  1. I don't think minor differences are enough to keep factories safe from litigation from big gen coporations and companies. I do think the CN government keeps the factories safe, however. I believe that there would be enough compelling evidence of copyright infringment present with replicas featuring far less similarities than the reps we have access to. For some instances, even just using the name on a dial is sufficient. Rather, the issue with flaws (in my opinion) isn't so much with certain details being executed in an incorrect manner on purpose, but rather is the inherent result of how the factories just operate when assembling such things. Typically, the parts are all from different suppliers; the factories aggregate these supplies and assemble as parts are available. So, this is why there are variations. When one batch of parts run out, they are restocked, and sometimes not always with the same parts as used prior. Also, one must factor in different factories putting these watches together as well. In the case of 7753 based anything- I believe those were phased out due to short supply of that particular movement. There's not a lot of them in circulation in relation to other more common movements. As a result, those movements tend to be priced higher when available, thus making those watches less cost efficient to produce.
  2. Well, I don't think there's any doubt that this was a watch used for it's intended purpose! would be very interesting to know who the original owner was, and of it's provenance...
  3. No matter how many times I look at these, I'm just
  4. I don't know what this is, but it doesn't look too good...
  5. Also, LOL at presumed bezel ratcheting in the seller's description...
  6. Interesting find. Sounds like a neglected piece that could use a little TLC...
  7. It should with Clarks, genuine 295C, etc. The biggest factor in fitting the ring will be the gasket, as that is what the ring seats against.
  8. Another example of dial rubbing on the rehaut: Luckily, once installed, it's not really an issue.
  9. You've got the right order. -Gasket fits over the rehaut lip -Crystal presses into the gasket -Crystal ring next -Then washer -Add click -Fit bezel ring -Fit insert so that it lines up with the click and press in slightly -Remove bezel with insert partially installed and press fit the insert completely -Fit bezel + insert Here are some less than great pics of the crysal + gasket minus retention ring: Hope this helps... //ubi
  10. The chapters generally get rubbed away when installing into the case. Since the movement fits into the case by rotating into place and securing with lock screws, the dial tends to sustain a slight bit of damage in the process (unless one were to take extra caution not to press the dial firmly against the rehaut when fitting, or if they used the half-headed/slot screws)...
  11. Rather interesting that the proposed solution to fixing much of Greece's problems is to privatize things like healthcare and the sort
  12. Absolutely stunning! Very nice choice with that one...
  13. Vintage Omega for today...
  14. Depends on the watch you rec'd at that price. If you have pics of the watch and can post them, I am sure our members here can validate whether you got a decent watch for your money...
  15. Looks great! The fluted bezels do a great job of catching the light and adding a very subtle sophistication. Very nice!
  16. Indeed- Sounds like a recipe for success! With all the parts available, there's really not much standing in the way of a really nice Pre-V!
  17. Didn't Silix have loose dials for sale with the correct Omega horseshoe? Think they were selling the dials a la carte just for that reason...
  18. What's your price point on a bracelet? There's a couple out there for sale now, but starting price is around $750-ish...
  19. Had a moment to take a few more pics of details I didn't notice earlier... Interior sleeve is lined with jaquard fabric: And the end cap is lined as well: Decent quality, though not sure it's worth the $500.00 MSRP it's priced at
  20. Good idea. Tell you what- When you become a serious collector that doesn't waste money on silly ladies' 33mm watches that you can't sell, I'll buy you a drink then
  21. It's WT... I'm looking at the article now... I've yet to receive a PP account to send it to...
  22. Don't think it's repped...
