  1. Very unfortunate and sad to hear. But thanks none the less for providing some insight on what has long since been an unanswered, open ended question for all of us. Thank you, BK.
  2. This thread needs more pics.
  3. Redundancy? What redundancy? In my case, it's usually because I double down on parts for my builds and once I'm done putting together one watch, I end up with enough parts to build another 1.5 of the same thing. In the end I always end up parting with one and keeping the other... So I do diversify. But there are often times when I do have overlap and duplication in my watch box.
  4. Yeah, they did mention you by name; thought that was kinda strange Wasn't that the 'Reverse Cowgirl' episode or something along those lines?
  5. Just to follow up on this- I went to SoCal a week or so back, travelling with 4 watches in a travel case and one watch on my wrist. Flying out to my destination was no problem. Coming home however, TSA did stop me in the security check and asked to inspect the contents of the travel case. They saw that it contained 4 watches, but still insisted on running it through the x-ray conveyor belt twice. After a small group of TSA folks stood around discussing something, they brought my watches back and let me on my way. Not a huge deal in the end; minor inconvenience, but I can't help but feel that maybe I jynxed myself a little by posting this thread before leaving on our trip?
  6. Last day at Disney... Though we're leaving too early to enjoy any time in the park today
  7. Danke, fellers. See you two (plus ASF) later tonight!
  8. Red- 5513 and 5517 MilSubs come with brushed sides Patek for me today...
  9. We all gotta start somewhere, and the hobby (and life) is an ongoing education
  10. The origin of the watch is not the concern; it's more the matter of carrying so many watches through security that I'm concerned about. I don't want to give the TSA any reason to delay me more than necessary...
  11. I really only have just a few watches- 10 or so and they're all continuous works in progress. But I do my best to take each piece as far as I can take it...
  12. A couple of white dials... Not quite white...
  13. No; not COMEX exclusive. S/Ns in the CB were a detail feature until the early 5M range.
  14. Seller may have listed the declarable value at a lower figure to get the parcel through customs without incident. Agree with what has been mentioned- The liability of the transaction depends on what was specified in the sales listing regarding responsibilities of parties involved.
  15. Mrs. Ubi loves her J12: Best of all, it stands up to the daily punishment she puts it through (for some reason, she's really hard on watches). She also has this 1st gen DW:
