  1. Bazz has done an excellent write up on repairing this issue. Essentially, there is a small lever for the release that needs to be repositioned. Not a difficult thing to do, but it does require removing the hands, dial and keyless works cover.
  2. Indeed, it is a very nice piece. Amazing how heavy these 18k gold cases weigh, even without a bracelet.
  3. I have to say that for a model with an unegraved rehaut, I like my WM9 very much. However, there are many good Subs on the market now as we have seen quite a few quality variations emerging within the last few months. Is the WM9 worth the money? That is a very subjective question. For some, maybe not, however I am quite happy with mine. I'd probably purchase another from these guys if I were to build another, but only because I'm not a fan of having the engraved model. I'm still hopefull that an unengraved version with lug holes comes out soon from our forum dealers (Chris? ).
  4. Beautiful!! I think a wrist shot is in order
  5. Good stuff! Great members here and many a random act of kindness taking place on a daily basis...
  6. Stilty, Unlike the Rolex 4030, mine still beat at 36k/h. It's actually one of the characteristics that I love about this watch; the seconds hand is smooth and steady! Holding it up to my ear, I can hear the escapement ticking away like crazy. As for power reserve; the white dial is in excess of 50h. The black dial is around 49h. I can let both sit in the watch box fo 2 days between wearing with no problems. Easily my two biggest powerhouses in the collection with regards to PR!
  7. I agree; it's not always easy finding these parts, and tracking down such quality examples as JoJo has for his projects is a difficult feat. I dunno how he does it, because a lot of his parts look to be NOS condition! Seldom seen for sale and when they do come available, it's always with an atmospheric price tag that pushes such items beyond the means of many. However, there is also a great amount of effort, and attention to detail required by the hands assembling as well. As someone who has been on both sides of that fence, I can appreciate what goes into a timepiece like this! Fantastic to say the least...
  8. Ahhh... Good point. I forgot that PAM crowns aren't always spring loaded like Rolex crowns. Hmmmm....
  9. Hmmmm... Brass colored debris. That can't be good. Do you have another crown and stem to test with? That might help with torubleshooting...
  10. Yeah... I've experienced a similar issue with some Rolex crowns. The spring loaded clutch/grab mechanism broke free and allowed the crown to sort of free wheel around. Once I replaced with a new crown, all was happy again
  11. I was a bit let down with this one... Dunno what I was thinking
  12. Thanks, TT. I think I will just wait until I decide which direction I want to go prior to posting anything. I have the watch on my wrist now, and am feeling hesitant in parting ways with it. So, it very well may stay... Thanks much and cheers! R
  13. I was a WM9 skeptic, but ended up giving them a try. I have to say that I'm quite pleased with the product rec'd, as it's a great rendition of the 16610. Still needed a few mods, but nothing too difficult to do. As others have mentioned- Plenty of reading on the forum. Lots of ground has been covered with Subs of all variation. Good luck!
  14. So very true! I find myself almost insane these days with dust, smudges etc. on my sapphire crystals; couple that with the reflections cast from the gloss black dials that seem to add to the 'dirty' crystal effect and it all just seems like a lost cause. However, when I slip on an acrylic crystal, matte dialed oldie, those frustrations just all seem to fade away....
  15. Stilty- These are a lot of fun to build, and even more fun to own! I say go for it! TMG- That 7031 of yours has me feeling the same way!
  16. ZZ- Your abilities and talents never cease to amaze me!
  17. What's more... He does not sell outside of Japan and a few select Asian markets.
  18. Wow! Incredibly well done, as per usual; these fantastic vintage projects are one after another for you, W. The 5514 is a seldom seen piece; that said, I am simply in awe. Beautiful!
