  1. you're talking about Times Shop. They are a trusted dealer on RWI, not here. They have been having a Noobfactory sale for almost a year, with the price you mention. Just look in TimesShop's dealer area on RWI.
  2. I always found the fact that the Genuine Japanese movements these clone don't hack as being very funny ... the China clone improving the Gen ...
  3. I love the way the gold hands catch the light against the dark dial, and under the shiny candy dome crystal. Who did your lever pin mod and removed the blue AR?
  4. It's exactly the same. The date set prohibition and the winding by the crown prohibition are not "because it's Chinese" but because that's the way this movement is designed. Don't manually set the date between 9pm and 3am ... If you wind the watch by the crown, go slowly, and only until the watch starts running.
  5. Never return a watch unless it is your absolute only choice. Round-trip for a watch repair to China is 2 months IF it's not lost on the way.
  6. Welcome back! I look forward to sharing thoughts on our common passion
  7. From what I understand, yon can make a quartz movement sweep smoothly but it greatly reduces the battery life. Every pulse in the sweep takes a bite out of the battery.
  8. Thank you so much. It's just an awesome photo, really. It's simply a base cartel 127 on a really good strap
  9. Looks good to me. Great catch on the first one, with the green text
  10. Welcome to the Forums! Look around, always use the VIEW NEW POSTS link in the upper right of every screen .. you don't want to miss a thing.
  11. Today (and very often lately) my 1950 on limited, numbered Gunny strap.
  12. The movements in replica watches are not clean. Even tho your movement is Swiss, it is OLD ... sitting in a package for a long time. It has no oil and maybe is dirty. Service it for about $80 and it will be perfect for 5 or 6 years. I see you have been here 5 years, so I will not ask you if you wound the stem 30 turns (full wind) before checking the power reserve.
  13. The US Govn't is making a show about confiscating domain names located in US registrars, like .com, .org, .net ... so if you sell replicas, and your domain name is a USA domain name, then they can take it away from you. All you have to do is buy a new domain name. It does not stop anyone .. thehandbagbuzz.com becomes thehandbagfan.com .. you can be running again in 2 hours. It's like proving you are tough on crime by arresting 3 hookers. WOW NICE JOB CAPTAIN POLICE GUY. *salute*
  14. They fixed the problem with the delaminating binary glass/sapphire crystals months ago .. last Summer maybe? Didn't they go 100% sapphire? I forget. txcollector: where did you get that DSSD? It puzzles me.
  15. Thats what Im wearing today ... minus the gen movement It's a beautiful piece and a testament to your abilities as a franken maker.
  16. Come to think of it, my wife is dragging me down to Miami in June for the wedding of people we hardly know. She thinks it will be a nice get-away but for some reason she never remembers that she absolutely wilts in the heat. Borderline comatose. For a Miami wedding, I'd go BIG with a white guayabera with white embroidery over natural linen pants and a Flying B, baby!!
  17. If it was me, with my own stable of reps to choose from for a wedding, I would wear either a FM silver dialed crazy hour with black numbers on black croco or my Senator Sixties silver sunburst on black croco.
  18. I think you made the right decision. For a wedding, you go Class all the way, not bling.
  19. Panerai model 127 or 217, issued in 2002, limited to 1950 pieces. Replicates classic Panny style with pillow shaped case and dome crystal. Looks to sell for about $23k now.
  20. Just go to the main forum page and scroll down ...... they are called Collectors on the main page.
  21. That's a fun story. I dont know (from the story) if you somehow proved to him or at least told him that it was Genuine after he spent 5 minutes "proving" it was fake ... Like I said in a different thread .. some people have a serious personality problem when it comes to expensive personal items .. I have told this story here once before, but my wife's boss is a single woman in her 50's and likes to spend her money on herself. She has some stunning designer jewelry. She was invited to the home of the CEO of the company for dinner one night, and when she arrived, she was wearing one of her best John Hardy custom-made pieces around her neck. When she sat down to dinner, the Big Boss' wife looked at her necklace, and said "Hm. It's amazing what they can do with fakes nowadays." SO ... expensive personal items bring out the Mega Douche in people.
  22. Ubi is Ubiquitous, the long time forum member who is one of the most advanced watch modders around. He mostly only works on his own watches, and is not considered to be a modder-for-hire.
