  1. The dial lume actually looks to be the correct colour. Does it stay bright for a while, or die out quickly (within a minute)? Maybe all you need is a set of relumed hands.... but then again it is usually a good idea to get them both relumed at the same time if you want them to match.
  2. Did you use the gasket that came with the crystal, or the one supplied with the case? Are they the same height? Try switching them, or using a shorter gasket from another case.. To get an idea, remove the gasket and take a pic of the crystal sitting in the bezel area without it ... perhaps you'll need to get the inner area milled out a bit (The Zigmeister territory I believe).
  3. Finally, a half-decent (from the pics anyway) H+ series Ti CG And what looks to be a great new Titanium case Can't wait for the first real pics to be posted ....
  4. I call mine the Versnatchee (long story, won't get into it here)
  5. Actually the latest fiasco has come to light due to the honesty of one of RG's staff, SFA. He has revealed the happenings to the membership, and is awaiting response from the owner in question .... When you got over 20k members (maybe less, maybe more, who knows or cares ), there are bound to be bad apples (I mean after all, I'm a member there ) , even a bad admin or owner may pop up occasionally. But with great staff like SFA, they won't be able to hide too long.
  6. My how quickly we forget ..... 082C !
  7. Just goes to show that nobody is perfect, not even Lennon
  8. Dial can always be relumed, but other than the dial, movement, and hands, not much else would be of interest to anyone. Maybe the movement ring and sapphire..
  9. Unfortunately with the introduction of the new A7753 250/263 Super Reps, the resale value on this particular model has plummeted. But since yours has a genuine ETA 7753, which alone may be worth more than the cost of a new 250 rep , and has a nicely relumed dial and handset, yours, like mine , is still worth some money. How much, still needs to be determined ..... One thing though, you've got the less desirable case (low bezel, thinner CG, etc). If you really want to max your investment out, pick up a new 250 rep, and switch the innards (dial, hands, and movement) between case sets. The result will be two 250s, one which will basically be indistinguishable in build and performance from the gen, the other still sellable for around $250 I'd say. EDIT: One more drawback on your rep, is the relumer didn't bother with reluming the sub-dials, so they look out of place as they are completely different colour from rest.
  10. For some reason the last thing that comes to mind, when thinking of John Lennon, is Rolex. One of my favourite musicians, and just an all 'round good soul from what I can tell. Tragic.
  11. That ain't no 089, that be an 088
  12. Of course it helps if you know what is a good deal, and what isn't, not always simple in the rep world. Which is why questions are always good So questions, which ones should you (OP) be asking yourself? First off, is the watch readily available from other dealers? Or do they just still have pics of it on their site, but maybe haven't been carrying for a while? If the latter, that would probably increase the value. Next, if the watch has been sitting around for a number of years, when was it last, if ever, serviced? The synthetic oils used in the movements of our reps and gens, normally have a life of 5 years, after that they start breaking down - whether the watch has been running or not. And of course, if it still has the oil application from the original purchase (no servicing done after purchase), then chances are the oils had not been applied properly in the first place. Then of course, there is the matter of how your local customs department handles replica watches. For instance, if you are in Texas and the watch is already in the States, this may be a big deal - but if you're in Canada, then customs is not an issue at all. All things to consider...
  13. DSN SS CGs are generally pretty bad, his SS auto crown is even worse (good thing it is not part of the build ). As for cost ... since DSN is still making the full Ti 091, just add base price plus the cost of changed out parts (SS bezel is around $15, T48 about $30 but not sure) plus a few bucks for changing them, I'd say $40 - $50 is reasonable, if done properly (especially since installing a T48 can be a time consuming and challenging task, plus the CG lever is being switch for a Ti one).
  14. I was correcting an inaccurate comment directed at me, I be chillin like a villain ... dude
  15. I love it, if anyone has an extra Officne rotor they'd like to sell, PM me
  16. Talk for yourself, not for me. No I don't know that you NEVER get a good shot. You can tell from DSN's pics usually, and some of the other dealers. But then again, you overlooked the part where I pointed out that from these it was indeed "hard to tell".
  17. Mmmmm, chocolaty goodness Love that dial ... it's what got me interested in PAMs in the first place (chocolate brown sandwich dials). Great find ... luck ... whatever, just great. Now just put on a good violin concerto and think to yourself "Oh bliss! Bliss and heaven! Oh, it was gorgeousness and gorgeousity made ..." .
  18. Very nice. Will this deployant clasp be available for separate purchase, like the new Daylight one?
  19. CG should be brushed steel, not Ti. Lever should be Ti, not steel. If you are lucky, you may be able to get a DSN low-profile SS bezel from him, but it's a roll of the die as to what you will actually receive....
  20. It is hard to tell from their pics, but the sub-dials don't appear to be recessed - at least not as recessed as the gen ones are ... but I still prefer my 204Wempe handwind chrono
  21. I don't see the Cartel coming out with a 111H/I/J/K/L super rep. They've just shown that they can't really improve that much on the luming (see latest batch of Daylight dials and The Zigmeister's comments on previous batch). They'll never be able to get the bridges on the movement right. We can always hope they finally make a half decent H+ series CG, but I'm not holding my breath But maybe we'll at least get a good case out of the deal ..... or not.
  22. Ah, I keep overlooking those subtitles. I seem to remember that sccording to The Zigmeister's last review, the lume was an improvement but still nowhere near gen lume. But this is definitely a step backward ... hopefully just a bad batch of dials/lume.
  23. Thanks babola. Typical, the factory corrects one flaw but adds another A side by side, showing the difference in contour would be great No point in upgrading if you end up never wearing it due to discomfort ...
  24. Oh, and incase you are still wondering why I am so sure that they are Titanium and not Aluminum, do a search for OxiClean or Oven or "electrical current". Titanium reacts differently than other metals when treated with certain chemicals, cooked, or electrocuted
  25. They're Titanium, just different grades and/or thicknesses. Also, you have to take into consideration the case back. Obviously solid case backs will be heavier than display ones, but DSN also uses very thin case backs, while older rep case backs are much thicker so heavier.
