  1. Oh the 10-man red wall happened all through the second half, and only opened up after us scoring in the 80th.. It's a shame, but I saw Xabi's injury confirmed on sky sports just now. And Torres is on the books again too. None of the two were impressive today (maybe played a bit too early?), Torres just seems so lost with his back to the goal. I agree you need a deadly, slice-through striker. If you're connected at all, suggest Erik Huseklepp from Brann Bergen for a right winger! I've read a bit on the Liverpool forums the last few days. (ammo for watching the game with my 'pool-supporting mates), and I see a rising critique of Rafa's favouring the 'work-horse' players. You having norwegian connections might know it; here in norway we all think Riise is seen as a demi-god in Liverpool.. ..he's obviously not. We are developing a problem at the Grove too.. We have a very sour Lemon (Lehmann) and a Diarra voicing out against Wenger not playing them. Why can't more players be like Gilberto Silva? ..take it as an indication that there are people better than you right now, and strive to get back in the loop.
  2. Liverpool - Arsenal 1-1 Good game of football! I'm not unhappy about the result, even though I had higher expectations. Liverpool took the lead after six or seven minutes.. Arsenal equalized after 80. Both teams were attacking, although Liverpool looked like they were holding back a bit in the second half. ..A little disappointed by the 10-men-back they were playing for a while. But I guess they can't score while defending like that, so it worked out great. I feel Arsenal had the play in this game, but Liverpool controlled the last moves well, and stopped the big chances. A couple in the woodwork, and a couple Fabregas should have netted, but all in all I think it's a fair result. Gerrard dangerous as always. Hat off for Carragher, the heart and muscle of a hard working team tonight. All in all an honest and action-filled game, and both teams are yet to lose in the PL this year.
  3. I totally agree DBR.. There's not a single half decent team in this list. It's a stroll in the park...
  4. Ryyannon, sorry about your predicament. This exact thing happened to a mate last year. He had a lot of ..lets call them "sensitive pictures" on there.. girlfriends, ladyfriends and the like.. He asked me if I could fix it (it's a sad truth that I am the most computer literate in our gang), and after googling the matter for a while, I saw no other solution than to contact yahoo customer service for him at no-mail-abuse@cc.yahoo-inc.com (I think it was) After sending a few mails back and forth about the problem, we were asked to give them his phone number. He was called up by a norwegian speaking representative, and had to go through a lot of steps to confirm his identity. In the end he sent them a scan of his driver's license, after which they called back and asked him about the information on it. This all took two days, and his password was changed and given to him over the phone. He was not so unfortunate as you are, considering your financial information and all.. But I really do believe that contacting yahoo is the only way to go. Best of Luck -Ape-
  5. Aww, Doc.. It's at times like these you find comfort in the fact that there are more important things in life than football.. ..and you're happy you didn't bet any money on Liverpool for Moscow '08. I watched Liverpool's game tonight, the first Besiktas goal was pure and utter dumb luck, but why do two and even three 'pool players decide to run after the same ball time and time again? In both defence and offence.. And oh.. your passing was abysmal! "Ryan Babel is probably the only left-winger in the world whose left-back plays 80 yards away from him at all times and who doesn't overlap at all." JAR JAR! I saw Ruud Gullit comment after the game, saying Benitez has an illusion of controlling the game, when the turks really just sat back and waited for the mistakes. I'm no fan of liverpool at all, but it would be a shame if they didn't qualify for the next stage. My dream final: Arsenal - Barcelona.. I would like nothing better than to see a certain frenchman's face when he's trying to look like he's happy for the team he left. ..But it's a long way to go. And for the league, 'black November' is drawing nearer. I invite you back here to gloat or be gloated upon come sunday afternoon, DBR -Ape-
  6. Arsenal 7 Slavia Prague 0 Anfield awaits on Sunday.
  7. Good review, and I share most of your views on this watch. ..I actually like the bad lume though.. It makes the watch look a little 'monolithic' and discrete at night..
  8. I still have most of my phones around somewhere, except the Nokia 3330 which was lost at sea with a cool Budweiser snap-on cover. I was going in after it, but luckily my mates managed to stop me. The Nokia 8210 never came back from repairs.. ..apparently you're not supposed to use a knife on the power button. The gf768 was fished out of the harbour.. I read in the news that the phone manufacturers are collaborating on a charger standard that'll work on most/all brands. That's good news! ..I might have had 11 phones, but I am sure the chargers are bordering on 20. The reason I've changed phones so often is that they get beaten up pretty bad, and are ready for replacement after a year. And anyway, we get sweet deals on phones if you committ to a service provider for 12 months, paying $20-50 for a new model. Oh it is! You need: a couple of buckets, 2 rakes, 2 really powerful flashlights that'll last all night, a lot of beer, even more mosquito repellant and some good-grip boots. The best time to do it is when you know the ebb is coming at 3-4 am. You start at 12, ..after waiting for it for 4 hours with nothing to do but drink and swat bugs. You find a nice barnacle-covered area on the shore, and make your way along it, looking for crabs that come up at night to get an easy snack on said barnacles. When you see one in the light of the flashlight, you quickly without falling in, grab it with the rake. Falling in is a major faux pas.. It's frowned upon and you're seen as a lesser man. When we have enough of the red stuff, we make a fire on the beach, and boil them in seawater in a big old pot. ..served with white bread, lemon and mayo.
