  1. At least you're prepared to have a go and get your hands dirty. I've carried out minor mods on several of my reps with varying degrees of success, not always pretty but I've learned a bit. Bob.
  2. I love big chunky watches and if they're waterproof that's an added bonus! Bob.
  3. I didn't bother fiddling with mine, I just epoxied it shut from the back. No way the sucker will leak now! Bob.
  4. We appreciate your efforts but as has already been pointed out (i) the auction still has over 6 days to run (ii) it hasn't reached reserve yet. If you keep an eye on it you will see it will sell for 3-4 times the current price. Bob.
  5. Thanks for the heads up, I'll be staying in Shinjuko next Jan so will be close by. Bob.
  6. Myself I think the contrast looks great and if it was coupled with a white dial....WOW! Bob.
  7. I hope it goes to court and the arrogant sods get hammered! Bob.
  8. Nice! I'm a fan of nice clean uncluttered looks. Bob.
  9. I've never been a fan of white faces untill I started reading this thread, now I've started lusting after several of the watches shown here! Hmmmm....I can feel an expensive couple of months coming on... Bob.
  10. I've got a Chinese made wall clock in my den with a smooth sweep second hand, it uses 1 x AA battery a year. It also keeps pretty good time. Bob.
  11. Oh good God, that's just put me off my lunch!! Bob.
  12. As with anything it's worth what the market will pay, certainly a stunning time piece, thanks for the link. Bob.
  13. Very nice indeed, after I receive my DSSD that might be my next purchase. Bob.
  14. Hi guys, when I set the time on my BS the minute hand doesn't move for a minute after setting. i.e. I set the minute hand on 12, wait for the time source minute to also reach 12 then push the crown in to restart the watch. When the time source is showing 1 min past mine is still sitting at 12. When the source shows 2 min past mine now shows 1 min past. If I set the time a minute fast then after 1 min everything is equal. Any info as too why? I might add that I know of one other BS that does the same thing. Bob.
  15. I found that fully winding the watch before putting it on the winder also helped. Bob.
  16. It's amazing how what starts as one or two suddenly blossoms into a collection! Bob.
  17. That's a great looking 'rep' of a rep! Bob
  18. Thanks for the welcome guys, lovin' it here already! Bob.
  19. That looks awesome! When I eventually receive my new DSSD I might seriously think about getting it DLC'd. Bob.
  20. That is a nice looking watch, you gotta be happy with that! Bob.
  21. No probs guys, I've received replicas from other dealers a lot sooner but given the faults they've had I would have preferred it if the dealer had taken longer and checked the watch thoroughly before sending. That's one of the reasons I've bought from Chris plus of course the glowing endorsements for this DSSD here and on other forums. Bob.
  22. Well, after reading all the reviews on here I ordered a v5 DSSD from Eurotimez today. I've also requested the Swiss ETA movement to be fitted and I can hardly wait until it arrives. Bob.
  23. Hi Guys, another noob from Oz signing on, I'm looking forward to sharing in this great world of reps. Bob.
