  4. After one year of nearly daily use of my DSSD i decided to mod the watch as it was showing minor signs of wear. I lost most of the letters of the caseback and the engraving of the bezel startet to change the colour a little bit. So i took a little bit of those: and painted the bezel and the caseback, as well as the bracelet: after it turned out that good I decided to matt the dial as well, so i disassambled the movement and dial After the first run of matt spray varnish it looked quite good. There was just a little excess around one of the indexes. I tried to solve the problem with a little paintbrush with a little bit of varnish.... It didn
  5. I´ve had the same "problem" with my gen Pam 90. When setting the time i always wind one hour in advance an then wind back to the exact time. That solved the problem for me.
  6. + 1 Its an easy mod i performed on my Avenger Skyland. Wrap the floss around a few turns and push the end down with a razor blade. Relay easy. Have fun with your watch, drolson

  9. The main problem for me would be that Panerai refuses to service customized watches afaik. So you need a watchsmith you can really rely on and that gives a warranty on his work. In addition i personaly don´t like the look of beadblasting and the look of the PVD will differ from the original because of the different surface. So for me personaly this would be a no go except the price was unbelievably good.
  10. You are damn right.
  11. double post
  12. Since my wife started to wear my SDDS a few weeks ago i knew i had to do something special to get my watch back (especially because it used to be my daly beater) I always liked the new GMT IIc, and as my wife liked the ceramic bezel of the SDDS i decided to buy one at Precious Time (great contact and service as usual) Today the watch arrived and i
  13. The dental floss mod (wrap around the bezelan push it down with a razor blade). I like the Pam 194 the most. Maybe it´s not the most accurate, but it´s a monster. Too sad no EU based dealer can provide it. Would buy it instantly.
  14. Indipendent of the directon of the valve i would seal it once and forever with epoxy to be sure that no water is coming in. I just followed the instructions of gio, it´s realy easy.
  15. Thanks to this thread i took out my Pam again. And i like it . Actually wearing it with a BOB Vertigo Buffalo 24/24 I think it´s quite cool.
  16. I purchased the strap and the folding clasp at PANATIME. The contact was very nice an got fast replies to my questions. Over all i

  19. I had the same problem with my Skyland. Fixed it with dental floss just like chazglenn3 mentioned. Wraped it around two times and pushed the end down with a razor blade, worked fine for me Just give it a try , greetings DrOlson

  21. Thanks Lani, aktually i was thinking of purchasing one , but i also like the SS HBB, and the AP ROO black themes, and the GMT IIc. Or maybe i should just buy myself a 111 and mod it... or what about the fiddy. And i definitely need the Avenger Skyland Blacksteel, and the UPO, and the Steelfish with white dial, no maybe ill have to get the big pilot first ....... i need to calm down i think

  23. Hi folks, since im browsing the forum on a daily basis and have gained valuable information on both reps and gens i decidet to "step into the light" and introduce myself to the forum. Im 29 years old and i´m crazy about watches since i can remember. As most people i started with a few quarz watches like swatch and others. As i learned to appreciate the value of mechanical movements i proceeded to Seiko (the famous SKX007) and Steinhart. As my girlfriend somehow managed to loose my Seiko it decided to save up for a real watch. So after a long year of working an saving i finally bought my first expensive watch, the PO Chorono. But as you all know the addiction got stronger and stronger and i had to have a second watch. I was always fancy about Panerai (in fact i had planed to buy the Pam 212 but then choose the PO Chrono), but back then the Panerai-hype was at its peak and as a result the prices, even for used watches, were extremly high. A long story short, after months of searching i found a preowned, unused Pam 90 at an unbeatable price (as you will see later i could not resist). For the next year i was satisfied, just browsing the fora to be up to date. And then i saw the first pictures of the rolex SDDS..... , tried it on at the ad... ... you all know the rest. As im still in the funding process i thougt about purchasing a rep, did some research and thats how i ended up at RWG. Now i have ordered two watches in a few months, and i´m afraid, that there are more to come. SO THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR BRINGING MY ADDICTION TO A WHOLE NEW LEVEL. As i like to watch some pictures and as i know you like watching pictures here you go: The box: Wristshots:
  24. I ordered at precious time. He told me he could get the V2 which i wanted. But there was a misunderstanding, so he sent me the V3. Just write PT an e-mail and ask him. drolson
