Great pics and great work Pete
Although I am not a lover of the full vintagised look for my own wrist ..are you thinking of doing any vintagising at all to those or leaving them as is? I did try one slightly vintagised but I still couldnt get on with it personally.
I think the Okbaum CG is worth while as an addition but not worth it IMO if your going to keep that clean look
DSN has been doing some decent cases of late
Thanks for sharing
I did but it wasnt tidy enough and the lamp was the old shape bulb and the door didnt close properly plus the window wasnt thick enough and the light was too dull and didnt last long enough plus the bath was the wrong shape .......shall I go on
In UK we have department stores with there own watch smiths who tend to able to repair the cheaper fashion watches that the store sells, do you have similar in US? If so that might be worth a go.
I know in UK you can send them an Email from the website with queries etc. They always respond quickly though cant answer for US mate.
Did you get it direct or from an outlet shop? If so I would contact them.
If they sell the watch you can use that for reference if not you might find they sell the same case etc just different face as its more a design/fashion seller if you know what I mean... apologies if I am stating the obvious
I have a few Kings the tantalum BB King I have is almost bang on for a rep that is, the only really noticeable thing on the dial is the Swiss Made position but apart from that I am happy with it.
Maybe if it was a PAM iIwould probably be making similar comments but as for the 236/250 comparison this is equally flawed in comparison with the King IMHO
Common issue on the reps, various reasons mostly common sense.
I dont use this method to close the crown myself except on the gens. I especially wouldnt on these ones given Zigs comments on the crown and stems issues
Very nice mate
I have 2 incoming myself the A6 and LZ3
Maybe we can swap lume shots
Post some shots when you get it...put it in the lume sub forum... Oh hold on!!! we aint got one !!!!
I was just typing a reply in a thread and the title under my avatar caught my eye as its longer than it use to be though I can recall what it said...It now says Ha! Ha! Gotcha etc etc.
Is this a default thing or can someone throw a line in there for a wind up ?? I dont mind just curious thats all ?
If its default is there a list as I assume it is related to post count or something ??
I was wondering if I could just have '[censored]' under it and be done with it :) I think thats sums me up
I just noticed its changed again !! in less than an hour..
Mate you must be very proud of your result..
Your Dad would be very impressed and I am sure would want it back... I hope it brings nothing but good memories back to you
The other thing to remember is that all lume is measured in strength, I am not sure of the units used. So the scientific answer may not be bourne out with the answers here except mine of course
Perhaps if your really keen to find out the answer definitively try research on google for the actual lume manufacturers then relate that to the lume the gen brands use, though admittedly that might be easier said than done
I think given what you have said you are just going to have to go through the finer process again, it is very time consuming and may never be perfect in your eyes certainly
Next time and without wanting to sound patronizing I suggest you use other methods to remove the AR as thats quite a pricey and time consuming method to use.
The best is always the medium felt wheel on a dremel and rouge. Though if its on a dome crystal only use a smaller dimensioned wheel as the bigger wheels create more heat more quickly.
I read recently about a member hat uses CC to thin out rep AR with gently motion and wax ear buds!! the results seem good in pics though close up remains to be seen..I need to try myself when the opportunity arises
If you dont have a dremel then I have never needed anything more than SS polish and Micro fibre small grade to remove AR, including Chiefs coating or any of the harder coatings.
Good luck mate
