  1. MDL- T'is an interesting piece, but one I'd steer clear from (especially at it's current bid of $1051.99). The dial is off, and not a very good redial in my opinion (lots of flaws); bezel insert is making me scratch my head, the case back is wrong, and of course, the movement is incorrect for a 5513 anyways. I think you'd be better of converting an MBW 1680 into a Tudor, or a 5513; It would cost less to do such a project, and you'd have essentially the same thing once it's done (An ETA based Sub). Just my $0.02...
  2. W- With kind comments like that, how can I not blush?
  3. For anyone who's interested... Arthur has a nice 166.024 SM300 (date model) frankenstein for sale...
  4. Lovely!! One of my favorites as well... And my usual daily wearer!
  5. Is a good, high quality Royal Oak Chronograph Impossible is nothing?
  6. Gorgeous pics! The rich lustre of the RG looks so sumptious!
  7. Thanks all for the warm, kind comments! I am humbled So... Is it time for an encore yet?
  8. Agree// The replica looks MUCH nicer to me as well. My question is... How durable is the ceramic case, and how prone to scratching/chipping/etc. is it over time? My wife is not gentle with her watches; if I were to get her a J12, those would be my main concerns...
  9. The walls are the same color as the sills. Some sort of offwhite color that the builder used... We contemplated going with a different color for certain rooms, but the builder wanted some insane amount to paint 'custom' colors.
  10. Why, none other than the infamous Valjoux 7750!
  11. Please make it so... I've been dreaming of a good Royal Oak chronograph for a very long time now...
  12. A nice, laid back Saturday afternoon today. Just finished cleaning the house with my wife, and I have some time to kill before some friends come over for dinner tonight Thanks for looking... Randy
  13. Should be rather easy to fix. Just need to access the keyless works to reposition the release button. I've done it a few times on some UT's and the sort (after unscrewing the release too far). I have an old ETA that needs this done as well. Perhaps if I get some time to sit down with it, I could do a photo walk through?
  14. Personally, I love the vintage Tudors; especially the Subs, and the Montecarlos...
  15. Indeed. It's sometimes hard to take a gen apart to make a frankenstein. I almost feel bad about doing it. Almost...
  16. I just had a look in the reviews section, and much to my delight, I saw TONS of review postings by the legendary Dave Gates. I really missed seeing Dave's excellet write ups on his wonderful and vast collection. Seeing his postings makes me feel nostalgic from the old days Great to see you back Dave!
  17. Very cute, Eddy! A watch lover just like her dad! BTW- I think her photog skills are better than mine!
  18. Will you wear them Maradona style?
  19. The genuine 16623 white dial has blacked out indicies, but has white lume arrows placed on the dial just inset of the circle markers. If you look closely at this pic, you can see them... The only way to get the rep's dial accurate in this sense is to have someone add the arrows in after the fact.
  20. Can't get this off my wrist...
  21. I agree- The rep industry moves quite fast, and it's easy for new models to be superceded by even newer models in very little time. Perhaps the best solution is to encourage more people to do watch reviews, with pics, dealer information, date of purchase, etc. to give a good indication of what specific generation watch is being discussed, etc.
