I think you will find the CG will need some work or better replacement.... Dial is better but still lacking in terms of most of the new 44s... I would need to check as I write this but I think the millesimations are wrong.... It's certainly a step up in 40mm reps but it's lacking the grade of the better 44s around IMHO

PAM 382 Bronzo released... comments welcome :-)
PeteM replied to swdivad's topic in The Panerai Area
It's a nice rep for sure.... And whether it's the CuSn8 alloy as per the gen it's still certainly a bronze alloy... As for CPs .... That is not a rule with gens... The type of look of a cp finished can vary from model to model and even within model batches.. To simply assume they are all flattened and polished is not something that should be relied upon... I am looking to see the finished KW... Although the initial pics ain't impressing me overall.... It's still not something that I can judge properly as it's a WIP A few little mods the these ZF models and it will be a great on the wrist rep.... Be interesting to see all the patina posts to come whether natural, artificially done or even maintained without... -
Oh yes you are!!! even your mrs tells us that!! Wear it in good health mate..... Just a few slight mods and it's a great rep.... I look forward to seeing KWs ... But so far his pics ain't impressed me... But it's a WIP so it's hard to make a judgement...

Good news Big man Sorry to hear about yours Darren... Anyone reading should be aware that some dealers still guarantee the watch to arrive even if it's seized... Ie they will resend another when they see proof... You should check if it's a concern with the dealer you plan on ordering from..... ( remember though any dealer can get any current model even if it's not on thier site etc) I think some also guarantee if you use triangle shipping ... Which costs more... And it's a bit daft that with triangle it's come to UK anyway first ... But at least by doing it that way you can guarantee that you will get a watch

If you understand mate... I don't get your point?

A Big Bang is an unnumbered bezel with chrono dials, tourbillon, skeleton....It comes in Evolution or Arabic dials ( ie batons or numbers) I am not aware of any in 48 except rep fantasy models The Big Bang King is a 'diver' watch ie it has a marked bezel that rotates for diving purposes ... It is available in 45 and 48 and generally is an evo dial Then you have King Power which is 48 and has a fixed bezel with varying complications , chrono, rattropante, minute alarm etc Then you have the Ferrari style which is 45 And the newer QR models that are unico movement (not repped) and of course the Fusions the ladies sizes and the LEs and Tutti's etc Rep Makers vary and flaws etc vary too.... V6 is from the Tag maker and they make some of the better Big Bang models but it is model dependent then there is the H maker... Again they make some models that are better especially CF models... Though H movements aren't great overall... Flaws vary from bezel knurling (that's across all models and makers and an easy tell on the wrist) then you get AR variations, hand size variations, screws, height of crystal, overall finish of the dial including sub dial position and size/depth etc etc It all depends on the rep model and the maker dictates the flaws... General the V6 is considered generally the better versions but there are some models that are not as good... For me apart from the knurling, crystal, AR etc that can be spotted on the wrist... The biggest tell is the finishing especially the way the dial markers reflect in the light especially indoors... There is a look in the finish the gen has that the reps don't recreate ... But to spot that you would have to know Hublots... As I say that's just me Now please understand I am writing a very general post here... There is far more in the details, history, models etc..... But if I did all that I would be typing till tomorrow

Paypal is an option that can be given upon request... But you need to be vetted (not quite the term but closest I can think of) It's important to understand how money can be lost by having a blanket paypal option.... The dealers can get really screwed using this method ... What the shittier guys do is order by pp then get tracking number etc and then make a claim back... Dealers are unable to really argue as it creates to much attention to them and the guy whose pp account they use... As they can't use thier own and need to keep changing it to avoid problems... It is always important for anyone buying reps in this world to remember that this is an illegal hobby and dealers suffer high losses and raids if they are not careful.... And likewise this risk attracts guys that take advantage of that when buying....

It's the same mistake we make about you..... After all who would think that you are actually a drag queen impersonator of Tina Turner... Who has been regularly appearing in shows at the Blue Oyster Bar since the late 70s.... But do I judge..., ???????!!!!!! How could I ??!?! Otherwise you would stop giving me make up tips !!!!

I always wonder just what a guy who says that Angus ain't helpful or friendly must have done or said to get a negative response... The one thing I know of Angus is he is a very polite and courteous guy especially for a guy from the Chinese dealers.. As they can come across as curt or short due to language differences... But Angus speaks better English than me... So I can only think that any guy saying that is truly the customer from hell (because Angus can take a llot of crap and moaning and still remain courteous )or he hasn't been speaking to Angus...and found himself dealing with a clone site or talking to one of guys that doesn't speak a lot of English and is not used to the short para phrasing in replies....
-
LOL.... I bet the OP has moved on to Hublots by now ...
-
Guys don't worry yourselves ... Angus and puretime are trusted and very good dealers... You will get what you pay for.... Assuming you are ordering on puretime and not a clone... Also his current site is having some issues with payments... As in they ain't going through straight away so don't panic Right now is a Chinese holiday so you won't hear anything till Tuesday or so when they catch up.... Another thing I would mention is that some guys have been duped by sites that copy Puretime with very slight variations to the URL ... Be aware to carefully check what site you are on... Currently Angus is using his back up site as listed in op and hoping to get his main site back up soon...

