  1. Saturday's child, full of 50 caliber ammunition.
  2. Thank you! It's a quartz movement .. I purchased it on Exact Replicas (ripoff site) before they went under. I was promised an automatic and was thrilled at the accurate timekeeping ... until ... I realized that no automatic was dead-bang accurate for months, so I popped off the face and there was the fat battery ... siiigh. But yes, I still love it.
  3. This was my first rep purchase, 8 months ago. I've worn it daily in a light industrial environment and the PVD coating has held up marvelously. The crystal is scratch free but DOES have a tiny chip in the edge, where it clattered against steel at a bad angle. Looking at this macro, I realize how much salt got on it from my day at the beach last weekend! I'll have to detail it I guess. This is only my second attempt at macro photography .. trying out different things. All due props to Pugwash and his fabulous macro photo tutorials here on RWG.
  4. If she hit it hard enough to shatter a bezel, she hit it hard enough to crack that thin part of the case. It must have been a very strong whack.
  5. That is correct. I've had it less than a week.
  6. My first wristie of my brand new DSSDv5 yes, my 828F has purple ghosting in the hilites. it's a problem
  7. I know I need a lightbox .. I read the tutorials when I first joined ... so anything that is RIGHT with this picture I owe to RWG tutorials
  8. This is my first beauty shot ever so please be kind.
  9. Untrue. They had all the pearls for these DSSD units remanufactured to match the markers and fixed all the loose clasp logos. edit: Here's the photo I've been promising
  10. berti: The lume it comes with is blue but it's also "standard" replica lume ... weak. When Gioarmani reviewed this piece, he also Superluminova'd it .. and it's brilliant. Regarding the date setting ... I would imagine that the hour hand was not set to the movement properly by the assembly line guy I'll post photos soon .. I astually misplaced my camera until this evening .. it was in my sock drawer for some reason LOL If you want to see beautiful photos NOW, just look at Gioarmani's awesome review here.
  11. Completely agree. Watch oil dissipates over a period of years, not from disuse. Unless you plan to not use them for 5 years, it's not a problem.
  12. I must have missed the issues with the Eurotimez v5 ... what were they, again? ETz told their factory to remake all the pearls, and they finally agreed. The pearls are paper white to match the markers. The other issue with the little Rolex "crown" logo being loose on the clasp on some watches was corrected too, during QC time at Chris' offices. Mine's rock solid.
  13. 48 hours after receiving this, and a quick update ... it's running 15 seconds fast a day (which Ziggy's guide says is perfectly fine), as it arrived with (what I hope is) an actual ETA movement. Troubles? The date switches over slowly (instead of instantly) beginning at 6pm and finishes at 8pm ... I've spoken to Chris and he's offered to take it back if I ship it .. frankly, I might just wait 'til Ziggy is back from vacation and send it to him for a tear down, service and re-lume.
  14. The PT model still has the incorrect "stepped" titanium case back .. it looks like the "Supreme" takes an older model and installs a re-engraved movement that looks more like a proper 3135.
  15. The v5 pearls were pulled and re-manufactured. They are paper white now, not yellowed. As far as Im aware, it's considered the best DSSD to date. I own one, too.
  16. I noted this photo's called Wifey's World .. it is a spin on that famous painting of a similiar name ... she's even looking over her shoulder like the girl in the painting!
  17. It is, and Gio re-lumed his watch. I got mine only 2 days ago, and have sat it in direct noonday sun for 1 hour ... and the glow was ... not even really there at all. Post here confirms his re-lume with gen lume.
  18. There are at least three people here who do re-lume ... but I am a newbie here too, and don't remember their names off-hand. SRY!!
  19. Chris is a well known and respected Collector here. This DSSD is considered one of the very best if not THE best available. It's only weakness is the replica standard luminous paint used. It's brightness is nothing like a real Gen. I am wearing mine as I type this ) BRIGHT pearl on yours!! Same as mine I would ask if that black mark on the wristband is permanent or a spot of silicone grease from the service.
  20. How long did it take you to see what she's watching on the television?
  21. LOL I panicked when I got mine, when I noticed I could not see ***any*** ROLEXROLEXROLEX etc engraving onside the rehaut but then I noticed that the crystal is SOOO THICK you can only see it one or two letters at a time due to distortion, but it IS there. I came back in here, and noted that you removed your DSSD crystal for the photos you have posted, and that is what startled me .. you can barely see the engraving with the real crystal in there.
  22. I used to be a Tech, so I dug out my micro screwdriver set and popped out a link from each side just now to fit it perfectly to my wrist. Better and Better!! Where's the smiley man animation which represents a full Iowa Class BB broadside?? This watch =
  23. There are many watch "Collectors" named on this web site which have been verified to have quality items and supply good service. Don't send money down a hole when you can't see what's down there. Read the newbie FAQ, and then choose a "Collector" listed here.
