  1. For the prices mentioned, these are quartz reps I assume. Look at the subdial spacing.
  2. If the dust is offensive enough I use a healing tool in photoshop to remove it.
  3. The "correct hand stack" gmt iic is prone to breakage. It is not a reliable timepiece, and anyway, it has not been available for purchase in years. This is the only high quality gmt iic rep currently available.
  4. You can see what the dealer says but as a fallback, you can purchase a small box of assorted watch screws. that should do as well.
  5. That is an attractive silicone strap. It's a shame about the hair and dust.

The photos here never show the dial of the new 390 in its true color. You can not judge a color from Internet pictures.
  7. Yeah, Angus did a great job on the full teardown review.
  8. Pro tip: placing a strong light source on the floor will cause even small parts to cast a long shadow, making them easier to find.
  9. OK ok ... you convinced me. I just bought one.
  10. If you don't agree with the long standing practice of paying for registered shipping to China, and a ~2 month wait, have the piece repaired/serviced by a trusted watchmaker with the cash you would have paid for shipping.
  11. If Concepta has no problem with Texski, why should I? It's called being an adult. Btw; when you shout "lulz" is that a signal for your mother to bring more hot pockets to the basement? Just curious, since it could also be a sign to your male nurse that you need more meds.
  12. Congrats on having the nerve to take the first step, and actually having a running watch when you were done.
  13. I think there are two version of this watch. One has an ETA and one has a Sellita movement .. the more expensive version has pearlage. If I remember correctly.
  14. Welcome to the forum. I'm going to enjoy reading about your building adventure.
  15. So he posted this info last night in his RWI forum, and I knew people here would want to know. He bought a Bergeon 10ATM tester and is offering the service. For the new people, he's a trusted modder/dealer here so go to his area for contact info.
  16. I think he is happy that Concepta and Texski have put aside their differences and now work together. I'm sure it's win/win for all involved.
  17. Phoband was overstating the seriousness of the issue with the modded movement. The pinion on the modified gear simply needs to be smoothed to fix the issue. Improper handling of this little pinion was the issue Zigmeister raised. It's not as if the movement is inherently unfixable.
  18. Congrats on your amazing piece.
  19. There is a forum modder on RWI who specializes in custom built vintage PAM like this. His work really stops traffic. I think he's named Rsea Vintage. Prices start around $400 for a quality item.