  9. So here's a chance to tell us all about your must-haves, the mobile phone. The swedes fittingly used to call it "Yuppie-nalle" freely translated: "Yuppie-Teddy" I tried remembering the models I've had since my first Panasonic G-500 in 1996. I think I got them all, 11 phones in 11 years, some were [censored] and some were very good. Please find pics of all the phones you can remember you've owned, put them in a folder and take a screenshot of them all like I did. ..or just make a list. These are mine, in chronological order. The worst: The Ericsson GF768 The best: The Nokia 6210, or the W810i I currently use. (Up for change now) The weirdest: The Alcatel Easy, bought to use for a weekend because the gf768 took a long walk of a short pier.. ..It had light so bright we actually used it for crab-raking! (looking for crabs in the surf, using a flashlight and a rake. Good norwegian fun!) Most expensive: The Nokia 8210.. Set me back around $800 in 1999.
  10. Pack rat.. oh yes.. I fear the day we're moving to the new house. I had two jobs by the time I was 12.. and I spent all my money on a Commodore 64. It was gaming heaven. I actually managed to convince my parents that "This thing will probably make me a computer genius!"
  11. haha!... I think.. I got my first in 1996.. A shiny Panasonic G 500. ..Girls used to go "Omg it's so tiny!" I can't remember what it cost me, but I was an apprentice engineer making around nothing ($600) a month when I bought it. ..no pre-paid either, and I still have that same number.
  12. I finished the first (and only) season now.. and I agree! It's a really good and 'believable' series. I love the 'Star Trek meets Gunsmoke'-setting. ..shame they didn't make a second season, just finished it all with "Serenity"
  13. Welcome, Terje! Yup, we are plenty of "weegians" here. Enjoy the hospitality and diversity of this forum.
  14. ..busted.. And by the way.. that ain't all just herring-gut bulging out behind our dear flag!
  15. I'm all for over-analyzing subjects, it has interesting side effects.. But.. Why could it not have been a replica? ..occam's razor.. -Ape-
  16. I wouldn't start worrying too much.. It signals a tougher line, but they are more concerned about things that affect health and safety. With the influx of immigrants from less safety conscious parts of the world, came unoriginal (and of very poor quality) parts for cars, motorcycles and machinery. Having a brother in law who works on motorcycles and is always looking to save a buck, I have seen the result of a VERY cheap pakistani-made R-bike tire. ..that's just one example though.. And I know at least Rolex, Omega, Gucci and LV as well as the other high end brands have had the temporary precaution measures for years.. That didn't stop the copied goods from entering norway in the past, and I can't imagine it will in the near future.
  17. I'll give the translation a go.. Not perfect, but you get the meaning. Harder for pirates Customs now have the opportunity to hold back goods they suspect to be pirated. Up until recently, customs have been powerless against importers of pirate goods unless the owner of the trademark has obtained a court order. Laws have now been changed to make it harder for pirates. From September, customs were given extended authorization for holding back forged merchandise. -We
  18. *throws his hands up and pleads Norwegian* I learned 8 or 9 new words tonight.
  19. Captain's armband, and no captain's hat? no.. are those Tiempo Ronaldinhos on Bellamy? ..sorry about your loss tonight though, DBR.. -cough- Question: Will this canadian keeper ever find his contact lense in the Lerkendal grass?
  20. I agree with that.. We're here for different reasons.. And those reasons might change with time. The more 'devout' of us want everybody else to be as devoted, and don't really see eye to eye with the 'Who's got the best and cheapest SUB?!'. ..Not saying that this is the case here though, but it stands to reason that new people will use this as a quick and easy price guide, and perhaps not contribute to the forum. -Ape-
  21. Hmm.. I was damned sure those squirrel monkeys were apes.. and thus you were making a direct reference to ME and my testicles.. ..I felt I had to say something! ..It's not all about me, is it?
  22. I can see how this would be a good idea for you to save time.. I think what DBR is saying is that buying a good rep involves so much more than just finding the cheapest place to buy it. Searching for that good deal, getting to know the dealer, reading about other people's experiences.. good and bad. Having some fun while you do it. It's all a package deal.. You'll maybe learn a lot about other watches, find new ones that catch your eye.. All the while looking for that beautiful watch that made you interested in the first place. A thread where new people can come pick out the best deal, and quickly place an order would defeat some of the purpose of this and other forums. -Ape-
