Hi there,
after collecting a little more than one year and being a member of this fabulous forum, I have these beautiful timepieces. They all have flaws, more or less:
the PAM'S no proper cyclopes and AR, the Cousteau has a loose day wheel and the 3717 a misaligned ditto and a really bad logo on the crown, but they are all fixable and I love them. The 3717 gets most wrist time btw., because it's so comfortable to wear (and easy to read...). My next purchases would be Dvdsjp's Ultimate Fiddy, the new 42 mm Aquatimer and definitely a big Pilot, if and when it comes our way.....
Thanks to all you guys in here for knowledge and inspiration.
Cheers, Volker
Thanks for quick answer, The Zigmeister.
I just sorted out a watchsmith close to my hometown. He is a young turk, fully educated watchmaker from Istanbul. Actually a friend's friend's boyfriend, I had forgotten about. He has several jobs to make a living, one at a local jeweler/watchmaker. He knows the matter, has been building reps himself. I will see him on Sunday and see if he can fix it (and what else he can offer). If not, the Cousteau and my 3717 may take a trip to Canada for day/datewheel change and alignment and maybe movement swap, if/when Tourby gets his new batch of 7750's ....
Cheers,
Volker
I've just got my Cousteau Diver with a beautiful, flawless dial and fantastic overall finish. But I'm having problems with the daywheel, it's lose and it drifts back and force just by regular wear. And when I tap the case sideways, I can go through all days of the week. It does change (and alignes with datewheel) properly every night though. Is this an easy fix for a watchsmith or has something broken beyond repair?
Thanks, Volker
I'm with Jumbie on this one, the Chronofighter to me looks like a handgranade..... Or a storm-lighter..... The yellow one with the googles.... bvaddr.....
I don't know what to think, EMS really sucks here in Denmark, everything sent from China is being helt by customs, whereas FedEx comes through without probs....
Hi guys, I've seen dead/restricted links in several of our watch collectors albums lately:
" THIS IMAGE OR VIDEO VIOLATED OUR TERMS OF SERVICE " they (photobucket) say.
What do you think?
Same here, Rob, I've tried WD-40 in the pinholes and a hammer to force them out, no luck. I'm so tired of this rediculous watch (what the hell was I thinking buying this 46x46 square monster? This thing is so big, even on my 185mm wrist... ), I really had to restrain myself not to smash the [censored], having the hammer in my hand. It's the least atractive rep in my collection now, especially since I can't change the strap.
I thought taking off the screws would release the pins, but no. How can I change the strap, if I can't get the f***ing pins out of the lugs? PAM1A has asked the same question in the Other Brands Area....
Here are the two I got, fast shots, pics could have been better.... Actually, I own one more, the monstrous black Navitimer World. It's the first I bought, but it's kind of embarrassing with its magnifying glass and lack of ar. Btw., the two tone is from EL, the black from sweet Ruby
Nope, it's a necessity
As for my (other) hobbies: HiFi, movies, music (jazz, world, latin, african, house, electronica... I'm a percussionist), photo, computers, rollerscating, kitesurfing and kitebuggying....
