I could have sworn that By-Tor's Explorer II was in fact a Noob model with gen dial installed? Linky to By-Tor's reviews I suppose the only true way of knowing is to remove the movement/dial and measure/compare...

I would probably suggest finding a nice solid brown insert and also keeping the two-color insert as well. Using the two-color would be kind of similar to a pepsi bezel on a SS 1675. Think it might give a neat aesthetic. At the same time, it would be good to have the solid on hand, either for a change of appearance or just to have it for sake of being 'correct'. Looking forward to seeing pics when it arrives!

Errrr... 2894? That's a 2892 with DD module to create a seconds at 3:00 chrono. Here are a couple of pics of my old WM9... V1, so the crown is positioned for an ETA 2836 (a 3135 wouldn't fit this one). This is what I'd look for with the rehaut:

Hmmmm... Rehaut looks like it's got quite a bit of angle, and perhaps too shallow. The crown height doesn't look to be the correct position/height at profile to accept a gen 3135 either.

The dial probably wouldn't fit a standard rep case. But if you have one of the new 1655 cases that's out, if chiman says it will fit, it'll fit! As for the bezel and insert above; it is intended to fit a gen. Both are aftermarket, but they are gen spec. Since the 25-116 fits that new 1655 case, all you'd need is a retention ring to fit. One can even be custom machined if necessary...

Well, the problem with using a bezel assmebly from another rep is that it likely won't fit. Most rep 1675s are different in size, some of which were based on a 5513 case which has a different size rehaut lip/crystal O.D. I've had this bezel ring and insert for a long while, and honestly I have no idea what I'm going to do with it, if anything. It does need a retention ring and washer...

Andei, The 1675 bezel is a 4 pc. assembly that consists of: 1) Retaining ring 2) Friction washer 3) Bezel ring 4) Bezel insert It's very similar to a Submariner, which is pictured below:

It's always possible that someone might have a dial left over from a project that they've built. It would be a good idea to post a WTB in the tools/parts or wanted section of the forum here. I just checked my parts; all I have is a 1680 MBK dial in the parts bin. No 1665, unfortunately

If you cut the link out, it will disrupt the taper/transition from the clasp link to 3rd link as well. You might not be too happy with the results...

Should be able to retrofit either way; the MBK dial should fit fine with the ETA in the PT; the PT movement should fit fine in the MBK case.

Most 1675/8's that I see have the solid color bezel insert on (i.e. all black, all brown); the two-color bezel insert is more common with the two tone 1675/3, methinks.

For a 14270, you definitely want the 36mm/20mm lug case I went with the 16200 since the case came with the smooth bezel as-is; one less part to have to hunt down. Definitely a fun project! Cheers! //ubi

Hmmmm... for removing bezels, just slot the razor in to start a gap. From there, you can use a blunt edged blade like an old butter knife to span the gap and eventually work it off. Much safer that way...
