The biggest give away that you're wearing a fake IMO
PeteM replied to busetinha's topic in General Discussion
I find it helps to wear my reps around my wife.... she always drowns out the excessive noise... or rather she becomes it... Though I agree with most points above regarding servicing and other gens... -
Honts a good guy and a TD elsewhere... so possibly are noobwatch but never used them.. As suggested stick to the TDs here as another issue is that some scammers piggy back TD sites and you may think your on a TD site and find your not but you wont realise that till the scam is done or at best a drop shipper... So stick to the official website links listed and updated on this forum or others...

The duct tape has always worked for me mate on every rep I have had... you need the stickiness on the tape so must be decent stuff and pretty thick so for example sellotape is no good generally... Once you got that and shape it so you can get a good grip on it and push firmly into palm of your hand and turn you will feel the CB release...

What rep is it mate? -
I have opened mine in the past with some duct tape.... the decent sticky stuff... just roll it in to ball with sticky side up the size of your palm ish then press it hard against the CB grip the excess and push and twist make sure the sticky area only covers the CB area... so you sort of need to shape it mate...

Its happened to all of us at some stage or another mate... Either that or seized etc... But I know you dont need to hear this but for the benefit of other users reading NEVER us PP gift ( I am contradicting myself here but I do but only for mates) To be honest the way the thread is and seller info etc I would or could of bought this too... so I can understand how you got fleeced..I just wouldnt have sent as gift.... as regardless of some opinions you can successfully use PP protection I do wonder if the other poster who got scammed too didnt actually act as a catalyst in this case... -

Personally first thing I'd do is screw it in with some red loctite... Or any thread adhesive but that's me ;) -

If you want a gen deep blue be prepared to pay up to 6K last one went for $4200... At the moment the ltd of the model means that parts prices are very high.... but I think like the gen Milguass that will start to drop in next 18 months.... But at the moment even if your buying a gen blue dial to swap with your gen black dial then it makes no sense to buy one... better off selling your DSSD and using the cash from that with the money you would spend on the blue dial to buy a gen blue then buy a gen DSSD dial... much cheaper option... Remember the rep dial is supposed to be a MK I as is the case as the current DSSDs have a different case set to the early DSSDs

I honestly think you would still feel the same about the size if you did... IMHO I think what your seeing or feeling regarding the size is more about the way the watch design works... the SO 44 has a smaller dial and bigger case etc whereas the Heritage has a thinner case but bigger dial and smaller bezel... Hopefully that makes sense but you find it with any watch that has either a small dial or big inner rehaut... you can get a 42mm watch like say an IWC which is more or less all dial on the wrist and so looks and feels bigger or you can get something like the SO44 that has a deeper and smaller dial and big thick case... I honestly think you would feel exactly the same way even if you shaved the CG... afterall in real terms we are only talking about a few mm... So I would say no dont waste your time... the design is what i think is effecting your 'feel' more for these watches rather than the actual size differences...

I know most guys have had or wanted a DSSD at some point and there has been much discussion on the dials so I thought i would just post up the gen dials that have been issued the biggest diiference is that the MKI has a gloss finish which the others do not and this leads into the Deep blue which the rep has a matte finish but is actually gloss like the MkI most noticeable when it catches the light especially if you ARd the crystal... So while I was putting together my franken I found various info on the variations and thought i would share them here before I get rid of them and move onto my next project... There are 3 variations so far starting with the M serial /Mk I The V Serial /Mk II/ Mk III mostly MKIIs and the G serial MkII/MkIII mostly Mk IIIs The next easy tell is the position of the = Mark I...... ft=3900 Mark II......ft = 3900 Mark III.....ft= 3900 Here are the pics that show more than words ever could.... Heres the DSSD II against the Deep Blue Heres the gen Deep Blue unmounted

If they had been I might have liked it more... you cant 'beat' a night out clubbing...

Not sure if you have tried already but a few other places you can get some cheap case sets is Jacksontse, Helenrou or Getatwatch... they basically sell anything that you see on the crappier reps or even some of the so called better ones... and if you contact the guy that sells Parnis he will sell you anything you fancy having a play with... As I type another good source I recall was River too... Easiest way to test for sapphire is to do the water drop test mate...
