yes there is there should be either [a small button to push] or [a small screw to turn] to release the stem. search for the term uncasing, that should get you going

@ciborg i'll let others chime in about that watch, but it is on my list of panerai to get. you can either pm me or post here what is confusing and we'll do our best to straighten you out. the numbers inside of the (parentheses) are the model numbers for the watches. that way you can refer to the exact model that you like. and i'll make a small confession in that when i first started getting into panerai, i said to myself "how will i ever keep track of all of the different models, there are just too many and it is just too confusing!!!" then i read and studied the pics until i couldn't take it anymore. and then i did it again and again and again. you'll get the hang of it, just be patient with it. @c_j thanks for the kind words @ehtolcad don't you have better things to fill your brain with than panerai model numbers?

@sam i'm willing to bet that you'll end up with 2 of the sets (orig and replacement) and reg will end up with this red flag from paypal. that does not seem like a fair trade-off whether we're talking 10 bucks or 1,000. another point to be very careful with is to insinuate for one moment that reg is anything but completely professional, because it is just not true. what you did was extremely short-sighted and it is surely unfortunate that things have unfolded as they have. so what - he didn't return emails as quickly as you wanted him to...other dealers may have NEVER responded to emails after payment was sent. keep that in mind if you can find a dealer that will do business with you. when you talk about people standing up for 'this dealer' it's not because anyone is trying to protect anyone else. it's not because anyone is trying to kiss up to a particular dealer. it's because reg is as trustworthy as they come. when some talk about a dealer-customer relationship, it's not b.s. at all. our dealers have developed solid, proven track records with every deal they have done with members of these boards. when you see so many people posting in unison, it's no conspiracy, it's honest responses. so here's where i'll put my money where my mouth is: i just got a link pin tool from none other than narikaa himself. if he does indeed fail you, i will send you mine free of charge. that's what watcher is talking about when he speaks of community. at this point, i'm sure that few would be looking out for you, but i'll be damned if reg's reputation suffers due to this situation. i am certain that even though you have created some waves for him with paypal, he'll still come through for you like he has on countless other occasions for other members and for me.

andrew's right, but if you want to go even simpler you could go for a radiomir base (210) or a luminor base (112). then if you wanted a variant of the luminor you could go with a titanium base (176) or with sub-seconds at 9 (177) or get really crazy and go for the vintage logo base (000). i'm also partial to the 005 logo as well. don't even get me started on davidsen's custom vintages either. (randy, eddy, etc. this is your cue to post pics of yours) if you want the 'best' chronograph my personal favorite is the tantalium (192) on bracelet, but you may be hard pressed to come by one of the good ones. many will argue the best chrono is the 1950 flyback (212) , but i dislike the asian 7750 (and the swiss 7750 is a bit pricey) so that's a no-go for me. honestly, you can't go wrong. buy a 187 and scare the living hell out of every other normal human being around you or go undercover and get a 40mm mini-me - either way you're fine. good luck on the search

the only thing that caught my eye was that it says that it uses the RXW case, which is not correct. but from hearing your description it sounds like it is the same. i guess as they say a picture is worth a thousand words....can't wait for the pics!
