  1. Oh? Well then I stand corrected. I thought those watches were produced (as some are) by a factory at the request of a Dealer.
  2. Replica factories have no quality control. What matters is if the guy who put *yours* together remembers to put in the rubber seals. Did he? I dont know. You dont know either. That's why you have it checked. Every high quality replica diver's watch sold here by a trusted dealer should be fine .. but .. was it assembled correctly? No one can answer that for you.
  3. Looks great! It's a really fun watch .. gets looks and comments.
  4. reported .. stainless steel indeed
  5. It's just a pair of pants.
  6. Be aware that the 2813 ans 4813 (a21j low and high beat) movements use a direct-drive seconds hand, and altho the high beat 4813 does indeed beat 28.8k, it stutters as it moves due to this specific design. If you can live with that, it's up to you.
  7. With the wild popularity of the 45 and 42mm Planet Ocean line of replicas, I don't see why not unless there's some technical hurdle to repping it properly.
  8. I like the prototype bezel, but I also like the raised chrono rings in the final production model.
  9. One of the master watch makers here on the Forum has posted at least one pictorial of the tear-down process on a 7750 movement. He says that one of the most common problems during a 7750 service is stripped auto winding gears caused by using the crown to wind the mechanism too often. There are photos of the gear with broken teeth all over it. When you use the crown to wind a watch, the auto-wind train spins furiously and can wear quickly. It is recommended that if you must wind it, do it slowly and ONLY until the watch starts moving, then simply wear it to wind it additionally.
  10. Yes, Precious Time has it's own line of vintage replicas.
  11. It was for sale yesterday and was sold .. in the Watches (for sale) forum Use the View New Posts link in the upper right hand corner of your screen to see more of the day's posts so you don't miss important sales like that one.
  12. Hi Divo ~ I just went to Google and did an image search for "tag carrera 1887" and every photo that came up has tachy numbers on the bezel. edit: hm! there seems to be some confusion about this watch .. some people are saying that the tachy bezel was only on the prototype?? Dunno.
  13. The swiss 7750 should also not be wound from the crown. All 7750 wind in one direction.
  14. Manually winding a 7750 strips teeth off of the auto-wind mechanism. The Zigmeister has at least one excellent write-up on this subject, with a slew of photos.
  15. Just to point out here .. there are different levels of "service" .. from the complete disassembly, cleaning, inspection, oiling, re-assembly and timing .. to an el-cheapo Dip n Swish job. One is perfect and the other gets you by. Find out what your watch man is doing for your service, and then compare prices.
  16. Hello and welcome! Enjoy your new hobby

    DSSD

Im not sure what to say about that first photo, which you've labeled as a v5 .. those hour markers are very gen-like, unlike any Noob v5 I have ever seen. Noob DSSDs have always had fat marker rings. Rule of thumb is that Trevor's markers are too thin and Noob markers are too chubby
  18. Absolutely correct. The Gen glide clasps are breaking as well. It's not a "rep thing" .. it's the actual design that's weak. That said, I do not wear my v5 DSSD tightly on the wrist, and it's been almost 2 years now.
  19. Bravo .. great research and write-up.
  20. I have to say .. looking for that Gen image on Google, you realize how many people are passing off rep watches as gen on the Internet forums. I had to go to the Rolex home page to get a good gen photo.
  21. Noobfactory (see above pics) is too curved .. more curved than the curve of the bezel, even. Gen ... looks straight, but it's not. It's gently curved ETz/TrevorTime 2010v5 .. incorrectly perfectly straight
  22. That is a very nice example of a Noobfactory DSSD. Note the good looking pearl, the hour markers are a little fatter than Gen, and the accurate HEV shape, and the pearl triangle is *more* curved than the bezel itself. The Gen's pearl triangle is less curved than the bezel, appearing from some angles to be not curved at all. TrevorTime's DSSD pearl triangle has no curve, and is just a triangle.
