waves.. my avatar is the "Banzai Pipeline".. at Ehukai beach park on the North shore of Oahu.. these waves are made from the energy and power of the storms in the Artic.. the waves on the south shore are from storms in the Antartic.. the continental shelves have a lot to do with the power and size of the wave.. but getting back to my avatar.. waves are created by pure energy traveling through the water in a circular motion.. the water does not move until the energy hits the shores and the reef and shelves.. so like the movement of a mechanical watch the power is created by the mainspring and the energy is dispersed through the various levers an gears .. and ends up with the movement of the hands.. sort of like how the waves are created.. and having surfed the Pipe.. and having it have the better of me many times.. (the water is about 5 feet deep in certain areas.. with lava rock .. very sharp on the bottom) .. but if one doesn't give up ... getting "tubed" .. standing up and being in a rolling tunnel of water and energy... can be surreal and very spiritual... such is Life... below is a pic of "Jaws' on the island of maui.. tow in surfing... insane.. but big enough to draw on .. the energy starts somewhere half way around the world.. like throwing a rock in a pond.. and the energy created starts it's journey through the oceans and ends up on the shores of the Islands.. pics below are memories from parts of my life.. the far left pic is the beach about 3 blocks from my home when I was growing up .. my brother and I went there daily after school.. my Father took us fishing there.. by the man made island the water gets chest high at high tide.. and below the knees at low tide.. we went 'bamboo' fishing there and at night too.. during certain times of the year.. the next pic is Waikiki.. next to the "Wall" where i body boarded as a kid.. and live close by now.. the rest of the pics are of lanikai at sunrise.. the point at lanikai.. and the Koolau Mountain range at the other end of kailua.. and through waimanalo and kaneohe.. another shot of the PIPE..Diamond Head from Waikiki.. and desert from my fav Sunday Brunch place.. and the warning sign for tourist... they walk into the water and get thrown around.. or worst.. I want to hear everyone elses story or theme.. and if this has been done before.. DO IT AGAIN thanks Lani
  20. .. "Good" seems to be the "buzz word" heeaa.... ooohhh nnoooo ... you got a genuine bez for the SA.. "I hate you" what on the CD..What? ..what?.. i take back everything good I ever said about you K... .. you sure know how to take the air outa a guy.. I know you have one of the best collections around... well maybe .. kinda great..... somewhat nice.... I mean it's OK... ok..ok.. I'm ok .. i'll just trudge along with my "good' collection.. well Good is better than bad... can't wait to see the pics.. Maybe.. ..edit.. ok gotta be Chieftang D-AR..
  21. d4 reviewed a Graham by a different maker than the Graham Oversized Chrono fighter.. the Graham made by the maker of the HBB and the just released Chopard is first rate,, no dust collecting on my Chopard..it started with the 06 IWC CD.. that seemed to have been the turning point for the rubber straps..IMO NO DOUBT.. ... well if another MB comes out soon .. the review and pics will have to be "honours" to you..
  22. thanks kruz.. you have been a solid "sounding board" from day one for me and i thank you for that... i know if your opinion is the same .. then i must be on the right path.. I got this over a year ago so it's like getting a new watch all over again.. my Breitling Super Avenger is going to be AR'd.. anxious to see what that mega thick crystal will look like.. even with the improper closed 4 on the bezel i think I may actually start wearing it.. all 2 lbs. of it thank you S~ there have been many pics of ziggy's wonderful work.. the slevin will be next.. the 07 CD needs mainly his tech knowledge in servicing the movement @48 hours and the A7750 is still running spot on..
  23. I'm actually going to try it on a pipe stand I have made of pexi..like toomuchgears vintage pieces .. they look really great the way he has them "looking' vintage.. but sh*it i jus cannot bring myself to put even a feather scratch on this piece.. i must say though it looks too "new' for a vintage piece..
  24. whaoo.. go figure... man i never would have guessed that something as abbrasive as brasso could be used on pexiglass.. thanks SL... you first though
