so where does.. "radiomir come from and other historical facts from the watch we covet with so much passion? for those of you who want to go back in time... (more for the members who want a history lesson).. http://www.panerai.com/s_storia.xpd?mode=r...3&anno=1860 enjoy... and much more info... or ask sssurfer or kruzer sorry.. i don't consider Movie Stars.. Panerai history.. maybe i'm just old fashion and go more for the "History" and not the 'Trivia"
-
too long for me to attempt to explain.. so here you are with the entire panerai history and other very useful tech info enjoy... or simply PM sssurfer http://www.panerai.com/s_storia.xpd?mode=r...3&anno=1860 I never get tired of this chronicled history .. especially the old photos of the "Family' and the very posh web site.. .. I am attracted to watches in large part because of the history behind the Time pieces... and the panerai is rich in history .. maybe because of the mystic behind the Italians... ( don't get a big head sssurfer )I love the history .. but ssurfer ..kruzer..they are the ones to go to for the detailed tech support.. they probably know every "tooth' in every gear in the panerai's

The 3717-2 Spitfire White Dial (new release) arrived yesterday.. going to pick it up today..... Pics in a few hours ... SOS any of yous .. who would like to take a peek .. in case yous all were thinking of picking one of these up... what, you think I post for ego...and attention ... ggeezzz.. I just love the brutality of yous guy's .. warms my heart ..back after lunch with pics ok ...here they are [attac meant=17583:IMG_1762.JPG] this is an add on pic with a little better lighting Well ... I .... really like this one.. silver white dial... subtle silver with white.. fairly good detailing on the dial... hard to tell with the IWC site.. drawing of genuine only.. but the sub dial numerals look very good compared to the genuine. hands are all silver... it picks up reflections easily ... i don't have the tent as Pugwash' pro set up so a note ... the only black in the dial would be the sub dial numerals.. at first glance the 0 on the 10 looked misaligned but after looking at the genuine this looks like it was purposely done... (from what I can see of the genuine 0.. correct me if I'm wrong...) may want to check the day window.. looks like it just clears the FRI ... something to note on the Genuine Crowns screw machining is like a Rep.. ruff so be careful .. make sure you 'seat" the threads slowly..any sign of resistance.. back it up and start again... it will save you a lot of heartache .. (more for those without experience in rep screws) the bracelet clasp is rather good compared to other Replicas.. solid feel to the clasp. I have no mm calipers but the tale of the tape seems close enough to the genuine.. height may be off by .02mm close enough the AR is very ..very lite... it is a white dial so I rather like it that way... I will be back to ascertain the hands later... the Lume is very good as far as "out of the box".. no comparison to Ziggy Lume.. but I charged it for 10 seconds and the pic is in the light.... but SOP for life span.. still not bad ... this is the only Pilot that i would really not mind the ss bracelet.. but this is more my vision of the pilot watches .. these pics are pics of the genuine .. note the hands at least the Minute is too long on the Rep. I like the Honey brown gator for the nice contrast with the white dial.. It doesnt over-power the dial and lite ss case the brown gator is not bad looking either.. fairly good compliment to the case and dial... both look good so i may have to get both of them.. ... the brown gator is the one up for RWG auction.. wow.. all of a sudden I can't find it.... Joshua.. got it to me in 4 day's .... speed anyway hope this will help you decide what to do with this Replication... this may end up with more wrist time than the 3717 black dial thanks for the views...... lanikai Ok a little update on the (general overview) .. since this a rookie job.. i will not label it a review as a rookie . i failed to add one of the most important item... A7750 movement ... As Ziggy has noted on his threads ... it is a good movement but not serviced well at the factory... IMHO the makers of the IWC Pilots do a very good job in this area.. the 3717 after 24 hours is running right on time with my desk top that I used to set it yesterday..my 3717 black dial was also running spot on . i had to send it back for a dial swap.. the dial was the problem .. not the movement.. it seems like the maker of the Pilots does a good job at servicing these movements .. but I still think I may have lucked out .. only time will tell.. conversely .. the Breitlings are (mine anyway) horribly serviced.. As i said before the minute hand is longer than the genuine.. but the good news is there seems to be enough metal before the lume to where the hand can be taken down .. by a really good horology Modder (Ziggy).. take a look and see what you think I don't know about you,.. but I have wrestled with the 3717 spring bars .. when I attempt to remove the bracelet.. so I had to improvise a little push back the spring bar and in the open position insert a toothpick.. then simply use your spring bar tool,.. release the opposite side and .. bada bing.... release the bracelet.. hope that helps those like me who want to use a hammer after vain attemps to remove the bracelet from the case..

