16520 Zenith Daytona..if you looking to build
Big Dazza replied to concepta's topic in The Rolex Area
that is friggin sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet -
I had a package delivered from a td in China to the UK on 22nd May after sitting in Coventry for over a week. The package had clearly been opened but all 3 rollie reps were still in the package and had no letter or customs charges. Guessing I was lucky.

Yup the numbers and markers on the bezel insert are relumed
-
Yea I've got better inserts made now so once the watches are completed I'll get some better photos up, I'll have spare inserts available too
-
I believe its the same watch, was circa $850 I think I got it for. I prefered the no rad dial but defo needs modding from standard
-
Haha send a blank cheque my way I've got a better version of the bezel insert for the Phong FF so hopefully when I get it all put back together I'll be able to take some better photos. The only problem with Phongs watch is the hands as standard are way off, with the Dsn hands and Omega hand fitted it looks a million times better
-
Well guys! I have lusted over the fifty fathoms for years and finally pulled the trigger on one from Dsn and Phong! Long story short is they both came with a lot of faults and I am still in the process of modding them but here is two quick photos: Dsn's has been aged and relumed by me and I also had some custom bezel inserts cut and engraved from acrylic. These were painstakingly relumed, sprayed black and reshaped to fit in the contours of the bezel. ( I may have a few bezels extra that I can relume and finish for anyone interested). Phongs FF has had the dial aged and textured, Dsn hour and minute hands aged and relumed fitted and an Omega seconds hand broached relumed and fitted. Also had an acrylic bezel made for it (the pictured one is an early prototype, new pics will follow) Great thing about Phongs FF is the 3 piece case construction and vintage A. Schilds movement. Standard Phong with wrong hands and bezel insert: Work in progress: Overall, not very accurate watches but extremely fun working on them and I think they'll look great when finished.

I'm pretty sure I installed a 'big lollipop' second hand on that build

Can Any Useful info be gathered from these Pics?

Looks like the gold has worn off the centre links. I say its a fake Also is that the same watch you posted up before? Because the bracelet is different from the first pics to the most recent one -
holy s-*t batman! That looks great!

Yes

Thanks guys! I love modding to make vintage watches look more correct
-
I think so too! Here are mine
-
Pm me if you need more details dont know if they want it disclosed publicly. But yea Dennis seems a great guy to deal with, answered about a million of my questions
-
Same one as the one I modded, cant wait! oh boy oh boy!
-
Yup so nice that I just ordered myself one!
-
I think it comes with a clone or seagull movement for $4xx, dial came with the watch when it was sent to me for modding
-
I only sanded the bezel insert slightly to give it a less shiny look, those bezel inserts are glued in solid. Im asking for a spare insert when I buy mine to relume it. Saying that the insert on the watch I was modding wasnt quite as yellow as that photo I found
-
Heres what it looked like originally (image from googler but same watch especially)
-
I'm contacting a guy called Dennis Rudy about getting one, aint cheap though and will defo need to age it, the stock dial is way too clean and shiny
-
Hey guys just finished aging this Blancpain Fifty Fathoms for someone and thought I'd share Such an improvement over the stock dial (pity its too dark to take some good photos). Think I'll be off to buy myself one now, really fallen in love with the FF.

Help Identifying Vintage Omega Seamaster Model Number
Big Dazza replied to Big Dazza's topic in General Discussion
Case back doesn't open on my model and can only get it open from the front and I think this one is a split stem crown, trying to get an oem replacement crystal and crown. The crystal on it at the moment has the tiny omega symbol in the centre of the plexi so trying a mini restoration I think this might be a 135.0020 model although the omega website states it should be a gold plated watch with that number, but when I search Google there are stainless versions going by that model number. -
Can any USA members help me with triangular shipping to UK?

Help Identifying Vintage Omega Seamaster Model Number
Big Dazza replied to Big Dazza's topic in General Discussion
Hi buddy the back: can only open the watch through the dial side (through bezel) and the caseback itself is part of the case
