  1. The GO and ALS are 100% genuine as is the 861(?) Speedmaster. I believe the LV (going by the SELs) is also genuine .
  2. I've had them before, but haven't been able to find them in a while...
  3. This is more for my personal curiosity- How many watches would you guys feel comfortable travelling with (carry-on) domestically? I've done 3 before; is 5 too many to raise a red flag with the TSA?
  4. Starting the week off with the 16520 again... But maybe changing out to this one later...
  5. Thanks, Andy. I've arranged to have a new spacer fabricated when I send the watch in for service next; the ring that's in place for now is a temporary solution until then
  6. Glad to hear she's okay!
  7. That crystal is an old rep sapphire. Pretty nasty, eh? The inclusions and particles you see are infused/embedded inside the crystal. No way to get rid of them. Same watch after PVD and with a new sapphire fitted: Much better.
  8. Ending the week with a modest 35mm: (Please don't mind the crude movement spacer; it's temporary and on my list of things to correct)
  9. To contact a moderator, you can reach out to any of these guys: http://www.rwg.cc/in...tats&do=leaders Sorry to hear of your experience. Based on the seller's comments, it would appear as though he did the work himself: As such, I'd think that he would stand behind his work and correct these problems, some of which couldn't have occured in transit (i.e. hand alignment).
  10. I hope all is okay with Cathy
  11. 16520 frankenstein today...
  12. USPS does some oddball stuff at times. I had a recent EMS parcel pass through customs twice; first it hit SFO and was then sent over to NYC; inbound and outbound of customs both times. From the time it left NYC, it took 7 days or so to arrive (I'm out West). Total transit time was a little over 2 weeks; so only 11 days longer than the usual EMS delivery That was a head scratcher for me. My F5 button is pretty worn down thanks to USPS oddities like that...
  13. Thanks, Vly. Patina aside, the dial is very intriguing to me as it's quite similar to that of a Nautilus' dial; it changes color and tone depending on the angle/lighting it's viewed from. It can go from near-black to a deep, bright blue to anthracite grey with a flick of the wrist. The brushed surface helps diffuse the monotony of what would otherwise be a large, empty space as do the speckles of the 18k YG dial base peeking through the patina'd areas of the surface. The crisp, polished case framing the dial provides for a very complimenting contrast and the overall simplicity is maybe what I appreciate most. The watch looks very basic and unassuming on the wrist, but what's contained inside and hidden behind the caseback contradicts the exterior. This piece may very well be my favorite in the collection
  14. My 25-19 is a service crystal. I'm not a fan of the vintage high domes mainly because of the distortion they cause. The 'flatter' profile of the service crystal is aesthetically more pleasing to my eye. Not to mention a better chance that they'll properly seal out of the package (i.e. no dry rot, or cracking NOS edges). Just personal pref...
  15. For the dial... Stay tuned. For the movement... Might be a bit before I get to that. Have some other things lining up in my sights as well as a couple of family trips to Disneyland this year; since the conversion will run $5k-ish, I'll probably push it out to maybe later this year...
  16. Thank you, gents. I appreciate the very kind words
