I cant wait to get the addiction going!
chronology1066 replied to asf's topic in Introduction/Rules/Support
WElcome to the board and yes I would say prepared to spend hours buying, cleaning and chosing which of the collection to wear out. Thats right, now you can do the same to the wife as she does to you just before leaving the house to meet friends or whatever. Where in the UK are you based? -
The key thing for me and manyothers is that it is a hobby which embodies both art and craftsmanship. Lets face it, how often do you see it elsewhere.

Something nice with a t-shirt and jeans (oh and a pair of Crockett and Jones Country Boots of course. Cortebert powered MM

I have a few chinese cheapos with Rg finish and to be honest I rotate what I wear regularly so no problem. LIke most things, eve the basic plating has improved over time due to better technology and to some extent better materials. I have had no issues to date. Just use non abrasives to clean it and silver cloth works well and isnt overly harsh

Another 'ampshire 'og. Welcome to the board fella, your bank balance is now officially going to be in serious trouble Cheers Les

Hi Stephane I got it from one of the dealers I had not used previously, Peter Wang. Its and Asian movemnt but sweeps well and I suspect with a service it will be quite a reliable bit of kit. Not cheap at $199 but it is such a refreshing change of pace compared to the Pannies and other big blocks. Probably going to put a G10 NATO strap on it shortly and see how it looks. I wil try and knock a wrist shot together, looks great with black cashmere knitwear (and maybe a matching balaclava)

Hi All Right, I cant use my Vertu Rep on Vodafone..... we know this problem. Here is a part solution and with luck it might with a bit more work be a full solution. As we have figured out the problem is with the IMEI numbers being blocked by certain networks. However, here is part one of the cure. Software to change the IMEI number is availble for this range of phones and can be found in various places such as here However, this is only a part solution, next we need an IMEI to work with. So, suggestion would be go onto Ebay and buy a busted phone - One IMEI ready to go Part three is wher I need a bit of help though. THe cables for the Vertu phones are all USB and the software only works on RS232 since it needs a port to apply through. I know there are adapters for this but they depend on software solutions which can be very unreliable. So, thats the challenge, the easiest way is to find an older machine with RS232 but then we need a guru to figure out the correct wiring which is not my bag. Ideas anyone? BTW, there is a management suite to work with it as well on the same download site Hope this takes us forward Ta Les

WElcome to the end of your bank balance UK based as well, Brum for work and Yorkshire for home (these days). Enjoy the hobby and watch it grow into an addiction same as the rest of us

I can only echo the comments by everyone else. My heartfelt sympathies at this difficult time.

Frightening the combined stuff we know on this forum. Maybe we should offer our services to our respective governments

@slay True, plus lower freqs are better for building penetration and vice versa in the sticks. Much the reason microwaves are used for higher data local transmission services

Any further news on this buddy?

Amazing how many people are getting screwed in our democratic countries. The abuse of laws designed to protect us is and has always been pretty much the stock in trade of governments. If you are all watching big brother... you might have missed the point.... a little example in the UK Council in trouble for spying on parents Another example and a slightly different law, the massively abused "Human Rights Act - as used by scumbag kiddy fiddlers to get back in the UK - Gary Glitters Human Right have been violated quote I await the backlash on this one ......... Now he;s here and the government will spend lots of our hard earned cash keeping an eye on this person....... as with most criminals, once the law is broken in any way like this thy have selected to live outside our laws and regulation and as such forfeit their right to protection under the law. Not right wing, just a parent. Bottom line is law abiding, working daily grind people are easy targets. Look at motoring penalties, less points (and so chances of losing your permit but lots of ways to pay fines to the gov) ..... and since when do terrorists use toothpaste and baby milk to blow stuff up Current Restrictions the real deal Proven facts People must love living in fear

Many moons ago it was Mechwarriors, these days I am still loving EVE-Online and an occasional snoop around WOW but I have gotten a bit bored with WOW of late. COD4 is always fun but there are soo many kids that dont want to play tactical it makes it a bit lame.

Placed my order, now I will be sleeping under the post box..... As for the PP silliness post the member at least to the mods... Very poor show, can't make anyone keen on organising group buys with these PP/member issues. Thanks for your work on this M. Most of us appreciate the time you have taken to get these right and QCed

Maciek, looks like support will be good for the GTG, I can make it along if it is near the early part of the month before the missus has spent all my spare cash. Looking forward to raising a Żubr

Looking at a pair of cream and dark tan spectators for a wedding in August. The wife has some serious competition in this department at least

My little treat arrived on Friday last, a pair of custom Church boots, this model doesnt come with the Dainite sole so I had them made up. Before you ask, it's 20% over the retail which is not bad for a made to measure.
