Ahhh ... @ KB my apologies, I certainly didn't mean small retail business OWNERS have "made poor life choices" ... it's the Managers and clerks who get pressured to SELL SELL SELL and work every weekend for years in a row who are to be pitied. They are little cogs in the machine of Retail, to be used, abused, and yelled at by their supervisors ;/

Stories about AD managers grabbing your watch, and being backed by invincible lawyers are designed to make them seem tough .. as if they have God-like authority over watches. When in reality, they are simply people who have made a series of very bad life-choices and are stuck working in Retail. Did you think I was talking about you? I don't understand your not understanding
-
No. I think that when the Cop who comes after I call 911 says "Give the man his watch back", the Retail Store Manager will do so, and wonder to himself why he did something so foolish in the first place, as to steal someone's property in his own place of business. Not that I'm the type who parades around AD's wearing reps .. that's just retarded. I'm saying that tough guy talk about "taking" people's property makes just as little sense.

Did the DSSDv5 from Eurotimez come out in 2009 or 2008? I think Gioarmani might have a couple pics of that watch.

There is no quality control in replica factories. Things are assembled carelessly. Even if a replica is supposed to be waterproof, the assemblers can mess everything up and no one will check it.
-
My DeepSea arrived several months ago with a bad date change TOO .. just like yours. Contact your Dealer and see how much a new movement is. If it's Asian, it could be very inexpensive. I don't know about your V2 but the V5 takes either Asian or ETA.

If I heard a store in the Mall took someone's property, I would not only never shop there, but I'd make sure anyone I spoke to about shopping or the Mall knew about the occurrence. LOL Working in a watch store is one step up from working in Burger King. Oo the manager at Burger King nabbed my replica hamburger! He's all powerful .. he can DO that!! So all the watch manager has to do is commit perjury? WOW .. that's slick. I wonder how much time he'll get in prison for that.
-
Yes, I think the real V5 only comes from ETz ... and I have the gen ETA in there. As Gio says, check for epoxy. Don't trust that it's in there.
-
It's no problem for a watchsmith to either replace the movement or perhaps fix the date-advance arm. You don't have to buy a new watch.

UPOs are $280 USD arent they? I haven't priced one.

Narikaa has a Forum here of his own, and carries 42 and 45 mm POs of a quality unmatched for the inexpensive price. I own one and so do many many people. They are recognized for their quality/value ratio across all forums. The main issues with these POs are that they will not accept genuine parts, the HE valve is 3mm off position, the seconds hand is about 3mm too short, and the Omega logo on the dial is 1mm too long on each "foot" Incredibly minor problems.

LOL ... well, please take a look here and decide for yourself. In my newbish opinion it deserves it's name of "super rep" Here are Hi-Res pics of the genuine DeepSea Gen DSSD Here are Hi-Res pics of the Eurotimez DSSDv5 displayed in a replica Rolex case ETz DSSDv5 -
The Zigmeister told me that my V5 hev was epoxied from the factory. *shrug* ... your mileage may vary.

If you are looking for a gold plated watch as an every-day wearer then be sure to wipe it down every night because what makes the plating wear off the most is the natural oils from your skin. Gold plating is a gamble, so no one really advises it for an every-day watch.

The problem with your question, Gimp, is that quality reps aren't cheap. Cheap reps are cheap. I suppose if you want an awesome starter watch that is "really good" for not too much cash, then the Planet Ocean in 42mm from Narikaa is your best bet. Sapphire crystal, anti-reflective coating, real stanless steel construction .. good hand lume .. not perfect but very good for around 100 USD. Note: This photo is of *A* Planet Ocean, not the actual one from Narikaa. If you are spending less than that for a replica watch, then you're looking at a chrome plated brass body with glass "crystal" and a mystery chinese movement. Im sure you can spend less than 100USD on a good watch if you GO to China yourself and sift thru the market stalls personally but the Dealers here have to make a living, right? And you dont have to go to China, yourself.

Very good .. now, a question .. with that kind of professional lighting, are you still going in with Photoshop and punching up the iris color? It looks like you are, since that kind of 1/4 iris color punch is classic for studio photography trickery.

4th gen takes genuine parts, as Ubi has been saying and showing in his photos (LOOK 7 posts above yours!!). If you don't intend to EVER buy $1000 worth of gen parts (dial, hands, bezel, insert, pearl, band) and make your PO perfect in every way then get a UPO.

Replica lume is always poor compared to gen lume, altho the V5 has "good rep lume" .. and the pearl is not quite right. That's it. This is a "super rep", as they say. And yes, the V5 is the best DeepSea out of the box. Once you can source genuine pearls for these, you'd need a loupe to see problems. -
That looks like a genuine ETA to me, but again, I'm a newb here so don't get ripped off because I said it was OK Here is another picture of my vintage gen ETA ... you can see the same gear in your photo ... it looks identical.

Congratulations There are macro-photography tutorials in Pugwash's area of this board!

Show me the gears that take power off the rotor. Easy tell. This is the ETA movement from my ca1962 vintage, gen solid gold Arola. See the 2 gears in the upper left corner of the photo? All those drilled holes ... are to reduce weight. Chinese ETA clones are lazy and only have half of those holes. Not all of them.

I think he said the Gen makers were taking the piss out of the buyers by charging way too much.
