noticed the Holiday mail is starting early this year .. seems every year retailers are breaking the after Thanksgiving tradition.. plus our Postal service seems to lag on friday, saturday deliveries.. I expect these next 2 months to be slower than normal.. East Coast to Hawaii takes much longer than hawaii to East Coast.. I know no consistency huh..

I guess living in the middle of the Pacific has some advantages... I recieve mine in 4 day's unless the delivery day falls on a Saturday.. then give it until Monday.... if it comes from LAX it's really fast.. if SFO... then another day or two... I guess the farther East you go ie. Midwest or East coast.. seems like for each region a day or more is added... Postal services never makes sense .. your paying for express ... 4 day's .. and getting lesser than 1st class (7 day's) air mail..

For what it's worth... I read and viewed the pics of Ziggy's post not as a negative against the collectors but just what it was intended to be informative... it really didn't say anyone was being taken advantage of... reality is really what you percieve it to be at a given time.. I agree with TTK .. if the makers say that the watch contains a certain movement .. and this is the price then that is what any seller would go by.. I have been told by my collector not to get a certain watch that I really want .. re: if the maker is out of the A7750 then he might substitute it with the old 7750, and not inform the collector,.. ergo it is passed on to the buyer.. and when it goes for servicing.. yikes.... .. this I was told by the collector.. who has no way of know for sure unless the movement is inspected.

You alway's out do yourself Ziggy..thankyou this may be a rookie question.. but i am a rookie.. so... how will the crude machining affect the movements performance over time? how will the granular metal affect the overall funtion of the movement?

I would make sure the chrono is "working" and not "functional".. the later being that the hands move only by pushing the pushers in .. unless you want to wear a rep that only "looks" like it works... looking at the dial at the 6 this may be just a "functioning" faux dial..i may be wrong but I would check that out.. rather than be bummed when you recieve it..

Thought I would post these pics (excuse the poor quality), for those members wondering about the Aquaracer TT with White Dial A bit more panache in TT .. not an everyday watch.. (for me) .. but I like the contrast of the sport look with the gold markings... (I seem to say that about everything) If this helps you to decide .. or it may be not your cup of tea or coffee or whatever your beverage is at the moment.. Hope these can be useful lanikai

I for one have never dealt or have had any experience with Mark, aka Finepix, and i think this (for lack of a better word) "fight" should be left to those who have been taken advantage of.. those who have lost funds, watches, broken promises..... it should be their decision to "go after" Mark on Risti or not. I can say .."oh, you shouldn't do that because....", but it is the members who lost ,.. and only those members who can "feel" ... but "we" should not allow Mark to cause infighting within our membership.. because of ego's or hurt feelings... I am by no means an articulate person.. but certain words can cut deep.. or being passive aggressive doesn't help.. to put others down gives weaker people the opportunity to feel better about themselves.. and it's obvious that Mark needs this,.. it sounds like he did not want to Man up.. step up to the plate and make amends .. maybe he felt overwhelmed.. i do not know.. again I was "not there". Someone mentioned the fiasco with myself and FF.. well ... it evolved into a feeding frenzy .. without all the facts.. sound bites .. so to speak. I chose to step up and face the music .. and if I were wrong then i would have promptly admitted it,.. I would have taken the heat, but other members who know the facts stepped in .. and when the truth was revealed only "one" member Pm me to offer apologies ... (go Sox) hint... i do not hold any "bad feelings" toward any member who tried to bash me... but that's me .. I cannot expect anyone to have my opinions or goals..because I am the one that experienced it ... get my message? as far as buying reps.. the only thing I would find morally wrong would be if you were trying to pass them off as Genuine for profit... or trying to fool a group of people to have them think I am, or "have" more than i do..I don't wear reps to get "in" with a class of people... I have better score cards than wealthy people who belong to country clubs.. but I don't "hang with them" the same could be said about plastic surgery.. not real If mark really has no guilt about leaving the way he did, or was he run out.?.. I don't know.. if he is a sociopath or not.... He must not be very happy or why would he be "chasing' another form.. for his own self esteem ? seems like he caused himself a lot of damage in that respect so my point is that I feel the "people" that were directly affected by this person should be the ones to decide what . if anything they want to do ..just don't let "hate" and ego (in the negative sense) make you who and what you are... and the rest of us should stay supportive but let what is.. be If I were one of the members who got "taken" then I would probably be steaming at the post on Risti.,, I was not involved but still am upset...members here have more CLASS than some of them there, they are the true "Wanna Bees" ... I'm sure there are some really good pople there too... but I like it here because we can be who we are ... no one tries to impress here right... so what ever is decided by those who were affected.. I hope you are guided by the right choice .. and whatever you decide to do.. "GO HARD OR GO HOME" in other words don't get mad .... get even.. JOKING ...

I'll never take it into an AD and there are not many good watchsmiths that I know of that are not retail AD's too.. so I don't want to commit unless i am sure I can make the deadline..???

if you bought it from Perfect C. then email him and ask him if he can supply the part you need .. one of the benefits with dealing with some collectors is that they can source the parts for you, unless you want genuine..

Your question is very vauge,,, in the sense that there are sooo many makers and movements .. what I suggest is that you go to the review section and try to narrow your likes and dislikes there ... bytor and Pugwash and the rest of the members who have posted their reviews did a surperlative job and this is what that section is for.. I have made choices after studying their reviews..Panerai... Breitling.. Tag .. Omega.. Rolex etc.. all there to view.. believe me when I say ... you will not stop at one Sssurfer (Panerai)... Kruzer (wide knowledge of many Brands) ... Andrew,..chrgod,..Italiano ..(breitling) ... some other members that come to mind for tech info. You should make it a persoanl choice.. what I like may be totally different from your likes... so take a couple of hours to research and ask questions on the board.. but just asking what you should get.. may be jumping the gun a little..I am not meaning to discourage you .. but in researching and reading the post you may be happier with your choice .. you are the one that will wear it.. AWESOME..... congrats to Doc and Ziggy.. it must be the allure of building a watch with genuine parts.. sort of like building an automobile .. instead of just buying one... truly a source of PRIDE. My question is that, when you order Genuine watch parts do you have to submit a serial number from a genuine watch??
