  1. How many of your watches are due for regular maintenance/servicing (i.e. along the 5 year interval standard)? Me: 3 (of 6) Of those watches needing service... Will you: 1) Have the movement serviced 2) Have the movement exchanged with a new movement 3) Leave as-is 4) Sell the watch Me- I'll need to service all 3, but may end up replacing the movement in one of them (servicing on the other 2 will actually be more cost efficient)...
  2. Wish I had one for you; it'd be yours by now if I did Not sure what to suggest in this case; checking with a dealer to see if they can help is a good place to start. Perhaps try asking for a complete hand set, as that will likely improve your chances of getting what you need. I'd also post a WTB in hopes of netting a result from that angle as well. Maybe someone has a dead watch that's collecting dust that you can negotiate for? Having an entire watch, case and all is always good for spares (especially if the watch is a favorite of yours) Might also be a good idea to hit up some of the usual auction sites as well, as sometimes things will pop up for sale there. Maybe a similar set for a 7750, or you could even get lucky and score with a gen set of hands? Also, can't hurt to visit watchnet and the sort as well... Best of luck. I know how difficult finding some of these things can be...
  3. Thanks, sir. Indeed... The granite has been my long standing back drop. I've tried moving on, but I just can't
  4. Thanks, gang Well, there's no question that Rolex builds a solid, robust mech. movement, but the overall quality is nowhere near the same league as many of the prestigious watch houses that pour hours worth of hand finishing into their calibers. Rather, what finishing there is on the Rolex bridges and plates is more out of function rather than form; i.e. the perlage is there for detaining dust and debris. However, if one were to disassemble the movement one would discover that the finishing is only on the exposed surface areas only; the finishing stops once a plate overlaps. Despite these details, I think the simplicity of the movement is what makes it beautiful. It's not overly complicated with clear, concise and logical design. Just from handling it, I find that it's easier to work with than even an ETA. As for the pics; I think it's mostly the camera The lighting is usually natural light, and I use a 50mm macro lens on my EOS. I wish I could take some of the credit The lens is actually quite versatile; here's a pic of my daughter that I took just earlier today using the same lens. I wubs it.
  5. This forum is my sole home. I've visited other forums in the past, and have even had some participation here and there, but my home is undoubtedly here. There may be more traffic and discussion on the other sites, but I'm not certain that as a whole, the content of which is entirely relevant to watches (which is why I come here). I don't think there is a more technically oriented forum for reps out there; by this, I mean getting into the technical aspects of watch mods, watch building, etc. The truly hardcore folks post their findings, their builds and share their experiences here. You do have an excellent point on trading and sales; seems as though fewer transactions take place here vs. the other forums. That type of activity absolutely brings in more traffic. I have also had some frustration with the search engine. Not the most intuitive, but I think these are issues that could be cleared up with software upgrades, perhaps? One thing I will say- The foundation that Admin built is solid as a rock. Everything from the membership, to database and forum stability down to the personal beliefs and values of our Admin and Moderating team. We're in good company here.
  6. Hell... There are many occassions where I'm usually wearing a watch on each wrist...
  7. I can't last but a few hours without a watch on the wrist. Just doesn't feel natural without one.
  8. W- You already know where I stand on this
  9. I have had this in my parts bin for a while... And thought I would snap some pics of it. The workhorse Rolex movement... Not meant to be flashy, or fancy as it is hidden behind a steel cover... But it has a certain beauty and charm of it's own... It does it's job and it does it fairly well
  10. It was worth a shot! Figured that would be the easiest way to get a somewhat similar style band fitted for the time being...
  11. Poor Christina Model; those jugs are gonna be hugging her knee caps by the time she's 29. Gravity is a sumbitch...
  12. Great to have you back with us, Robbie!
  13. I've got one (1) single link for you. If you want it, hit me up via PM with your shipping info. I'll get it out to you...
  14. Hmmm... While the T SWISS T is incorrect, it is definitely not consistent with a Texas print. It's much too large...
  15. There is something very alluring about this one...
  16. Well done, though I can't see the pic for whatever reason. Looking forward to seeing it under some plastic and surrounded by a steel case
  17. Should be pretty standard, solid mid-link Oyster with polished centers, correct? I may have some in my spares. If I do... You can have them gratis...
