  1. +1 to every response our trusted members have given above. Also, please remember, the first rule about Fight Club is... We do NOT talk about Fight Club. Our members do not flaunt their reps at boutiques or ADs. We do not pop our heads up in gen forums bragging about our frankens or 1:1 builds. We do not poke the bear, and in exchange we buy, sell and trade in peace. The last thing we want is to give the outside world a reason to pursue us. Counterfeit sales are the fastest path to this end. Plus it's the gentlemanly thing to do, and in my experience this forum is sprouting gentlemen like mushrooms. Just sayin...
  2. No disrespect intended to the seller of course, trust but verify...
  3. Gents, Am considering a franken build PAM 359 and would like a second set of eyes on this OEM dial and handset. I am currently checking the seller's references, but thought it might be wise to ask the community as well. If anything pictured would leave you to question the authenticity of these parts, please let me know. Thanks in advance for your help. -Ajax
  4. Very nice AJ. Can't wait to see that Ti on some proper leather.
  5. I have a Safari on the way to him for mvmt service, gaskets, double AR crystal/date cyclops. Jordan, did he refinish the case? Thinking I might as well add that to the litany of enhancements.
  6. Thanks for the feedback gents, all set!
  7. Gents, Buying a Safari v2 from another member. All is above board though I thought I'd post a quick pic for a second set of eyes. If anything about this piece seems off for a v2 holler.
  8. I don't mind the aesthetic difference so much, but I did find my rep ROO to be unbelievably top heavy. I suppose if I were to get en AP Bands tang buckle that would at least keep the deploy from digging into my wrist all day
  9. Thought I'd post a few glam shots of my DSN 057. Very tasteful hobnail texture on the dial. Here she is in a good light. DSN's own photos do the dial no favors. The fit and finish on the hand stack seems nice enough. Love the sweeping second hand on this PAM. I really dig the fact that the rep and gen both use the same movement (ETA 2892 w Soprod). Anyway enough yapping, let's see some beach. Stretching like saltwater taffy. Distorted clock theme courtesy the beaches of St Petersburg FL - home to the Salvador Dali museum. Thanks for looking gents. -Ajax
  10. That sounds like good advice. Perhaps I will leave the scuffs for now. Not ready to tackle a dismantling of this watch just yet...
  11. Gents, I have a lovely tuxedo GMT that took a hit to the bezel. Ordinarily I would brush it right out with some Sandflex but as you know the 029 has the sort of Explorer type bezel indices. If I brush the dings out will I take the ink inside the indices with it? If so I suppose I could fill them back in... The lovely piece in question The scuffs best as I can show em - on the top and bottom if the 23 hour marker Any words of wisdom appreciated. Thanks! Ajax
  12. I'm about 3 days late to the party here folks. My bad
  13. My PAM 127 (Marlin mod rep) is prob my fav purchase of last year. Love this thread btw, hats off to the OP.
  14. ^ LOL Noob factory did a great job on the tuxedo dial. Fit and finish on this piece is outstanding all the way around. Rough edges on the hands are my only complaint. Thanks Santa!
  15. Happy Holidays gents! Visiting the in-laws in sunny Tampa Bay and thought I would take the obligatory beach shot. Cheers!
  16. I like this question as it's something I think about quite a bit. Personally I tend to avoid reps that can be spotted on the wrist, have poor finish, poor AR, wrong weight etc. I also tend to avoid Rolex (a fake Rolex seems more criminal to me for some reason) and watches that cost more than $10k. I have a small circle of watch enthusiast friends at the office who are in the know. At the time I thought it was a good idea to share the fun but now I wish I had kept my secret. To the OP: Good eye on that IWC PYC - I hadn't seen that before. Sharp dial and handsome chrono pushers for sure. Even the rubber looks sharp.
  17. The thing I love about this Noob v2 is it's impeccable fit and finish. This is the first (rep) watch I've ever owned that felt as if it came from a workshop with first rate QC. The dial is impeccable, everything aligned properly, CG lever has correct resistance and closes with a positive snap, even the lug bars are buttery smooth with all threads measured so each bar is appropriately sunken in at the same depth. I'm starting to understand why Marlin will only mod Noob watches...
  18. FWIW the Noob V2 029 is stunning and has an excellent fit to gen parts.
  19. Still haven't decided if this is a keeper. The case and crystal are sh*t, but the dial has potential and the mvmt is butter (same as gen I believe)
  20. Over-tightening can break it, but who's to say how tight is too tight? I have the same version and I set the date by rolling the time forward only, pain that it is. Other owners I've spoken with do the same, some after learning the lesson the hard way. If you are successful using the date change tool do report back on it. Maybe my caution is too severe. Cheers!
