  1. Givin' the Snowflake a day off... T, you just look TOO relaxed!
  2. Geeze, R, seems so strange to see you without a Rollie or Tudor! I like this - very "industrial" looking!
  3. Let's get this ball rolling!
  4. Hmmm... What are you insinuating, M?
  5. I think I've taken this project as far as I care to and from this point I'll just enjoy wearing it. I wiped off the painted on pearl and installed a Clark's pearl dot and Brother Woof* felt sorry for the little mutt and came through with a gen crown! I may mill the case and engrave it someday but ain't nobody gonna see it but me! I also put in a freshly serviced ETA 2846 a week ago and as of right now I'm only 8 seconds fast and this is with is sitting in the watch box for over 24 hours! Again, thanks to TeeJay for the decals, woof for the crown, and Ubi for providing the subconscious "nudge" that caused me to quit procrastinating!
  6. I buy the clone movements by themselves (not in watches) and I have had to repair two of them OOTB and they took ETA parts. One needed a train wheel bridge due to a funky jewel and the other needed a mainspring barrel due to a couple buggered teeth. I used standard ETA parts for both and there were no fitting issues... I have also purchased the 2824 clones and really can't tell the difference.
  7. I kinda prefer a daily as it's a lot easier to get through...
  8. Not the most accurate thing kicking around but I still think it looks nice... Just for M, the test subject for his case-back!
  9. I knew there had to be a reason this was so cheap when I ordered it.
  10. Looks good on ya! I had fun with my part of the project and hope you have at least as much fun wearing it!
  11. What else! I promise, something different tomorrow. But I'm very happy as I put a 2846 I had recently serviced in this on Monday and today it's 2 sec fast!!!
  12. The UV cement I have is a cyanoacrylic compound not too unlike superglue. I suppose it could react with/weaken plexi...
  13. Chi, I think I understand and had the same issue putting overlays on a 2671 - they would rub on the movement plate...
  14. I'm afraid I would get stuff crooked ala eurotimez DSSD V5. But, it's a thought...
  15. Unfuc%^ngbelievable. You get a full refund for the movement, get other work performed at the same time, and you complain because you are not getting the additional work for free? I know how I would handle this...
  16. I have created a "negative" of this artwork and printed it at 1200 dpi and the results are encouraging... I have also ordered a new printer to replace my aging HP inkjet printer and it boasts 6000 x 2400 dpi resolution so maybe it can do something... Another neat feature of the Alps is that it can print metallic silver, gold, etc...
  17. I've spent $500 on this damn printer specifically for this project and I am determined to get something out of it!
  18. Are you talking about grinding off the Rolex teeth and thinning the original date wheel to glue on the Rollie DW as an overlay?
  19. My < 1 year old Cartel 5512 took a replacement crystal with no machining at all. If it wasn't for the stumpy CGs it would be a fantastic watch for the money - instead of just great...
  20. It should and the insert on these are very thin (IIRC) and are stuck in with some kind of double-stick stuff...
