  1. Man... The dial just pops with the D-AR treatment! Very nice!!
  2. Well, I ended up refitting the screws as-is. Not wearing the watch is driving me nuts, so I reinstalled them with an epoxy base to secure them. Perhaps I'll further explore the idea of doing WG screws on my next Jumbo...
  3. Well... Plating is out! I am unable to find a source that will plate with WG; only rhodium, which will be too silver, methinks. So for now... I'll just leave mine as is- Recessing the screws as much as possible as George suggests. As for making screws out of WG... I don't know that I have the patience to wait for that. Maybe if I get my hands on another Royal Oak (perhaps white this time), but I miss wearing this one already...
  4. Nice group shot! I especially like the evil PAM and the 036(?). Great collection!
  5. It's just my pics. They look far better in person.
  6. Hmmmm... You got me thinking DuDro... Maybe I'll look into getting a couple of sets made
  7. Well... For the Royal Oak Classics, the bezel screws/bolts are WG without rhodium plating. So... In most cases, they have a warm, yellow-ish glow to them. There are supposedly some gens that also have YG bezel screws (confirmed by some collectors), but I have yet to see one. The Royal Oak Offshores use stainless steel nuts/bolts for a more durable case construction. The appearance of these screws is a bit more cold and clinical...
  8. Sadly, I don't. It stares up at me from the watch box from time to time... Hands at 10:10... Eager to be worn, but it is often overlooked for something a bit more... 'me'....
  9. The trick? To do it very carefully... Some unorthodox methods and tools were used to extract them without marring the case or damage to the surface of the 'screws'.
  10. Not sure where one could go about finding an extra... But this is the main reason why I removed mine proactively. Now I can secure them permanently so that I don't run the risk of losing any while out and about. Giving it some thought... I do have a spare Royal Oak 36mm at home with similar scews. I'll see if I can get one of those loose and compare size. If it's a match, I'll send it to you...
  11. That's one of my worries... Increasing overall size because of the plating. They're a tight fit as it is...
  12. I'll 3rd that pondering... With the extra gears loading down the movement... It's like a Yugo trying to pull a trailer home up a mountain; some of you may know the video I'm making an analogy of, but if not, have a look here Seriously... One of my driving motivations for building my El Primero Daytonas was because that was the only way I'd have a properly functioning, aesthetically correct, 99.99% Daytona on my wrist (with self winding capabilities)...
  13. I know I'm just glad it didn't fit over that paw of yours I love this watch... It would be very difficult for me to be without it... I do think, however that you need to add one to your collection.
  14. Okay... It's not really a predicament, per se... But I'm at a point right now where I have to make a decision on modding my beloved Royal Oak. Last night, I removed all 8 of the bezel 'screws' so that I could resecure them to the bezel properly. While they are out... Should I get these guys plated in WG? As they are, I certainly don't mind their gold-ish appearance, and I certainly don't want to muck about their size/fitting with additional plate. More importantly, I definitely don't want to risk losing one of these little buggers- Something that could invariably happen while getting plated (yes... I'm a pessimist by nature). So... What do the Jumbo owners think? You guys know what the screws look like in person... Should I seize the opportunity and mod? Or simply enjoy the watch? As a mod guy, I'm leaning towards plating. Yet, on the other hand... I'm not too bothered by their original appearance, which at times has the appearance of WG anyways... Hmmmm...
  15. Lookin' good!! Great work... There's nothing like the satisfaction of doing it yourself...
  16. Mine would be toothpicks. I've found them to be an invaluable tool for me as there are so many different uses for them.
  17. BTW... For all of you wondering about the PAMs in the 'other' watch box... WM Kustom Radiomir (45mm): DS 009 Pre-A on a Dirk Pre-A: The old frankenstein Radiomir is currently with kruzer00...
  18. How could I ever part with this one of a kind, doc?
  19. Hey... It says ROLEX on the dial, so it HAS to be genuine, right? Afterall, don't the fakes look like this?
  20. Enjoying a nice relaxing Father's Day with the wife and kids... Life is good
  21. The movement originally came from you. Flavor Flav purchased one of the 3 that you had for sale and transplanted it into the Omega Constellation pictured in my collection. I purchased the watch from him last year, as I simply could not resist! The skeleton 2892 adds a nice touch to the Constellation case...
  22. Ehhhh... Believe me... It pains me to do so. But every now and then, I'll swing by to give them some much needed attention
  23. Good eyes, Chief! That is indeed the Acetimer 10 watch special
  24. Yessir indeed... I'd sport both Daytonas quite frequently.... My co-workers all thought I was nuts, but now they're used to seeing me with a Cosmo on each wrist...