It is simple to relume the bottom plate... If you separate and removed lume you would find the shaped numbers/markers engraved in the plate.... So filling is easy just fill up the engravings.. You need a C1plus C3 mix to match gen... Usually in thirds The ST on the back refers to steel... It's on all OEM back plates unless of course they are brass I wouldn't use a KW model as the case and CG are wrong shape and incorrect markings... There are other flaws but overall it's not as accurate to gen as the ZF... The only problem with ZF is consistency so if you go that route be careful with QC... I say that because I was fortunate enough to have all 3 ... Gen KW and ZF.... I need to get round to doing a review sometime to highlight the flaws and accuracies of both reps...

Be aware of DHL... With watches... Most dealers won't send Rolex or Tag by them.... UK customs is a strange bird... And very much a lottery... You can have packages opened and just re packed , you can have one rep removed and one rep seized, sometimes they mark package up with a yellow customs examination sticker, other times no sticker but still opened...occasionally they get seized... And if they do believe it or not your name or address is not blacklisted... That's an urban myth... I had a package 2 weeks ago and one watch was taken a PAM and the LW was sent onto me... I had another 3 packages after that all opened and none seized including a PAM... I then had 2 packages seized... A PAM, 2 Rolex , a JL and an AP.... And after they were seized and letters from border agency received I had 7 packages all come in...all to same name and address... So it's a lottery however when compared to other countries in EU the risks are much lower I spoke to a guy who worked for FedEx at uk customs... He explained how packages were checked and sorted.... He also explained what level you have to be as an importer to get an alert against your details... As punters here we are not warranted... Generally if you are showing as tracking info... As "Awaiting Customs Clearance" or "forwarded for processing" and still in "international hub" but your package is in that state for 5 days (not including weekends) then your package has been set aside for inspection if it's over 7 chances are you will get a letter from border agency... I have had 4 such letters.... Though sometimes you may be lucky if it's after 7 but it's certainly being opened... It seems they only seize if the brands agent is available on site, they are only there part time so if your package is opened when say the Richemont guy is there then your PAM will be taken.... But if it's the day the Rolex guy is there and not thevRichemont then the Rolex will be seized and the Pam sent on... I have even learned the names of some of the brand agents after all my experiences.... They all work on the basis that everything from china is fake... But brand agents they tend to focus thier attention in clothing and accessories...and bulky orders like wholesale orders..

Hopefully you will get at least what you ordered mate.... regardless of the rep you chose itself or the price you paid.. It is unfortunate and its easy to draw upon where you went wrong .... hindsight can be a cruel bedfellow... unfortunately it is more painful when realised ... but regardless hopefully you will learn from it and use this place to find you the advice and information you need rather than rely on it to give it to you... Good luck mate -
So are saying that you would buy a used Swiss in a rep from a maker for a $4/500 mark up... knowing just alone the way the makers operate and produce watches? Even most of the reps stating Swiss anything (other movements) are usually anything but Swiss.... Have you read the threads by Angus in his section.... it may help your understanding of the rep industry plus I would suggest you read around more mate generally regarding the rep makers as a whole...

If I follow the question mate... The main reason is cost ...most guys and remember we are including guys outside our forums... want a cheapish watch to copy the gen thye dont care like we do about the quality of a movement... they just want it to look like a gen that is even assuming they know the difference !! But in addition .... you have issues like sourcing and installing in terms of wastage or damage done by these guys working for the maker etc etc... It is easier and cheaper for us to buy a rep and swap the movement for a Swiss than it is to ask for makers to make versions with Swiss movements You can just picture a guy posting a thread on here.. I am looking at this SA and they are both same but one has Swiss 7750 and one is Asian. 7750.. but price is $400 (minimum) difference which should I buy? Replies would all say get the Asian ...it is a good movement and when serviced is robust and will last for years if done right and looked after... or it will be get Asian and swap with a Swiss it would be cheaper or you can be certain that the whole movement is Swiss or not a dud etc etc You can buy a Swiss on its own either new or used for around $300 upwards (its a straight swap most of time)..... you can buy a cheap used watch with a Swiss movemnt and swap...I have bought a Swiss 25J 7750 in a crappy watch for $120... the point is if you search and know what to look for and do your due diligence etc you can pick up a pretty cheap Swiss..but be careful you can just as easily get scammed with a swiss Or you can when getting the watch serviced have the watchsmith replace the more critical parts with ETA parts ..so you end up with a franken movement...again I have done that but its usually chepaer to just buy the movemnt whole... So if you get a rep with 7750.... wear it for a bit and then decide if its going to be kept for a period of time either a keeper or say I will keep it for at least this year etc then you can decide if you want to pay out for a service... and also balance that against buying a Swiss 7750 maybe already serviced ... If that is say 350 Euros and a service on the rep is 150 Euros then that 150 Euros mnight be a good option if you want to keep it or at least plan to... Then when selling take the Swiss out and replace with the original movement or sell complete and cover cost of movement and a percentage of the initial movement service cost against how long you owned it or wore it etc... Another good way is to always look about for a Swiss...whether in a watch or on its own or in the M2M and if its cheap enough buy it even if you dont need it at that time... what you are doing is tking advantage of how cheap it is... then use it later...there will always come a time when you will want a rep running 7750..and if not you can still sell it later on as someone will always want one.. But in any case you should always teach yourself about all the variations of the Swiss movements..ie Beat rate, Jewels, complications, etc etc most of these are usually dependant on each other but it is good to understand them..when looking and asking sellers..and of course you can ask on here
