  1. If money were no object... Hmmmm... I think I would have to go for this one- Tradition of Excellence Cabinet Piece No. 4
  2. Good stuff indeed, Usil! New camera and lots of new toys.... Can't wait to see!!
  3. Hey gang, Thank you everyone for your thoughts, comments and opinions All much appreciated! I learned a lot from this thread... Mostly that I have a lot more learning to do! I do appreciate the honesty by all, positive or negative, as it helps me understand what I need to do to improve. So, for that... Thank you! So... For the next 3 or so weeks, while I am at home looking for something to do as I twiddle my thumbs, I will work on trying to apply what's been suggested here All the best... R
  4. Take it personally? Nah... Maybe you didn't see my smiley. But... I do like to see folks who critique back up what they're commenting on. It's one thing to talk the talk... But another to walk the line... But definitely no hard feelings! I asked for thoughts, comments, etc. I respect honesty; that way I know what I need to improve.
  5. Here's the original... feel free to go to town. Meanwhile, I'm off to go fight the crowds at the mall
  6. Man, there is no pleasing some of you guys Tell you what. Why don't YOU show me how it's done?
  7. You can get replacement screws from most of the usual strap dealers. It's recommended that you replace the rep ones anyways, as they are prone to stripping/cross threading easily. I may have an extra pin or two in one of my parts boxes... If I do, I can drop one in the mail. No promises, as I have to sort through a couple of boxes (and I don't even remember if I have any left).
  8. How's this? Better? I just get so bored with the granite... *sigh*
  9. Well... My experience in PS is apparent. To date, I've only used PS for auto levels and adjusting. I'll stick to building frankens... Shooting pics is quite the pain in the ass
  10. Thanks for your honest comments, Pug. The pics are just experimentation; no plans on using the lighting filter for my regular pics. However, I do think that if done right, the filter could have a nice effect on images; I'm just not patient or experienced enough with PS to do it correctly. I did, however, play around with image #3, and make a file that I might use for my sig.... Thanks for the kind words, guys! As I said prior... Comments, criticism, etc. all welcome
  11. Just trying something different for me. Sometimes I think the granite top gets a bit too busy with my images, so I thought I would simplify a bit. Tweaked these a bit in PS... Thoughts? Comments? (Please don't mind the empty carcass in the background... Movement is off at the spa for overhaul...)
  12. Small flat edged file used here as well. It's a slow process, but I feel it's better to take off a little at a time, vs. taking off too much material too fast. Once metal is gone, it's not so easy to put back
  13. Fantastic work, Chris! Man... That is one SMOKIN' hot PAM!! M- I never get tired of seeing those pics of your PAM
  14. Indeed, BT. This is the entire reason why I end up building the Rolex watches in my collection. Most out there are close... But not close enough.
  15. Here are a few pics and details on a Modern 16610 Submariner project I put together... Rehaut- Nice and deep. Datemag- True 2.5x and the crystal etch at 6:00 is not visible without a loupe. Profile (16610 on the top)- note the crystal height, and also the position/height of the crown in relation to the bezel (most sit too low towards the caseback). SELs- Edges of the mid link should be crisper, but overall, the shape and size of the SEL is quite close. SEL is also 3 pieces fused together. The crown and tube are genuine, as is the insert. Case is of unknown origin (I got it in a trade- I suspect it may be MBW or TW Best, but there are some details and characteristics that make me doubt either). The dial and bracelet are from a TWG 21j Sub. Sorry for the bad pictures.... R
  16. WOW! Black Magic is I never really LOVED the BB, until I saw that one...
  17. Good stuff, Bruce. Amazing how much material needs to come off, eh? This is not a difficult mod... But a time consuming one. Lot of trial and error until the fit is just right. Just when you think you've got enough material removed, you'll find that you still need to take off more Your 16800 is really shaping up nicely! It looks great!
  18. Haha... I'm going to get a t-shirt with 'JETMID' printed on the chest. That way, if any of you see me out and about with this shirt on, you'll know it's me Spa- What a great experience! It's funny to think... You could be standing next to a fellow forum member in line at the bank, grocery store, or at the next table at a restaurant, and never know it...
  19. My stance goes unchanged switching to ETA will still fix the problem...
