I think curly toes are often seen in printed dials but for the raised logos in the latest SMPs and all POs, they're not happy feet/curled toes.
-
Are his watch movements made of cotton balls and archival paper or something? Acetimers are very inexpensive and effective, not sure why you would get anything else unless you're willing to splurge on Orbita.
-
Duh Right here: Okay, I see it, maybe as a finishing touch but the "SUN" on my 3717 looks sharper than that... I think I will go for the superume and Double AR first. I think I would rather save the date wheel swap money to contribute towards ETA 7750 gen movement installation fund.
-
Nice, was the movement drop in or what did you have to do. Where did you even source a gen dial?
-
The newest date wheels on watches like the V3 3717 look pretty much dead on to me to a gen. Is the swap even necessary anymore? Are there any side by side comparisons of A7750 vs Gen 7750 date wheel? I know on the Ingy, it's a must have but that has a totally different font.

The Eurotimez V5 Deep Sea is in, lots of large photos

As far as I can see without a loupe, they look perfect and well cut. -
Pretty sure there's only one seller of the V5 right?

Quartz movment watchs that are lust-worthy

Omega Seamaster Pro Quartz. Bernard Watches has a new gen for $1275 shipped. -
I believe it still has happy feet like the PO and the GA is connected incorrectly in Omega.

Oh my god it's huge. And quite heavy. It might be going on the for sale section, I'll have to wear it for a week to see if I can get used to it. I went against my own advice and opted extra for a "GEN SWISS ETA". I'll take it to my local watch maker to verify it actually is what it came with. However, the winding feels very smooth like a gen ETA. Sides don't have quite the brilliant shine of the WM9 Submariners. I think I'll be taking a Cape Cod cloth to the side to give it a bit of a brighter shine. What do you guys think of the pearl and the date window? I ordered July 3rd, finally came in today. All photos are untouched.
-
Are these all off on a WM9 v2? Also, does the 3135 turn opposite of a ETA when setting the time?
-
Which sellers still have the old SMP Chrono? I think the difference is the raised logo and red dial writing right? Also for a BK WM9 Submariner... how could you even tell without opening the movement? The M Serial have the correct rehaut the Z serial doesn't have the rehaut engraving so is even more convincing, BK uses clark crystals and a better crown. I guess the only tell I can think of is the clark crystal which doesn't have the crown logo. They're even made to weigh almost exactly the same. I'm curious though, for the Rolex experts, given a Z Serial BK WM9 Sub, would you be able to tell if it's fake or not without opening it?

Maybe try Macro mode. It's the little flower icon. -
Rolex & Mercedes BMW & Omega Audi & Oris those are the best combos, period.

Challenges in becoming a rep collector...
JohnDorian replied to Gadgeguy2009's topic in General Discussion
Wow you ordered a crap load of watches in a very short period of time. -
Ordered 2 watchmaterial pearls and a LV bezel from JO. (Yes, I know it won't have maxi dial or LV hands) Any ideas on how to get the pearl off? I was thinking about maybe dipping the bezel in boiling water to loosen the glue. Otherwise, I'll try a local watch smith someone on RG recommended.
-
Is it supposed to be bulbous? It seems very high. It's a Z serial model. Any recommendations on a replacement pearl is this is incorrect? Everything else about the watch seems very top notch.

someone in St. Louis, MO got my IWC 3717 by mistake.....

I paid $240 for the watch, why should I be giving it up? -

That is very strange, I'm that someone who got the 3717. -
I think you can get the correct raised logo for the dial from Silix, at least I remember seeing an article about that. What movement do you have in the watch? A gen ETA 2892-A2 seems to go under $200 these days.

Sander, sent you a PM

If you owned gens like Breitling or Omegas with actual double AR, the best factory double AR that comes on reps don't even come close to anything like a real OEM double AR. It almost just looks like they put on some bluing treatment on the glass that doesn't really have any anti-reflective properties. Also, I'm not 100% sure the "Sapphire" glass that is advertised on $300 reps are actually sapphire. I'm more inclined to say they're mineral. Kind of the same way how sellers will drop ship you "ETA SWISS MOVEMENT" and it'll be a clone most of the time.
-
I'm still debating if I should give it the full spa treatment of gen ETA movement, gen hands, gen dials, Chief AR crystal. I'm going to keep it a month more to see how often I wear it and if I like it. What is annoying is that there were some defects on the dial that was not disclosed by the seller Paneraifreak. Sent him a message yesterday but haven't heard back. There were two small black marks on the white 1 marker and some glue spillage on the 3 marker. Buyer beware I guess.