If you ever saw "Gangs of New York" you remind me in my "minds eye" of the Scottsman with the huge club.. he was a straight shooter... what yous see is what yous gets....... no mincing words and no "fake" sugar coating.. ( that's a compliment by the way) At least I know where you are coming from TTK .. you kind of grow on me... like a fungus ... I think it is in your culture to be totally forthright..so i am imagining you as this huge .. highlander... now if you are a skinny runt.. then you have a real problem Sincerely... Lanikai by the way how does anyone order from you anyway.. -
Aloha Mai... tnakasaki.. my deliveries take 4 day's, 2 to three day's after it has been posted..... EMS has the same info as USPS.. only difference may be after the parcel leaves customs... .. remember that tracking will start 3 day's after you get the tracking number (max) this is due to the "forwarders"... if the parcel goes to SFO .. customs takes longer there .. LAX the parcel with fly through customs... reason is for another time.... the weekend is coming up so forget deliveries on Saturday if your parcel is leaving customs this afternoon.. Monday... and remember tracking is updated in every 24 hour cycle.. so once in the morning is plenty to check your tracking china Post works 7 day's a week, not here..so if your delivery falls on the weekend an additional day or two.. i have a parcel that arrived at my business center yesterday .. it left China Monday .. (it was Tuesday in China)... PM me if you want i need more information to make any other statement...(from experience).. since it's coming from China.. every region in the US will differ in Delivery time.. and again it all depends on the "forwarders" in China.. Pm me and I will try and explain how this works...

My BCE A7750 is very tempermental sometimes it will run 10 minutes fast every 24 hrs. and other times when I wear it it will run spot on.. ... it will someday take a trip to Canada, to Ziggy.. I think of it as having a mechanic work on tuning a triple twin carb. set up .. not as simple as 1-2-3 .. in part you are paying for knowledge and not just time spent.... this is the cost of mechanical movements vs. quartz... ,.. not all techs in the factories have the knowledge.. and remember this is not the Genuine factories. so we have basiclly a good movement that needs fine tuning... no matter (IMHO).. how much time some of these factory workers spend on it they may not have the knowledge to do it justice.

lanikai replied to dangerman's topic in The Breitling Area
The black rubber strap goes well with the black and white dial .. they make a blue rubber also.. let me post a link for a spring bar tool .. http://cgi.ebay.com/Spring-Bar-Tool-Kit-Li...QcmdZViewItem... this is all you need to remove the spring bar don't buy anything now the bretling straps on the bay are a rip off asking over 200 usd..the other sellers are not listing right now.. i have numerous straps all at around 75.00 usd.. just be patient something will turn up.. good luck -

I was trying to decide between the plastic model and the plier... the plier just seemed well constructed .. my only concern was if the metal on metal would leave marks.. but you don't relly need the links your taking off .. but FYI.. no scratches no marks... and like i testified too makes the Tag Carrera pins seem like cutting butter with a warm knife...... " Wicked Good" friend of mine from Boston got me to use that slang.. ... she constantly said it.. caught on.. UPO .. has met it's Waterloo.....
-
i believe this company. "turtle creations" is relatively new on ebay...their watch cases are realy good and well priced.. saw this tool appear about 2 weeks ago ... seemed better costructed than the plastic jobs .. and what's even better the metal does not sratch the bracelet.. so bring on those tough bracelets
-
can't say enough about this item... the watchsmiths even have trouble with the Tag Carrera.. but with this it's as easy as pulling out a tooth pick .. serious ... now I need to order more watches..
-
Oh No.. no negatives .. just a pre-emptive disclaimer.. in case of frenzied posts.. ... their in a gray area(capecod) .. as they say it's "mineral spirits".. yeah right.. lite mineral spirits that have the actions of Paint thinner.. that's funny .. don't you think.. but it is a wicked good product.. just need to be mindful of what the properties really are.. that's why it dries out so fast if you don't seal the cloth..
-
Just need to add.. I did not gather this info to "turn anyone in" .. but rather to seek answers to some questions on this product.. it would help to wear gloves for those who are sensitive to any type of solvent and to wash the metal that as been polished.. that's all .. not a witch hunt gang just information .. as that's what we are here for ..

CALI. ... drum roll please..ok just imagine it... ggeezzz..i and the finished product.... sooo fast and smooth like chambering a round that is how smooth the pins came out .. no sh8t my wrist are swollen.. as yesterday i trained at the gym, so all my bracelets are snug today .. tomorrow they will be loose.. A must have for anyone who struggles with their pins... if you don't have problems ... eh, good for you ... not all of us are pin heads Lani
