  1. Following Vic's footsteps to a German forum , I stumbled upon this: http://www.zeitmessinstrumente.de/start.ht...fertigungen.htm Apparently they are offering double side, six layers AR for 99 EUR a piece. Cheers, Volker
  2. Yeah, maybe, but would he get spares for a watch not bought from him and would they fit on other dealers watches?
  3. Very good, Vic, when I'm not listening to world music it's mostly Danish Radio's Program 1, much like WLRN.... Thanks
  4. Pandora, yeah, sad story. I used to have an account. Best freakin' stream on the net, very convenient with our Slim Devices. But, as you well know, they had to close all foreign accounts.
  5. You got to be kidding... I may be crappy and insipid (i had to look this word up in my Advanced Learner's) and have rotten my mind already , but I went there and I liked it...
  6. ... http://netradio.dr.dk/content.asp?station=25& Cheers, Volker
  7. Now THAT is some serious stitching on the strap, beautiful indeed. Got the Fiddy myself, my all-time favorite watch. Wear it in good health and with pride....
  8. Yeah, why didn't I? My mistake entirely. I blamed only myself then, my wife was devastated... Knowing my temper , I was relatively calm, though. We hardly ever talk about it, we "don't mention the war"... [censored], I just heard that one of my all time heroes, Joe Zawinul, died of skin cancer yesterday, 75 years old. Last year, during Copenhagen Jazz Festival, we stayed at Kong Arthur (the hotel where most jazz musicians stay) and actually had coffee with him and the Syndicate... Bloody shame...
  9. From time to time paranoia gets to me and I stop thinking rationally. I remember reading about burglaries in our neighborhood (way before I got into rep collecting) and bought two fake tin-cans (foam inside, a screw-in bottom and great pictures of Minestrone on the outside) for my gen watches, two Fortis and a Rolly GMT Master. Now, my beloved wife and I were not living together then, and I kept my watches in the kitchen drawer, inside the tin-cans, when I went to work. When we decided to move together, my darling Ms. german-in-denmark helped me to pack my stuff. And as women go, they are practical and tidy, she threw out a lot of stuff that she figured had gone overdue, including those two cans of Minestrone, that felt dried out.... I love my wife... Cheers, Volker
  10. Not with my Pam 092 Arktos, I don't.... But mostly, I do. Cheers, Volker
  11. Well, definitely the new Aquatimer. Panerai: 232 Radiomir, 1936A California Dial, 187... The new Bulgari Assioma could be tempting, and so could a Yachtmaster. And of course a PVD B&R, 42 mm. Cheers, Volker
  12. Sorry guys, you lost me here, that thing sure is ugly ....
  13. Wow... absolutely stunning, dadog... woof!
  14. Great job, CBR, I especially like the one on the Ferrari What glue did you use? Cheers, Volker
  15. I see, thanks for explaining. I bow in awe. Must be very time consuming, all and all.... wow. And no, I can't hand burnish goatskin
  16. Wow, tootall, beautiful and... different, love it I have seen stuff like that on knife-holsters, there are some very gifted knife-makers here in Denmark. Trying to figure out how you did it. Regards, Volker ps.: the edge-coat a bit massive for my taste, I prefer burnishing the edges by hand....
  17. Wow guys, thanks for your comments, dankesch
  18. Here some more shots. This combo is going to get a lot of wrist time.... Cheers, Volker
  19. Thanks guys.... When I started working on leather in the seventies, Al Stohlman's books were great inspiration (they still are, as a matter of fact). "The Art Of Handsewing" and, "The Stohlman Encyclopedia Of Saddlemaking", vol.1-3, or just the "Leatherwork Manual". Now THAT is so nice, wow... But of course, dear.... even then it's a no no here. Our populist, so called liberal government, has definitely put an end to what was tolerated before
  20. Got my Fiddy from DSN, so I decided to make myself some straps. It's been some time since I worked with leather, feeling a bit rusty. And I do need new glasses.... Anyway, I'll get to it. Here's what I came up with: And here I am gardening, inspecting our Mexican tomatos... Cheers, Volker Btw. Sorry about your problems with DSN's Fiddy, Vic, mine is absolutely perfect.....
  21. I'd go for the 111. The green strap on the gold Pam looks great... funky combination. Can't picture it on my wrist, though (wouldn't know what to wear with it ). Btw., good to see you're recovering, TTK... Cheers, Volker
